Time to Give up the Answers and Announce the Winners

What a wonderful 3-day weekend!  Friday, I went shopping for baby stuff with Jenn, Saturday, I kind of rested up from our trip and worked a bit in my studio.  Saturday night, I was busy comforting Toby Joe from all the fireworks noise.

Sunday, I celebrated yet another birthday.  I must be 22 or 23 by now???  We had a wonderful celebration... just family... nice!  I also spent part of the weekend working on a post for you... to share the party winners.  I want you to be aware that, when you come to my Open House Parties, you are surrounded by clues that should help you guess.  So... here we go...

Last year, I had everyone try to guess my favorite new DSP.  No one did, even though I carried around a clipboard decorated with it and used it to decorate my entire desk area and studio table area.  I hadn't even finished ordering all my new DSP selections yet this year, so I really worked on giving clues for my favorite new In Color.

The winners who guessed Watermelon Wonder:
Jessica B.
Julie Y.
Cheire L.
Jeri W.
Clarice L.
Sheila W.

Oh, and for my favorite new stamp set... no one guessed it ... Best Thoughts.  I think the hydrangea is just beautiful!  My second favorite and nearly a tie was Awesomely Artistic, which Sheila W. guessed, so I WILL give her a prize for her good guessing.
All winners will receive a prize in with their orders... which should be arriving the first of this week!!!  I'll contact you when they're ready for pick up.  You're going to love all your new goodies!

Oh Happy Day! Embossed Stripes

Keeping my knee iced and elevated yesterday helped a lot.  I will be cautious today, but I'm ready to get creative!  Today's card is one we'll be making at my next Friday Night Cards class.  In playing with our new In Colors, I decided to create a card that uses ALL the new In Colors.  I came up with embossed stripes.  I love how all the colors work together.
Once again, I coordinated everything by decorating the envelope and the inside of the card with coordinating papers.  To add the ribbon, I tied one piece of ribbon around the card front.  Then, I tied a short piece of ribbon around the first piece, to add a more elegant look.
Embossing the layer of stripes adds a lot of great texture.  I decided that 1 little rhinestone would add the finishing touch.

Another Ribbons Card

Before we get started today, I want to remind you of my catalog Preview Party this Saturday, May 31, as well as several super fun classes I have planned for June.  Be sure to check them all out.  Now, for today's card ...

I used some more of my layered ribbons scraps to create another colorful ribbons card.  This one has no stamping at all ... yet ... as I want to wait and personalize it when I'm ready to send it to someone special.  I've decorated the inside of the card and the envelope flap so they all coordinate.

As I mentioned before... I'm loving the new In Colors!

Hello, Utah!

I am in Utah safe and sound.  Jenn and I will go for a swim and head to bed so we can start our Convention experience bright and early tomorrow.  In the meantime, here are some of my latest projects.
The top photo shows my new catalog display.  All the projects were made to coordinate with the cover on the new catalog.

 Here's a close-up of the paper flowers.

I found this neat old 'container' at an antique store that sold antiques and other 'neat stuff' --- like this.  I embossed and then colored in the flowers with reinkers.

Here are all the cards we'll be making at my In Color class on July 19.  They include all the new In Colors.  There will also be a bonus project.  Contact me to sign up for this class which includes template sketches for all the cards.  The fee is just $16.  Pay to register by July 17,

Island Indigo!

For our last new In Color, meet a gorgeous new shade of blue.

Creative Combination:
Island Indigo
More Mustard
Lucky Limeade
I used the hostess set again called 'Precious Butterflies.'  I love this stamped image.  I used VersaMark and then Island Indigo inks so I could emboss it with clear EP.  I think this will become one of my favorite stamp sets, too.

Sweet Set:
Island Indigo
Baja Breeze
Rich Razzleberry
'Just Believe' is such a great stamp set because it has so many images in it.  I embossed the Razzleberry and Baja stamped images (VersaMark and clear EP).  I added a tiny touch of bling with the little rhinestone in the center of the circular image.

Dynamic Duo:
Island Indigo
Pool Party
Once again, I used the Mother of Pearl technique for one of the background layers.  It adds so much texture and elegance while keeping with the monochromatic color combo.  I LOVE how this color looks when sponged over the Mother of Pearl layer.  I added more bling here with rhinestones.  The stamp set is 'Flight of the Butterfly.'

Wisteria Wonder!

