Follow Your Art Card ... And a Good Laugh ... On Me

Before I share today, I'll give you a Toby Joe update.  We thought his knee injury had healed but, unfortunately, it has not.  He now has another 2 weeks of confinement in his future.  We hate this even more than he does!  They sedated him and took extensive X-rays yesterday and he doesn't have any cancer or growths in or on his bones and no fractures, but he does have severe arthritis in both hips... and the torn ligaments in his knee.  This dragging of his back feet may be his way of compensating for all that's going on with him.  He will be re-evaluated in two weeks and is still facing the possibility of surgery on his knee.  This is a huge concern because he is 12 years old now and will be 13 in September, but our vet told us that she has done this surgery many times on older dogs, so we have complete confidence in her.  Keep good thoughts for our Toby Joe, please.
And now, for today's post and a good laugh ... on me.
You can have a good laugh on me with today's card because, after meticulously cutting out the ribbons image, I then realized that there was a die in this new set - just for cutting this piece.  It was brand new and I'd forgotten about it.  Geez!  At least now I'll be more willing to cut and use this image again.  Anyway, I hope you like my card ... and you can quit laughing now, hee hee hee!  Hey, why are you still laughing?

Terracotta Tile and Crumb Cake?  Yes!

The ribbon is stiff and sturdy, but in a very good way.  It's easy to work with it and you can tie the knot pretty tight and press it down before attaching it.  Also, be sure you twist it around a bit, to get all the scalloped trim showing just right.  I used Liquid Tombow to attach it and then set a large punch on it while it dried.  

I really like how this card turned out.  This is another new set that I've barely scratched the surface on possibilities for using it.  Expect more on this one, too.

Inspiring Iris Somebody Loves You Card

I have a beautiful iris for you today.  This card uses a beautiful stamp set that I've barely scratched the surface on all the possibilities for how you can use it.  Let's get right to it, because I have to leave in a while to take my sweet Toby Joe to the vet.  He is dragging one of his back feet and I'm really worried about him.  Think good thoughts for us, please.
Here's my card:

I think an iris is a really beautiful flower.  I knew it would look gorgeous in an oval frame.  I stamped them onto the coordinating envelope, as well.  I colored in my flowers with Stampin' Blends.  I want to play around a lot more with this stamp set and use the coordinating stamps to stamp the color onto the flowers and the leaves.  Expect to see more about this set soon.

Right now, I have 2 books going, started a new series on Netflix, am treating both puppies for ear infections, am working on a series of cards to coordinate with our latest Paper Pumpkin kit (finished the actual kit:), am babysitting each day, and have started a series of cards using our Pressed Petals DSP.  I think that's enough projects to have going at one time.  Life is good ... except for asthma, allergies and arthritis.  I'm doing my best, but mornings are the pits.
Last night, one of the greatest loves of my life came over to play.  My sweet Joey and I had a ball.  He can play so imaginatively and is such a delight.  What a joy he is to me!

Parcels and Petals Birthday Card

I have a fun birthday card for you today.  It uses a lot of products from our new annual catalog.  Enjoy!

I stamped off for the flowers inside the frame, so they don't compete with the greeting and make it too difficult to read.  I love the little dots in the background.  They are on the same stamp as the flowers, so it's super easy to stamp.

I stamped the flowers on the coordinating envelope and then fussy cut some flowers to pop up on the outside of the beautiful frame.
