Lovin' The Bow Tie!

One of our new stamp sets is called Dapper Dad.  Love the name!  Here's a bow tie card I made with it:

The buttons add a nice touch to the masculine look of the card.  I stamped the shoe on the envelope and the watch on the inside of the card.  When you make a card with a really dark color of CS, it's nice to add another layer to the inside, so you can write in it.

Come back soon for another look at a cute project I made with the bow tie.  I'm lovin' it!

It's a kind of gloomy, rainy day here in Lincoln Land.  I think it will be a good day to hole up and stamp a bunch!

An Oops, a Little Glimmer and My Booth Redo

Before I share today, I'd like to say that I goofed yesterday.  I said I'd be sharing a cute little double pocket treat holder today, along with instructions on how to do it.  That is my post for Friday.  I'll figure out what day it is any time now.  So... be sure to come back Friday and see it.  It is cute!

Next up, here's a little glimmer to start your day:

Remember my technique for adding gold embossing to the crumpled leaves?  I used that technique here and also added a die cut leaf from the champagne glimmer paper.  In real life, there is a lot of glimmer, shimmer and shine.

I used our new cotton ribbon, along with 2 of our Naturals buttons.  I stacked them and then stitched it all together with a little linen thread.  The card base is Early Espresso.

I wanted to share with you my photos from my Prairie Treasures booth redo!  I took out the round table and replaced it with shelving and then added more wall display items.  I like it a lot.

I put up new curtain panels, too.  If you're in the Harristown area, I hope you'll stop by and check out my booth.

Plans are in the works for a second booth in downtown Decatur.  I'll be in the Root Cellar at the Wildflour Bakery.  Won't that be fun?!!!  My booth there will feature high end, vintage style cards, fabric and decor items --- lots of gift ideas for your shopping.

I'm off to work in my studio.  I have a full class already in the works for tomorrow night.  It's my Friday 3-4-5 and I have lots of fun new cards that I think they'll really like.  Have a great day.

My Fall Studio

I love the Fall.  I love the sights, the sounds, the smells, the activities and, most of all, the beautiful colors.  As an artist, I love to study the colors in the leaves and I love to take long walks in search of color inspirations.  Here are 2 of my most favorite Fall cards for the season.  Come back tomorrow and I'll tell you more about them.
Here's a peek at what's going on in my studio this Fall.

As you can see, I've been pretty busy.  Here are some other shots of favorites I have on display right now.  If you know me, you know how much I love to go antiquing and hunt for little treasures to use in my creations.  Some of my favorite finds are old cookie cutters and biscuit cutters.  Since I'd rather stamp than cook, what better way to use them than to decorate them.

I have lots more to share with you, so come back again soon.  Have a great day.

Another leaf card? Yes!

Here's another leaf card, one that we made at my last Team Meeting.  I used my brushed gold technique on the leaves.  Check back tomorrow and I'll give you all the details on how to do my special technique.

I used the coordinating Bitty Banners stamp set and framelits.  The button accent adds a nice Fall touch to the card.  I threaded it with our linen thread.

Have a beautiful day and a beautiful weekend!
