This is a longer 'from the heart' post and I hope you'll read it all.
If you know me well, I haven't posted too much at all yet in 2022. There's a reason for that. Since having Covid in January, I have struggled each and every day to regain my strength. It's been an uphill battle and not going all that well. Yesterday, my doctor gave me the answer as to why this was happening. I seem to be a Covid longhauler. He also added that they are now conducting studies as to how they can help people like me - and there are many. He also added that, if I hadn't had my Covid vaccines, I would be dead. Going by how much trouble I'm still having, I believe him. I feel so blessed and have faith that I can get stronger. I know it will take time but I have a lot to live for and I will make each day count.
On an even happier note, he told me he was releasing me from Cancer Care where I've undergone regular checks on my bloodwork. I have now, since completing Chemo, been cancer free for 20 years. Talk about feeling so humbled and full of joy! I'd do a happy dance but don't have the strength just yet. I know I will someday and I'll do it then.
My message for today is:
- Be thankful for each and every day.
- Say a prayer for the doctors at Cancer Care. They don't always get to give a patient such happy
news and they treat everyone with the care of angels. (so do their nurses)
- Get your checkups. Cancer doesn't wait for a more convenient day.
- Trust your gut. My cancer did not show in a regular mammogram.
I knew in my gut there was a problem. I pursued it and my doctor found the lump. It took an
ultrasound to find it.
- Get any and all vaccines you need to do. They might just save your life, too.
- Live each day with joy and find a way to pass that on to others.
