A Tisket A Tasket ... A Cute Little Basket...

It's not a green and yellow basket, but I think it's even cuter...
I made these using some of our Everyday Enchantment DSP and stamp sets all from our S-A-B products.  These are super quick and easy and look so cute all put together.
Here's how you make them:
  • Cut a 6" square of DSP.
  • Score (using our Simply Scored tool) at 2" and 4" vertically and horizontally.  (You'll have a tic tac toe arrangement of your score lines and it will create 9 boxes.)
  • In each of the outside corner boxes, score from the outside corner diagonally across each box.
  • Fold on all the score lines.
  • Pinch in on the corner boxes until it makes the cute little shape you see above.
  • Thread a needle (with a large eye) with a coordinating color of our baker's twine.
  • Pierce through each of the points as shown above.
  • Pull the baker's twine to hold the middle points in together.  Pull in as much or little as you wish, to get the desired look you are after.
  • Fill with a little filler and some treats.
  • Add a cute little tag.  I cut mine with one of our framelits dies.
  • Enjoy!
Here's a link to the basket my daughter made.  So many times, we are thinking alike to the point where we're working on the same types of projects.  I was actually making mine about the same time she was, but just now posted it for you to see.  Hers is cute, too.

    Sketch Challenge: Round or Square?

Happy Groundhog Day!  I know what movie my husband will want to watch tonight.  He loves that movie!  No, I don't have a groundhog stamp or a groundhog project, but I have some fun scallops for today.
I made these cards to participate in a Mojo Monday sketch challenge.  It could be round or square.  I'll post my favorite one (the one I entered for the challenge) first.
The Poppy Parade and coordinating colors just wake you up!
I colored the images using inks (Peach Parfait, Coral Calypso, Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade) and the Aqua Painter.
    Tip:
I almost always emboss first whenever I plan to color an image.  It's much easier to color the areas if you've embossed first and you don't have to worry about smearing the ink.
Here's another round version I made.  I used the bird shape from the Movers and Shapers die to coordinate with the little birds in the DSP.
These cards are both easel cards.  Another day, I'll show you how to make one, using lots of dies with the Big Shot.
Warning:  These cards are fun, easy and very addictive!  OK, you've been warned:)

Here are the square cards I made, using the same sketch design.  I decided that I'd stay with the scallops.  You only needed to enter 1 card for the sketch challenge, but I really liked this design so I went ahead and made 2 of each:)
These cards are both cut with the large scallop square die.  I pierced the top left-hand corner and added a brad.  They swivel to open.  The flower is cut using the fun flowers die.
Here are the sketches for the challenge:  If you want to see more samples using this challenge, here's the link.

    I'm Still Sale-A-Brating!

Here are a couple more cards using our S-A-B products.  As you can see, I'm really enjoying creating with the Everyday Enchantment DSP and coordinating products.
For this card, I made a fan using our new Designer Rosette Bigz Die (#125594).  I love it!  The die actually has two decorative edges, so you have a choice.  For the fan, I only needed 1/2 the width of the piece cut with the die, so I'll have 1/2 to use for another project.  The DSP actually got me going on thinking about making a fan.  I created the 'flag' shape by nipping the end off a strip of DSP using a square punch.

I'm actually entering this next card into another sketch challenge.
For this card, I used our framelits dies and the Floral Fusion sizzlit die.  The pearl accents and a spritzing with my Frost White Shimmer Paint/alcohol mixture give this card an elegant look.

    S-A-B Projects

I've been having a lot of fun creating projects with our Everyday Enchantment products from our S-A-B promotion.  These colors are sure to chase away the winter blahs!   They are so bright and cheerful, they just make me smile.
I decorated 2 of our cute little Kraft Gift Boxes (#124106) and made a couple of coordinating cards --- all with the Everyday Enchantment DSP, coordinating brads and ribbons from our current Sale-A-Bration promotion.  It's difficult to see it, but I added some of my Frost White Shimmer Paint/alcohol spritz over the card fronts and the flowers on the boxes.  I used the Fun Flowers die (#121812) to create the flowers on the top of each box.

