Brylie's Corner Garden Project

It just melts my heart when something I've created and shared with someone brings them joy and/or inspires them.  Such was the case with my Corner Garden card.  When one of my BFF's grandchildren was visiting last week, she stamped the Corner Garden for her and had her color it.  She did such a good job that they framed it!  Here is Brylie's Corner Garden project. 

Beautiful!  I'm sure this framed project will remind her of her wonderful visit to Illinois.  Here is my card that inspired them to make the project.  My heart is happy!

Watercolor Wings in the Corner Garden

In my previous post, I promised I'd share another card using our Corner Garden set but without all the detailed coloring.  I decided to use it in this card as a beautiful background setting for yet another butterfly.

I went with a simple color story of Pacific Point with black and white accents.  The Corner Garden stamp is embossed with black EP.

With our gorgeous new Pacific Point ribbon, it was easy to make a simple, yet elegant little bit of accent for the card.
Tip:
Whenever you have a card with a black or very dark card base, be sure to add a layer of white inside, so you can have a place to stamp or write your message or note.  It adds yet another level of elegance to the card, too, and you can always add a bit of stamping on the edge to fancy it up even more:)

Today is going to be a fun and busy day.  I'm doing a bit of work in my studio this morning, along with enjoying Aaron's 8th birthday with him.  Later, I'm having lunch with my daughter and then we're going to start painting her nursery.  I hope you have a great day, too.

Corner Garden For a Bright and Cheerful Card

We've had a lot of rain here lately and I thought we could use something especially bright and cheerful today.  I have to confess that I was really glad that our Corner Garden stamp set didn't retire with the end of our last catalog... because I hadn't used mine yet.  It is beautiful and I am sad to say that mine sat lonely for many months. 

I dusted it off recently and got to work with it.  I embossed with black EP, to make the coloring even easier.  It is not difficult to color, but takes some time.  I love to color and find it very relaxing.

For this card, it's easier to color if you have a handy reference.  Use my card as your reference as you color.  You can change any of the colors that you'd like to change, but it will help you keep the images straight in your head.  Take your time and do one color at a time, coloring all the images with that color before moving on to a new color.  I used my Aqua Painter and inks in the lid of my ink pads to watercolor all my images.
