Happy Birthday!

Today is the second birthday of my sweet little Olive Jane.  How did 2 years go by so fast?

We will celebrate tomorrow afternoon, but she already received her big birthday present.  Her daddy made this himself and her mommy painted it.  When they gave it to her, she said:  "No way!!!!"  She is becoming quite fluent in trendy ways to say things!

She has become quite fascinated by Mim-me Mouse, so that will be her party theme.  My DIL chose to use photo invites this year --- really cute ones --- so we just had a few other things to get ready for the party.  We made a banner, favor boxes (to put treats in), thank you notes... and I even made a birthday hat.  I don't know if she will wear it for even a while, but we can always hope.

I will show you the party decorations in one of my next posts.  I have to go now.  I have a little apron to sew, to match her new kitchen!  See that hook in the top photo?  That's for the apron:)

My Sweet Olive Jane... A Funny Story with Pictures

We're officially snowed in today, so I thought I'd do a for fun post.  Enjoy!

These photos were taken when we had some Spring.  It lasted a few hours, at least.  Now, we seem to be back to Winter.  If pictures tell a story, what about this story?

Hi, I'm Olive Jane.  

I lead a very busy life!
I get up early and log in to plan my day.

My daddy keeps a close watch on me to see if I gather enough wood for the day.

Oh, I work sooooo hard!

We have a big fireplace.  I have to choose the right pieces of wood...

I do a dance to the trees...

I try a little hide and seek...

But then, it's back to work...

What?  You don't work this hard?

OK, more wood...

I'm thinking hard... What shall I plan for dinner?  OK, I know!

There, now that's decided.  How about a little more stick fun?

 Although I work very hard, I still try to plan a little fun into each and every day.

Oh, and I have to let the dogs out.  

While I'm here, I'd better gather some more wood.   Thank goodness, the wheel barrow is almost full!

Even the dog gets a rest time.

Now, I'm off to start the cleaning...

Maybe I can take a break and catch up on my reading...

But not for long... I have a call coming in... Yes, they expect me to take their calls, too!

Hello, Nanna?  Can you come and get me?  I have to work too hard here!


Well, I think I'm finished with my chores now.  It makes me feel like I'm sitting on top of the world!

I'd better get going now.  I suppose they'll expect me to do the laundry, make my own clothes and who know what all else.  Like I said, I lead a very busy life.
 
Now, shouldn't Nanna go and scrapbook these photos for me?

A Wonderful Party!

We had a great time at Olive Jane's party yesterday.  She was absolutely the most perfect party girl you could ever hope to see.  As the presents were opened, she wiggled all over with delight and actually hit her bare heels against the floor as she anxiously awaited getting to see each toy.  Then, she would clap and smile with delight.  What a doll!

She had a party at her sitter's, too, so she's been a regular party girl lately:)

As you can see, a Horton party is a perfect combination of expert crafting paired with perfect chefs!

Happy Birthday, my sweet little Olive Jane.  I cannot believe we've had you for one entire year already.  You have been such a blessing to our lives.  I'm the happiest Nanna in the world.

A Visit From my Favorite Little Girl

Aunt Jenn sent a toy piano for Olive Jane to try out.  She got her first opportunity tonight to check it out.