Now is a great time to place orders, host workshops and/or sign up to become a part of my Stampin' Up! Team.  It all involves lots of extra free products for your creative enjoyment --- cards, projects and scrapbooking creations.  Check it out here!!!  You'll be glad you did!

Meet our Fabulous New Framelits ..... and ..... How to Make a Little Trifold Card

Here's a cute little card, inspired by a fellow demonstrator, I made using our S-A-B products.
    Here's how I did it:
Cut your DSP to 12 X 4."  You'll be able to make THREE cards from one sheet of DSP!
I used the 3 smallest of the 6 framelits.  For the front of the card, use the largest of these 3.  Center it completely on the 4" square card front by lining it up with the markings on your grid paper.  I held mine in place using a Post It note.
    Tip:
When using the framelits, use your multipurpose platform along with both tabs.
    Very important:
Place the side of the framelit down that has the thin, raised edge on it.  I like to use my oldest cutting plate under it because it does really cut into the plate.

Close your card with the card front on the top.  Carefully center the smallest framelit inside the opening you previously cut.  Gently raise the front of the card and position a Post It note onto the smallest framelit to hold it in place.

Open your card and run it through the Big Shot to cut this small opening into the back layer only.

Here's how the back opening will look.  You'll notice that now the front opening is covered over with a layer of Calypso Coral.  (Use a 4" square and trim it down slightly to make sure it allows the card to close completely.)
Here's how the front looks with the Calypso Coral attached inside.

Carefully center the middle sized framelit (of the 3 you're using) inside the front opening, as shown below.  Hold in place with a Post It note.

Here's how it will look after you run it through the Big Shot.  If you look carefully, you can see that it leaves a slight embossed edge inside the coral.  I really like that.  It just adds another element of texture.
Save all the pieces you've cut out.  You can use them on other projects.
The framelits are designed to mat inside each other.  They are fabulous.
Here's how I store my framelits.  I cut a piece of our magnetic sheets and placed it inside an empty clear mount stamp case.  It's adhesive backed, so it attaches instantly.  I lay the framelits onto the magnetic sheet with the raised cutting edge UP, so it's easier to pick them up.  You don't want to bend them!!!
I slip the instructions/label inside the front of the case.  I plan to decorate this a bit soon:)
I made each of the 3 card insides differently.  In this version, I attached a piece of Very Vanilla inside the entire middle section of the card.

You can also stamp and cut out a piece, using one of the framelits.
When I do this, I sometimes stamp several at one time so I can work ahead on future projects.

I used a sizzlit and the Boho Blossoms punch for the embellishments on the card fronts.
Here, again, is the first card.  As you can see, I used ribbon (Lucky Limeade) and some of the new pearls (Occasions Mini) to embellish the card further.  In the card below, both inside pieces are attached with dimensionals.
On this card, I pleated and attached the ribbon under the 'Hello' greeting.  I also sponged around the inside opening.
The 'Hello' is from the stamp set Elementary Elegance from our S-A-B collection.
This card uses Calypso Coral ribbon and several sizes of the pearls.  To get the shading in the coloring, I used different inks (Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade) with the Aqua Painter.
Here are more views of the cards partly opened.
    ...a few closer views:

As you can see, each card is slightly different on the inside.  For the one below, I sponged around the edges after I cut it out with the framelit.
    ...another view of the coloring:
The floral image is from the stamp set Bordering on Romance from our Occasions Mini.
For all 3 cards, I used the Everyday Enchantment DSP from our S-A-B promotion.  It is gorgeous.  It has coordinating ribbons and brads, too!
Here's a close-up of the coordinating brads.  Aren't they cute?

Be sure to check out our S-A-B promotion to see what YOU might like to earn for FREE.
    You'll be glad you did!!!
There you have it.  A long and detailed tutorial for exactly how you can make some cute little trifold cards.   So... crank up your Big Shot, get out those framelits (or order some NOW) and try some of these fun little cards.  I think they could become addictive:)