It's no wonder this color is so popular already.  Lots of people were wishing for another shade of purple.  This delicate color will be a hit with purple lovers everywhere.

Creative Combination:
Wisteria Wonder
Lucky Limeade
Elegant Eggplant
For this card, I used one of the new hostess stamp sets called 'Precious Butterflies.'  I really like this set and it worked out beautifully for this card.  The color combo is a great one and I added a bit of sparkle with VersaMark and Iridescent Ice EP.  Notice the coordinating brads!  Love them!!!

Sweet Set:
Wisteria Wonder
Pink Pirouette
Cherry Cobbler
I never would have thought of putting these colors together but I really like the combo.  I used 'Pocket Silhouettes' and added a little bling to the tiny punched flowers with rhinestones.  Sorry the photo is a little shadowy.  I tried taking the photos outside today and there were too many shadows inside and outside.  I may have to upload these again at a future date.

Dynamic Duo:
Wisteria Wonder
Elegant Eggplant
I used 'Flower Fancy' and a simple template plan for this card.  I added a touch of elegance with the Mother of Pearl technique and a ruffled ribbon bow.  Again, I apologize for the shadows.  I needed to get this project done before leaving for Convention.  Haste makes waste:)

Pool Party!

What a great summer color.  It makes me want to go swimming:)

Creative Combination:
Pool Party
So Saffron
Not Quite Navy
The stamp set I used was 'Priceless.'  It's an old favorite that managed to stay in the new catalog.  I really like the Island Indigo ruffled ribbon.

Sweet Set:
Pool Party
Wild Wasabi
Chocolate Chip
The stamp set I used was 'Love and Care.'  It's a hostess set from the Summer Mini and a favorite of many stampers.  Did I mention how much I like the new ruffled ribbon?

Dynamic Duo:
Pool Party
Island Indigo
I used the stamp set 'Summer Splash' from the Summer Mini.  I love these cute little fish.

Lucky Limeade!

This is a great shade of green and very popular in the fashion industry right now.  I was shopping yesterday for some new outfits for Convention and kept running into this color everywhere.  It looks even better and brighter in real life.

Creative Combination:
Lucky Limeade
Riding Hood Red
Perfect Plum
The stamp set I used was 'Style Beautiful.'  Here, you see the coordinating ribbon (comes in every new In Color!) and I used a couple of circle punches, along with the decorative label punch.

Sweet Set:
Lucky Limeade
Island Indigo
Daffodil Delight
I used the stamp set 'Sunny Fun' from the Summer Mini, along with some more gorgeous ruffled ribbon.  I could become addicted to this ribbon.  The new In Colors have Stampin' Write Markers, too, so you can color your images to match the new CS.

Dynamic Duo:
Lucky Limeade
Always Artichoke
I used the new stamp set 'My Friend.'  This is a fabulous stamp set and is fast becoming one of my favorites.  You will notice a strip in the background using the Mother of Pearl technique.  This technique allows you to coordinate with any color combo you're using.  Check out the new printed brads.  These are equally fabulous!

Meet the new In Colors, starting with Calypso Coral!

The UPS man came yesterday and I got to unpack my new ribbons and brads + a few other goodies.  It's like Christmas every time he comes!

We'll start off with Calypso Coral.  This is a really pretty color and looks amazing with LOTS of color combos.

Creative Combination:
Calypso Coral
Baja Breeze
Daffodil Delight
The stamp set I used was 'Growing Green.'  I added little pearls to the flower centers for a touch of bling.  Isn't the new ruffled ribbon gorgeous?  It's very easy to work with it, too.

Sweet Set:
Calypso Coral
Riding Hood Red
Basic Gray
The stamp set I used was 'Touch of Kindness' from the Summer Mini.  This time I really used the ribbon --- lovin' it!

We're Waiting!

I'm anxious to show you my Color Coach projects for the new In Colors, but we're waiting for that brown truck to come back.  Toby Joe is always excited to get a delivery.  My order contains the ribbons and brads that go with the new In Colors and I want to use those on my projects.  It should get here sometime today.  Yay!  Then, I'll finish up my Color Coach project and head for Salt Lake City, Utah.  Keep checking back often for updates on what's happening at Convention.

More About the New 2011-2012 In Colors

Here's a card using all the new In Colors.  I love how all the colors go so well together.  You'll also see a sneak peek at a new border punch we have coming out on July 1.  I LOVE it!!!  The stamp set is one of our new Hostess sets.
