Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving! / ONLINE EXTRAVAGANZA!

This is the post I had planned for you for yesterday, Thanksgiving, but technology stepped in and made me wait.  That's ok because I'm sure you were as busy as we were.

What a great and blessed day!  We had a house full of family and friends.  It was great fun having all the grandbabies here and seeing how, once again, all the cousins enjoy each other's company.  My son cooked a fabulous dinner, I slipped and ate dessert ... a lot of dessert, but it was just fabulous.  I'm so close to goal, it was probably a bad idea, but I just needed to enjoy a bit and I'm back on the straight and narrow today.  I was busy trying to keep up with the dishes as my son cooked, but he actually stayed and did more ... a lot more ... after we ate.
Our final joy of the day was a concert by 2 of our grandchildren.  Olive Jane shared what she'd learned with her piano lessons (She just started this last summer.) and Aaron shared some Christmas tunes on his clarinet.  He just started a year and a half ago and he does amazingly well.  I know their great-grandma was quite impressed, as she used to play both instruments.

Let us continue to thank God for all our many blessings, pray for those not able to be with us, and pray for our military who are far from home.  God's blessings on you and your family each and every day.

Leftover Turkey

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Here's a leftover turkey for you today.  The boys and I made these as favors for each person at our Thanksgiving table.
Aaron kind of summed up his appreciation for the 'feast' by leaning back in his chair, slumping down, groaning and saying:  "I'm going to die."  Once he changed out of his good pants and into his loose sweat pants, he was fine and managed to go on to eat some pie.  I'll share some photos later.
It is such a joy to be able to work on craft projects together with my grandchildren.  I hope to include Olive Jane in more of our projects as she gets older.  She's already into coloring and markers... big time!
Here's Aaron's Pilgrim costume from school.
I'll share more soon.  Right now, I'm busy getting ready for my Open House this Sunday!
All those attending will get FREE SHIPPING on their orders!

There's a New Turkey in Town

I hope you had a beautiful Thanksgiving.  We had both my children, their spouses, 3 grandchildren, 3 grandparents and 1 great grandmother here and it was a beautiful day.  With my knee in such bad shape, everyone pitched in and prepared a beautiful meal.

Our oldest grandson has severe food allergies so I went looking for something special, just for him.  On Pinterest, I found the perfect solution --- a fruit turkey!  We got everything we needed to make it and, so I wouldn't have to stand too long to prepare it, my DIL stepped up and did a fabulous job!  I love it.  Benjamin was soooooo happy when he saw it and I think it really meant a lot to him that he got something special, too.  I guess I'll have to come up with a Christmas version of it.
In the photo, he's already eaten a piece or two:)
Here's what your turkey looks like fresh off the Weber.  My husband is a devoted Weber man and has been for many years.  The turkey looks gorgeous and tastes wonderfully delicious.
I am not showing you the other side of the turkey.  My Weber man is also a turkey lover and he already had taken a few nibbles before I could get my shot of it:)

I tried to get a good shot or two of all 3 of the grandkids playing together, but they were all moving too fast to capture it all.  I put my camera down and just enjoyed playing with them.  Bill and I were going to have someone take a photo of us with the 3 grandkids after our dinner, but we totally forgot.  There goes that Christmas card idea!

My Sweet Little Pilgrim!

When my daughter was just 7 months old, I made her a Pilgrim dress for her first Thanksgiving.  Somewhere along the way, we seem to have lost the bonnet, but today my sweet granddaughter (almost 7 months old) wore the same dress for her first Thanksgiving.  She looked so cute!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Turkey Day!!!
On this Thanksgiving Day, let us take time to give thanks for all our many blessings.

At the top of my list... in no particular order.....

a loving husband
my children and their families
my beautiful grandchildren
my sweet Toby Joe
my friends
my home
my church family
being able to share my creativity with others
my studio where I can create to my heart's content
my customers and stamping friends, with whom I can share my stamping passion
living in a country where I can be free to give thanks
...and so much more

...and..... let's not forget the turkey:)

My sweet husband is a Weber grill man and spends a good part of the morning before Thanksgiving going in and out and checking the turkey while it cooks on the grill.  It comes out this gorgeous color and he gets all the carving done and mess cleaned up BEFORE Thanksgiving... sweet!

I wanted to share with you some projects I've made over the past few seasons and added to my holiday decor.  It's so nice to be able to add your personal touch to your decorating for the holidays and create something that you can enjoy for years to come.

I didn't even realize that Toby Joe had sneaked into the photo until I uploaded them onto my computer.  What a clown!

Can you see my 2 Spice Cake wreaths hanging on the corner china cabinets?  You can see them a lot better IRL:)

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Be sure to check back each day.  I have lots of ideas to share with you to help you get ready for Christmas.  I'll have something new pretty much EVERY DAY.
Also, while you're here, don't forget to click on the Online Extravaganza to check out the super sales.  There are tons of bargains going on right now!!!
Have a great day!
