The Final Layout for our Year's Album

For today's post, we'll finish up the last pages for our album for the year that we did with my Scraps and Prayers group.  This was our December layout.  I used an unexpected stamp set for this one:  Papaya Collage.  I used it for the frames, as a mat for the photos.  The trees were an accent along the bottom of the pages.  The stamped piece (under the mosaic pieces) is from the Papaya Collage stamp set.  I cut the white pieces and attached them over some Cherry Cobbler seam binding to form a sort of border along the bottom of the pages.
My color story is Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler.  The pine trees are stamped along the bottom of the pages for some added texture in the background.
Come back for my next post and I'll review the pages for the entire album for the year.  This has been a great project.  At our class next week, we'll be adding pages for the front and back pages for our album.  These pages will be designed to stand alone as a layout, for an additional option, instead of front and back pages for the album.

Another Comfort Cafe Project

I love the Comfort Cafe DSP.  As I finish my packing and prepare to return home from Utah, here's a card I made shortly before coming to Convention.
I used the Papaya Collage stamp set and embellished with a knotted ribbons and lace bow and a punched 'ribbon' strip across the bottom of the card.  As you can see, I did a lot of sponging to add more dimension to my card.  The card base is midnight muse.

Convention has been an unbelievable and inspiring event, as always.  I can't wait to get home and share more about it with you.  Evidently I buried my cord to upload my photos from my camera to my computer (deep in my suitcase, I'm sure) so I'll share lots of fun photos when I get home, get them uploaded, sorted and ready to share.

I'll close by sharing that our group enjoyed a dinner together at the Roof restaurant in the Joseph Smith building.  It's across from the building where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performs their annual Christmas program.  I think they may have been having a concert there tonight.  If we'd known earlier, we would have tried to attend.  The restaurant seated us by a panoramic window view of the city, with the mountains in the distance.  It was just beautiful.  We could also see the gorgeous architecture of the temple on another side of our table.  The dinner buffet was awesome and to say that we strayed a bit from our Atkins program would be an understatement.  We will be good again until next year!  Since we were close to the Convention Center and right across from a gorgeous new mall.  My daughter and I stopped on our way to the restaurant and did a 'power' shopping trip, going to the Coach and the Brighton stores and treating ourselves to a 'little something' at each.  How fun!

I'm off to bed to rest up before the long trip home.  I hope you'll sign up to attend my Fun Friday Project Class this week.  I'll be sharing some of what I learned and what I brought home from Convention and you'll enjoy a variety of fun projects using a variety of fun new products.

Come and join us!

Crumb Cake and Comfort Cafe

Here's another cute little card --- 4 X 4" --- using the Comfort Cafe DSP.
I like stamping on a DSP background and used Papaya Collage for this one.
I curled up the ends of the 'flag' pieces using a bone folder.

I'm looking forward to my Friday 3-4-5 Card Buffet Class tonight.
I think they'll like what I have planned for the evening.

Banner fun!

I love the look of the little pennant banners.
You can do so much with them.
I've used them for today's post in a little 4 X 4" card and an 8 X 8" scrapbook page.
I've used Betsy's Blooms and Papaya Collage stamp sets for my projects.
My colors are crumb cake, midnight muse and summer starfruit.
I added a touch of 'bling' with some little pearls and a bit of First Edition DSP.
Remember, today is the last day for my guessing contest.
Try to guess my Top Ten Favorite New Stamp Sets.
The more correct guesses you get, the bigger your prize!
