Brusho and Spray Starch Butterfly Card / Tutorial

What do you get when you add a watercolored butterfly to a Brusho/spray starch technique?  You get a beautiful card ... for sure!  I love the blues and greens together.

Here's how you do it:
- Spray starch over Glossy White CS.
- Sprinkle on your choice of Brusho colors.
- Watch the beautiful bursts of color begin.
- Add more starch, if needed, to get the blend of colors you want.
- Cover your CS with plastic wrap and scrunch it up.
- Press it down and leave it for 30 minutes or so.
- Uncover the magic.
- Set aside to finish drying.
Note:
When you remove the plastic wrap, your CS will still be quite wet, so you can just leave it to air dry or heat set it.  I left mine overnight, to be sure everything was ready to be used for my card.  Sometimes, heat setting can move and change the color formations in a way you don't like as well.  If  you leave it to air dry, the CS will stay exactly as it looks when you first remove the plastic wrap.

I stamped my butterfly onto watercolor paper, heat embossed it with Gold EP and then watercolored it with Brusho mixed with water in my paint palette.  I did not add any sentiment at all on the front of my card.  I just wanted the butterfly and the beautiful background to be the stars of my card.  I hope you'll try this technique.  It's a lot of fun.

Card Trio for my May Scraps and Prayers Class ... Total Technique Fun!

Today, I have a trio of super fun cards to share with you.  We will be making all three of these at our May Scraps and Prayers class.  They include several fun techniques. 
One card involves watercoloring the flower from our Beautiful Day stamp set.  The second card uses our Daisy punch and has a couple of super fun and easy techniques using two of our Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (TIEF).  The third card has yet a third technique for using our embossing folders.  It's also fun and super easy.  We'll be using the Stamparatus, too, so that our stamping will come out just perfect.  I think you'll love this class!  Pay to register soon, to save your spot.

First Frost / Beautiful Day Card

I made this card yesterday, as my creative design to use for my October birthday cards for our church.  I really like the elegant simplicity of it all.  I actually placed both stamps onto my Stamparatus at the same time, so the stamping was easy and super quick.  The prettiest part doesn't even show up in the photo, but I used Wink of Stella all over the image.  It's really pretty in person.

My color story is Smoky Slate (ink), Silver Foil Paper, and Pool Party, with a white card base.

 The little rhinestones add the perfect finishing touch.

Beautiful Day? Why yes!

Every day I can fill my soul with happiness by creating something beautiful is, of course, a beautiful day.  We even have a stamp for that!  Remember that commercial where they repeatedly said: "We have an app for that."  When it first came out, my husband and I kept wondering why they said 'a' for that.  We weren't hearing the 'p' at the end of the word:)  Anyway, they truly do have an app for most anything now.  
I's so fun when an artist can say: "We have a stamp for that!" because we pretty much do.  As I continue to reorganize my studio AND work on my Joy sampler, I'm getting more and more anxious to get finished so I can play with all my new goodies.  I decided last night that I was going to just have to slip in some stamping in the midst of it all, or I might go crazy.  I'm working on my dies right now and, when it comes to jobs, this is major.
So, time to stop and enjoy the beautiful day with some Beautiful Day cards.  This is a great set.  I have 2 sizes of cards for you today.  The flowers and butterflies are colored using our wonderful Stampin' Blends.

The two cards above are 4 X 4" and use card bases from one of our SAB selections.  The cards below are full sized cards.

You'll notice that I've used some embossing across each card.  I love the elegant touch of detail it lends to my cards.  The details that stand out the most have been sanded lightly, to bring out the details in the embossed areas.  Subtle or highlighted details are both pretty and it's so nice to have options.
