It's A Sunshine Kind of Day.

Good morning!

Right now, we have a duck on our roof and I'm in a sunshiny kind of mood. I have Enya playing (LOVE Enya!!!) and I'm working in my happy place - my studio. I'm multi-tasking --- cleaning and working on a couple of new card designs. I also have a special project to share with you - my 'Box of Sunshine' project. I made it a while ago but didn't share it then because it was for a special gift. Hope you like it and, maybe, it will give you an idea to send someone a box of sunshine. Have a beautiful, sunshine kind of day.

A Beautiful Sand and Sea Card

I am such a beach lover.  Nothing beats the peace and joy I feel when I walk along the sandy beach at the water's edge with each wave lapping over my feet.  It was a given that I would fall in love with our Sand and Sea Suite.  The dies and embossing folder work together in a way that seems almost magical.  I love it.  Today's card is a tribute to my love of sandy beaches and the sea.  I used the papers (Sand and Sea DSP and Pearlescent Specialty Paper), the dies and the embossing folder to create this card.  I used dimensionals behind the embossed, die cut piece and a bit of liquid adhesive behind the plant pieces.  I love how this card came together.  Hope you do too!

Dandy Garden Memories and More Cards

Sometimes you need a quick card - like right now - yet you still want it to be really pretty.  Here's an idea to help you.  Use some of our Memories and More cards and envelopes and pair them with some pretty DSP that coordinates.  I used a layer to highlight the DSP and then chose our Dandy Garden DSP, some pretty ribbon, and our darling Ladybug Trinkets.  The birthday text is stamped on a Stitched So Sweetly die cut piece.  I added a little strip of ribbon for an extra bit of cute.  I love these cards.  The 2 cards you see here are actually the same sheet of DSP.  I liked both sides and wanted to share both ways with you.  All I changed was the choice of ribbon.  The envelope flaps are stamped, as well as the front of the envelopes.  These are some of the prettiest we've had yet.  I've already pre-ordered a new set from our next catalog.  They are gorgeous, too!

A Fun Tri-Fold Card

Today's weather is so dreary here today, I thought I should share a post of something really bright and pretty.  This card is perfect for cheering lifting our spirits.

This card is so pretty and super simple to make.  Fold card as shown, attaching a white piece (red CS layer behind it) to the center, along with one of the flowers.  Color with Stampin’ Blends (or markers). Cut and attach the double and triple grouping of flowers to the stitched circle, using dimensionals.  Fold the belly band around the card (after attaching a CS layer to the back) leaving it just loose enough to slide over the closed card.  Be sure to attach the circle only to the belly band, so it will slide over the card.  Add Wink of Stella to the flowers on the front for a gorgeous sparkle.  Pretty.  Right?

Surprise Pop-Up Butterfly Card

I have a pretty card for you today and here's how to make it. Notice I used the next larger size of scalloped die cut to this card. They’re from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The embossed bricks add so much to the design. I love this embossing folder! I attached the large, yellow butterfly the same way I did the smaller ones on the butterfly box in my previous post. (You can add Wink of Stella to this butterfly, too.) Attach the top layers of the card with dimensionals, for added interest.

As if this card wasn’t already a winner, I decided to make it into a surprise pop-up card. Making this design is easy as can be. Score the square horizontally and vertically down the middle and then corner to corner on ONE diagonal. Place it inside your card with the point at the fold of the card. Be sure the point of the pop-up piece is as close to the card fold as possible. Attach by gluing the back square of the DSP. Press down well. Now, add glue to the top square of the DSP, close your card and press down. Once it’s dry, it will pop up every time you open your card. (Studying the photo will help you be sure you get the idea.). I added 2 little white square pieces, so you can stamp and/or write something on the inside of your card. For the pop-up piece, I cut a 6 X 6" square of DSP down to a 5 3/4" square, to be sure it fit completely inside the card. You could use a full 6" square, but I worried that it would show a teeny, tiny bit and I didn't want that.
I hope you love this card as much as I do.
