Tiny Filter Paper Flowers in A Shaker

I've had so many wonderful comments on my filter paper flowers from various posts that I think you'll like what I have for you today.  I have some tiny paper flowers to share with you!
On one of my antiquing trips, I found this cute little vintage shaker.  The holes were a little larger on this one, so it was super simple to put the floral wires through them.  I added a Mossy Meadow CS backing (from smallest framelit) instead of using filter paper, like I'd done with my larger flowers.  This was easier and I recommend it over the filter paper for the backing.  It's stronger and you won't have to spritz it to dye it.  My flowers, as when I made the larger ones, are spritzed with reinker/alcohol mixture.  These are in all our new In Colors.
I used the next to the smallest framelit for the flowers --- cutting all 8 layers at one time.

You can get 4 flowers from the circle piece in your package of filter paper.  Fold over all the long pieces and you can get 5 flowers from it all.  Remember to cut all 8 layers at one time.  This means you can make 9 flowers from 1 package of filter paper.
Wouldn't these make wonderful centerpieces at a party ... or you could just make one bouquet and tuck it into a decor arrangement in your home.  This would also make a wonderful little gift for someone!
For more info on filter paper flowers, do a search on my blog, as I have several posts on it all.

Mustache Clowning Around and Mustache Party Favors

The day after my party, the boys discovered my impromptu 'photo booth' along with the props and decided to pose for some funny photos.
Love my funny boys!
Here's a look at the party favors I sent home with guests.  I made extra to share from time to time.
What is the surprise inside the treat bag?  It's a sheet of Stampin' Dimensionals:)

French Fry Die: Makes the Cutest Little Treat Boxes Ever

I promised I'd share our 3-D project from my Summer Stamping Party.  It was made with our new french fry die and I just love it!

Aren't these cute!  Our gusseted cello bags work perfectly to go around them and keep in all the little contents.  I've used Crushed Curry, added some black gift bag filler, some creme mints (love the zebra print!) and added some funny little googlie eyes.  We tied up our treat bags with some black taffeta ribbon.
We made the one above at the party.  I've made more ... lots more ... for my studio ... and added a few made with our Back to Black DSP.

It Was a Great Party!

I must say, we had a great time at my Summer Stamping Party yesterday.  One of our fun activities was a 'photo booth' for anyone who wanted to pose for a mustache portrait.  Many were camera shy, but we got some really great shots!  They made me pose, too.

Fortunately, My Digital Studio has a mustache 'stamp' so anything is possible:)
In my next post, I'll share the 3-D project we made at the party.

It's Party Time!

I'm off to church this morning and then home to put the final touches on my party.  I think I actually have everything ready for it!  I know it's going to be fun!  I think the mustache 'hunt' will be a hoot.  Here's another project we'll be making today, in addition to In Color bookmarks and the Koala card (in previous post).  I'm still keeping our 3-D project a secret for now.
Everyone gets to choose which card they'd like to make.  I made up several samples so you can see how each one looks on a card.  I actually have an additional layer on top of the white note card, on dimensionals.  I like how this bumps it up a notch.  Aren't these cute?

Which one do you like the best?
Come back again soon.  In my upcoming posts, I'll be sharing more of the many projects on which I've been working... cards using special techniques, party projects, coloring techniques... and more.

I Mustache You a Question...

The mustache theme is a very important part of my upcoming party, because one of the games involves counting all the mustaches in my studio.  The person who guesses the closest gets a prize.  The lucky person who guesses exactly, will win a free Mustache Framelit in with their order.  Here's a peek!
Sometimes, it's just fun to make a project that's purely just for fun.  I am having a ball with our new mustache framelit and truly love our new Large Polka Dot embossing folder.  I plan on exploring a lot more techniques using this fun folder.

Can't come to the party but would like to be included in some of the party perks?  Use the following HOSTESS CODE and place your online order through me before the end of the day on Wed., July 30, and I will see that you get in on some fun party perks, too.  Here's the Hostess Code:
9SCEYN7E
Before you go, I would like to share one more project with you... just the cover for now.  I've totally finished my Coloring Techniques journal and love how it turned out.  I decided to use our new File Tabs Edgelits and create some dividers.  My technique journal is divided into 3 sections, so these were perfect.  Class participants will make 15 pages for their journal, as well as receive dividers and a decorated cover for it, along with a 3-page handout.  Yes, that means you will learn 15 techniques for using color with your projects.  It is nearly impossible to estimate how long it will take to make the technique pages, so we will aim to stop at the 8:30 end of class time and save any unfinished pages for the September class.  This way, we can enjoy learning the techniques and not have to feel rushed.
Come back again soon.  In my upcoming posts, I'll be sharing more of the many projects on which I've been working... cards using special techniques, party projects, coloring techniques... and more.  Be sure to check it all out.

Party Make and Take Sneak Peek

I have some really cute projects that we'll be making at my Summer Stamping Party this Sunday, August 27.  I thought I'd share one of them with you today.
Isn't he cute?  The 'envelope' is actually one of our Tag A Bag Gift Bags.  The idea came to me from Laura, one of my downline.  She actually mailed a card to me in this cute little bag and it went through the mail splendidly.  What a cute idea, Laura!  I'll share her card with you in another post.

Hope you can make it to the party Sunday.
Your special prize awaits you:)
