I apologize I did not get a post up yesterday. I had a super busy day. I worked on more items to add to my 2 Prairie Treasures booths, enjoyed lunch with my daughter at the Wildflour, played with the boys, made the final prep for my class and then enjoyed a delightful time at my class last night. I let them make extra cards, as a little Christmas bonus, so they went home with a bunch of cards to share with special someones.
I love this time of year. One of the things I love most is getting up all the Christmas decorations. The boys, especially Ben (my 8 year old grandson) wanted to 'help' put up the living room tree. I usually reserve the right to do this totally on my own (which suits my husband just fine) but decided to take a chance and let the boys participate. Ben turned out to be surprisingly good at helping me. He could anticipate when we needed to hand off the string of lights so we could get around the tree and did the same with the gold ribbon I wrap around it. He caught on to mixing up the placement of similar ornaments, so they would look the best and he was so proud of the tree when we finished. Aaron got to hang all the lighthouse ornaments and then got busy popping all my bubble wrap I use to protect the ornaments. All in all, it was a delightful experience.
Here's our tree:
The mega blocks on the coffee table are from the Santa's workshop that Aaron and I built.
You'll note that Toby Joe loves to nap in front of the fire place. He didn't wake up until the last shot:)
...and some new additions to my Prairie Treasures booth at the Root Cellar:
I've made mug mats and the cutest little Christmas stocking gift bags --- red ones and green ones. Each stocking/gift bag is decorated a little differently, so they're all unique. I've added more cards, gift tags and gift card holders, too, so you can see I've been really busy creating.
Have a great day!
This blog is full of creative inspiration for cards, home decor, gifts, scrapbooking and more. Let's create something beautiful today.

Another Gift Bag
I'm just in a really good mood today. I pretty much am most any day, actually. I attended my sweet husband's Opus 24 concert last night and it was fabulous. The music was gorgeous.
Today, I have another gift bag to share with you. I had purchased the fabric last year and hadn't used it yet. If you don't have any, this fabric is in the clearance rack now for just .99!!!
We went to a party last weekend and this was our gift we took for the hostess. It makes a nice gift for many occasions. I've already sold several of these in my Prairie Treasures booth at the Root Cellar.
Have a super day!

Layout Kit --- A Quick Way to a Beautiful Layout for Christmas
Would you like a quick way to make a Christmas layout? Would you like it guaranteed to be beautiful? How about this Simply Scrappin' Layout Kit? It has absolutely everything you need to create the layout. I added the photo mats so you could see where I'll put my photos. The kit is called Snowflake Season. Instead of the typical Scrappin' Kit, it guides you exactly what to make and how to do it --- for one layout.
How fun is that? If you're wondering why I chose 2011 instead of putting 2012, it was at my daughter's suggestion. Her point was that I could get photos on it right away. You can see how well that went:)
Our Holiday Catalog won't be around that much longer, so be sure to check out all the goodies. This kit, along with many other items in the catalog, would make a nice Christmas gift for a busy scrapbooker or stamper.
Have a great day. Now, go stamp something!

Cozy?
I used some of our fabric to make a coffee cozy. What do you think?
Because of the elastic, it fits snugly onto this coffee cup and will adjust to other sizes of cups as well. It has cotton batting inside the fabric layers, so it will really protect your hands from the hot coffee. With all the cute buttons we have, the most difficult part of the project was choosing which button to use. This fabric comes with 3 designs in each package.
Here's the Candlelight Christmas Designer Fabric:
This fabric is in our Holiday Catalog. Always check out the clearance rack, too, for bargains with fabric and other crafting supplies.
Oh, and don't forget to sign up for my Just Christmas Cards class this Thursday. We'll be making 15 cards -- 3 each of 5 designs. Look over in the side bar and you can see the cards. Want to come but feel you might be too tired to make 15 cards after a busy day? I have a suggestion: Come and make 5 cards, then stamp and/or cut all the pieces you'll need to finish the other cards at home. Have a great day!

Fun Fabric Project
While I'm home this morning with yet another asthma episode (forgot to wear my dust mask when I was shuffling Christmas decorations from storage), I'll share one of my latest fabric projects with you. These were so much fun to make.
Using 1 piece of fabric from the package, you can make 2 wine bottle gift bags. The packages come with 3 pieces of fabric, each a different design. Each piece is slightly larger than a fat quarter, like you buy for quilting.
I dressed it up by tying it closed with some of our sweater trim. Then I added a pair of our stitched felt mittens and a cute little tag. I tied the tag on with bakers twine.
My husband had the idea to turn down the top edge a little and I liked it! He's very clever sometimes and I'm glad he's interested in my projects. Wouldn't this make a nice Christmas gift for someone. Of course, my bottle is empty - for display only:)
Have a great day and remind me to use my dust mask whenever I handle anything from storage. I can't believe I forgot it. Come back soon. In my next post, I'll show you another cute project using this same fabric.

Want to see?
I'm so excited about setting up my new booth at the Root Cellar. I thought you might like a sneak peek at what I've been doing.
Some of the items pictured here were already sold yesterday and I went down and added several new items, including little stockings to use as small gift bags, mug mats and lots more cards.
This is a dream come true to get to participate as a vendor at the Root Cellar. It has a wonderful vintage feel, with brick and plaster walls and concrete floors. I love it. I don't know why, but I just love all the old vintage things you find in places like this. This building is the perfect place for an antiques and artisans mall. Yesterday, when I got home, I started pulling out decorations to put up in my own home and, every time I got a new idea, I added it to my list of what I want to make next for my booth. It looks like I'll be busy for a long time:)

Pinwheels on Parade Layout
As promised, here is the layout we made at our Scraps and Prayers group. We used Midnight Muse for the base of the layout and added die cut pieces from the Pinwheels on Parade Simply Scrappin' Kit. It was so much fun!
The stamped pieces are from the Decorate a Daisy stamp set.

A Cute Mini Album from a Simply Scrappin' Kit
Using the Pinwheels on Parade Simply Scrappin' Kit, our Scraps and Prayers group made a really fun mini album. As with the mini album my Hostess Scrapbook Club created, we used 5 envelopes as the base of our album. This is a quick and easy project and, by using the Scrappin' kit, it's even easier and super fun.
The die cut pieces are self-adhesive, so you can have fun placing them wherever you'd like as you decorate your little album.
The DSP measurements are:
Cover = 5 1/2 X 4"
Inside pages = 5 1/2 X 2 3/4"
We used 5 envelopes.
We also made a layout using the same Scrappin' kit. I'll show it in one of my next posts.
Don't forget to sign up for a holiday class and be sure to check out the Online Extravaganza going on right now.
Today will be a busy day. It's time to get ready for Thanksgiving Day company AND finish getting my Prairie Treasures booth ready at the Root Cellar in the Wildflour. We open Friday!
