Leftover Turkey

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Here's a leftover turkey for you today.  The boys and I made these as favors for each person at our Thanksgiving table.
Aaron kind of summed up his appreciation for the 'feast' by leaning back in his chair, slumping down, groaning and saying:  "I'm going to die."  Once he changed out of his good pants and into his loose sweat pants, he was fine and managed to go on to eat some pie.  I'll share some photos later.
It is such a joy to be able to work on craft projects together with my grandchildren.  I hope to include Olive Jane in more of our projects as she gets older.  She's already into coloring and markers... big time!
Here's Aaron's Pilgrim costume from school.
I'll share more soon.  Right now, I'm busy getting ready for my Open House this Sunday!
All those attending will get FREE SHIPPING on their orders!

Happy Thanksgiving

From my studio to you... Have a blessed day!   I am thankful for so many things... friends, family, my home, my furry babies, grandchildren, my church... and many more... all these in no particular order.  Today is a wonderful day to reflect on those blessings.
I used the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies to create a pumpkin banner for my studio.
Remember all those wonderful leaves I made?  I was sure to make enough to use some on my pumpkins!  The Mossy Meadow ribbon is cut in half, to create a skinny ribbon to use with my project.

The boys and I are finishing up turkey favor boxes for today, using these same thinlits dies.  Come back soon and I'll share those.
Happy Thanksgiving!

A Cherry Cobbler Layout with a Surprise

While we're waiting for the turkey to cook, here's a little Cherry Cobbler layout I made up for some fun.  Be sure to read my entire post to learn about the surprise with this layout.

It's the day before Thanksgiving and heavenly smells will be filling our home soon, as we cook our turkey the day before Thanksgiving.  My Bill usually cooks our turkey on the Weber.  It is amazing.  This year, with it being so cold, we're going to cook it inside, to be sure the heat stays even and the bird gets completely cooked.  It will be wonderful, I'm sure.  Now, for the layout.
I've used our Festival of Trees and Wondrous Wreath stamp sets, our little Banner Punch and some of our gorgeous Cherry Cobbler ribbon.
The papers are from our All is Calm DSP.  It looks nice with the Cherry Cobbler and totally changes the feel of the color story.
The snowflake is from our Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies.
Now, for the surprise.
All the pieces for this layout were leftovers from other projects!
The turkey is now in the oven.  The fun is just around the corner!

Read All About It!

Our family has been heavy into the news lately.  Today, the paper had an article featuring my husband and his book.  Last Saturday, the paper had an article about our church's Christmas Shoppe (organized by my daughter) which featured a photo of our youngest grandson last year.  I guess I'd better try to do something newsworthy... or I could just keep on enjoying my low profile:)

Our Christmas Shoppe

Christmas Boutique Open House Projects, Part 5

We'll wrap up the sneak peeks at my Make and Take projects today with a special treat.  Using our wonderful new Petite Cafe Gift Bags, I thought it would be fun to have a special bag in which to take home a treat.
The tag has a punched out tree shape with a window sheet behind it.  I cut the heart shape using the heart thinlit piece from our Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies.
Remember this card?  This is how I used the punched out trees from the tags on the treat bags.

Christmas Boutique Open House Projects, Part 4

Today, I have a note card to share with you.  I actually made 3 versions, so my guests will have to choose the one they'd like to make at my party.  The difference is subtle.  It's just a change in the embellishments... or maybe a tree...
After I made it and put it up on display, I decided that it needed a little 'joy' on it.  That tiny change really adds a lot to this card.  I love making an extra, top layer that is 1/2" smaller and bumping it up on dimensionals.  It adds so much elegance to a card.
Which card do you like the best?  I have one remaining project to share with you, so be sure to come back and check it out.

Christmas Boutique Open House Projects, Part 3

Today's post is all about a envelope/card that can also hold a gift card... or cash!  I've used one of our Gift Card Enclosure Pack pieces to create a special gift for a special someone.  I've kept it simple, to have time to complete several projects during my Open House and you'll want to keep it simple so you have time to make several for several special someones.
So where did I get the tree?  It's punched from a tag I created for one of my next projects.  Come back soon to check it out.

Christmas Boutique Open House Projects, Part 2

I have more to share with you today about our Make and Take projects for my upcoming Christmas Boutique and Open House.  In my previous post, I shared 2 versions of a card with a punched out circle.  Today, I'll show you how we'll keep that punched out circle and use it for another project.
We'll stamp on that punched out circle and use it to embellish a cute little bag.  With just a stamped circle and a bit of ribbon, we can decorate a cute little bag to hold all our party projects!  Easy... and fun!  Come back soon for some peeks at more of my projects.

Christmas Boutique Open House Projects, Part 1

Every year, I have my Christmas Boutique Open House and we have a wonderful time.  Besides the inspirational displays, we have activities, shopping at my Christmas Boutique, refreshments...  and lots of fun, including several Make and Take projects.  Would you like to see what we're going to make?  Over my next few posts, I'll give you some of the fun details on each.
Today, I'll share 1 of the cards.  You get to choose if you'd like to make it with a Bermuda Bay base or a Whisper White base.  I'm using some of the materials from our Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit, along with a tree from Festival of Trees and a text from Christmas Bliss.

Come back for more fun details.

Triple Trees

How about some trees times 3 today... triple trees!  Once again, I've been playing with our Festival of Trees stamp set.  I've used Real Red layers for my card and the trees are overlapping, with one up on dimensionals.  The Mingle all the Way stamp set has a great stamp for the envelope.

Fun Frames

We had some new embossing frames come out in our big catalog last summer and I'm just now getting around to playing with them.  I decided to use them for a Christmas card.  They're called Fun Frames and they are fun to use in creating a card.  I've used one of the two frames for this card.
The key elements for this card are lots of layers and lots of texture.  The coordinating envelope is dressed up with Washi Tape in double strips across one corner.
The little tree really pops against the crisp red and white background.

Many Merry Stars

One of my next projects will have me seeing stars... Many Merry Stars, that is.  Everything you need is supposed to be in the kit!
One thing I need now that is NOT in the kit is more time to play with it all:)
Here's a video to help get you started.

Would you like even more ideas?  Check out this video.
