Blended Seasons Christmas Card

Here's some fun news for you today, along with a fun Blended Seasons card for Christmas.  First the card and then more info on the drawing.
This card is in Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.  Instead of using the die cut piece for the main focal piece with stamped image, I used the negative portion as a frame.
I started with a 4 X 5 1/4" piece of CS (Shimmery White) and carefully centered the framelit.
I love how the framelit leaves a stitched edging around the frame, even on the negative portion of the die cut.  The darling little sprigs (Old Olive and Shimmery White) are a part of the framelits set and add the perfect touch to the card.
I love how this card turned out and hope you do, too.
And now ... about the drawing...
The drawing is for any customers who place orders (through me) in October and/or November.

Fall Birthday Card and a Little Fall Vignette

Here's another version of a Fall card I made using our Blended Seasons stamp set.  I made a big batch of these for the September birthday cards for our church to send out.  I'm actually using this same stamp set for their October birthdays and I'll be sharing that card soon.
I layered 2 punched pieces to create the focal piece of the card.
Notice how the top layer pops when you add a black mat behind it.
Here's a little Fall vignette for you to enjoy.  I made this sampler several years ago and am still enjoying displaying it each Fall season.

Tin Tile Fall Decor Project

I've worked on this project for a long time and am so happy to share it with you today.  We'll be making this project (minus the frame) at our Sept. 17 (note - a week later than usual) Scraps and Prayers class.  (Mon., Sept.10 is the deadline to pay to register for this class.)  This project was inspired by the framed project on page 42 in our new Holiday Catalog.  The first time I saw it, I could hardly wait for my pre-order to arrive so I could make my version of it.  And here it is.
I knew I wanted to use an 8 X 8" square frame, with a shallow shadow box look to it.  I looked high and low and the only ones that I could find did not have removable glass.  This project needs to show all the texture and dimension to the layers and would never look the same behind glass.

My solution:  I bought an inexpensive frame with a metal backing that had a text painted on it.  I simply covered it with DSP (after a little painting) and built my project from there.  I had to add an extra piece of Galvanized Metallic Paper, as well as DSP, but I made it work.
The star of the entire project is the 'tin tile' layer.  It is created using our new Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF --- an absolutely amazing embossing folder.  I added layers of ink over it, to give a slightly distressed/aged look to it.  An interesting thing about this project is that it mixes a variety of metals together --- copper, tin, gold glimmer --- while still maintaining a rustic look.
I know you've heard me say it before, but this was one of my most favorite projects ever.

Petal Pink 4 X 4 Cards

Here are two more cards today using the Blended Season stamps, just in a smaller size.  These cards show how simple you can make a card be with this set and yet still look really cute.
This is not a mailable size card, but I usually give these out in person or tucked into a gift or customer order.  You can even make an envelope to fit this card using the Envelope Punch Board (EPB).  If I decide to mail this size, I place it in the A4 size envelope.

Color Your Seasons Bundle / Petal Pink Card

Today's card is created using one of our new colors - Petal Pink.  I've never been a huge pink lover, but I do like this new shade.  It is very delicate and will make great Spring cards, not to mention baby girl cards.  My card today is inspired by a SU card using this bundle, but theirs was a smaller, square card.  I'll share a couple of my square cards with you later.  Today's card is full size.
I'm disappointed that my scoring details did not show up at all in the photo, but they add a lot to the card in person.  I scored 5 lines - 2 above the thank you and 3 below.  Scoring is a simple and easy way to add more texture and detail to your cards.  I played around with different types of a ribbon or bow on my card, but decided I liked it better without.  I used my Stamparatus to get the spacing exact on my wreath.  I'll share a tutorial on that at a later date.  Once I figured it out, it was so easy!
Come back soon to see my one more card I created for this class.
