Marina Mist Diorama Card

As much as I love, love, love Marina Mist, I realized that my Marina Mist 'stash' in my armoir was getting lonely.  So... I got some out and came up with a cute little diorama card.  We'll be making this one at my class this Saturday (Aug. 15) and I can't wait to see how much fun they'll have making it. 

If you're really observant, you maybe noticed this one popping up in the side bar of my blog yesterday.  I've used a new stamp set (You're Sublime) and a new set of thinlits (Project Life Paper Clips Thinlits) to create this card.

I added some punched flowers to the outside of the card.  The card folds flat and fits in a regular envelope.  I used Dazzling Details for the centers of the punched flowers.  The center of the wheelbarrow on the inside of the card has one of our Metallic Rimmed Pearls.  Believe it or not, this is a pretty quick and easy card to make.

Another Super Fancy Card from our Class

Here's another fancy card from my class last night.  This one is a 5 1/4" square card, using the Greeting Card Kids stamp set.

My color story is Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, and Cherry Cobbler.  I embossed the Crumb Cake layer with snowflakes.

The images are colored using the Aqua Painter and several coordinating ink pads.  To add some sparkle, I went over parts of the images with Dazzling Details.  The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler seam binding.

I had some retired square envelopes for us to use with our cards, but you could always make your own with our Simply Scored Tool.

It's getting pretty exciting around here with boxes arriving on a daily basis for the gifts I ordered online.  I must say, this is an easy way to shop and be sure to get just what you need.  I have quite a wrapping job facing me:)  I did not order gift wrapping.


Please know that I have many thoughts and prayers going out to those in special need of them at this time of year.

We cannot always understand how or why these things can happen.  We just have to trust that, no matter what, God is there for us and will hold us in His loving arms.  I take comfort in trying to stamp things for others, in hopes of bringing joy to their lives in some small way.  God bless you all.

Snowman and Company

I love the little snowman from the No Peeking stamp set.  He's just stinkin' cute.  Here are the results of my playing in the snow with him.

As you can see, I've used circle punches and the Boho Blossoms punch to create a wreath around the opening.  I also made a shaker card version of this snowman.  It looks just the same except that it has white mica flakes and glitter inside a little treat cup over the opening.

 

I stamped snowflakes onto the background, using the Snowflake Soiree stamp set and then embossed the sentiment with our gorgeous Pewter EP.  The final touches:  a beautiful Cherry Cobbler bow and Cherry Cobbler accents with Dazzling Details.  It's like a glitter glue and super easy to use, not to mention --- no loose glitter all over the place.

Inkin' in the Land of Lincoln

At our last Team Meeting (Inkin' in the Land of Lincoln) we decided to have a shoebox swap at our October meeting.  It was so much fun.  I'd like to share with you the projects that were created by those who were able to participate.

I shared a project that is a little treat holder.  A variety of goodies would fit inside the holder, so you could choose what you'd like to put in it.  For this one, we used a tea bag --- a low cal treat:)  I used a sheet from our Snow Festival DSP that has little squares on it.  You can cut it up and use it for individual tags or designs.  I added little dots of cherry cobbler Dazzling Details, for a touch of bling.  We'll be making these at my Touch of Christmas class and I'll have a tutorial on them in a later post.

Laura's project was a treat bag using our Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit.  I love the little flag strips of Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP.  We embossed the bags and added a treat inside.  Who will get this treat?

Jenn's project was a Fall card using the Wonderfall stamp set.  The leaf is die cut using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die.  I love her color combo:  Perfect Plum, More Mustard and Cajun Craze.  It is gorgeous together!

Lynn's project  was a gorgeous Christmas card.  Using the colors from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, she went with Island Indigo as the card base, with a touch of Cherry Cobbler and Brushed Silver CS for the mats.  The ornament is embossed with Pewter EP (She used silver.) and then another layer added to the ornament, embossed with white EP.  We tied the ornament with a little Cherry Cobbler baker's twine.  We added some dry embossing too, with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder.  The text is from More Merry Messages.

As you can see, I have a talented bunch of ladies.  Before I go, I'd like to share one more project with you from my team.  Here is a bottle tag that Laura made using my double pocket treat holder idea.  Isn't this a clever way to use it!

Gingerbread Garland

Here's a cute Christmas card I made using the little gingerbread man from the Scentsational Season stamp set.  I wanted it to look like a gingerbread garland, so I made 3 little men, using the framelits to quickly cut them out.

I wanted them to have a vintage look, so I added some sprigs of pine from the Watercolor Winter stamp set.  I also sponged around the edges, to really get into the vintage look.  To create the garland effect, I used linen thread behind the gingerbread men.  I didn't really want to make holes in them, so I just added the linen thread behind them and popped them up with dimensionals.  At one side of the garland, I added a bow with long ties, using linen thread.

Sometimes, it's the extra little details that can really make a card.  Notice that I sponged around each gingerbread man and the scallop oval tag, as well.  I stamped off to lightly add a sprig of pine over the tag.  The buttons on the gingerbread men are really dots of cherry cobbler Dazzling Details.  It's like a glitter glue --- glitter without the mess --- love it!  The finishing touches were a glimmer brad on the tag and linen thread around the cherry cobbler seam binding.

Beau Chateau Mini Album

This is a project we started at our last Scrapbook Club crop.  We're going to add more to it at our Feb. crop.  We used Beau Chateau DSP.  I added Chantilly Crochet Trim + Blushing Bride ribbons.  The front and back covers are chipboard covered with DSP.  The pages are coordinating colors of CS to match the covers.  I stamped on the pages and the front cover with our Creative Elements stamp set.  After punching the holes for the album (crop-A-dile) I used binder rings to hold the album together.  These can be easily removed so you can add more pages any time you'd like.

I stamped a lot of extra flowers, so I could cut out portions of them and layer them with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added a tiny dot of Dazzling Details (clear) to the center of each flower.  Mini albums are so much fun to make.  You can use them as a mini scrapbook, an extra special card with multiple pages or, as I'm planning, for a special Valentine for my sweetheart.  Happy Stamping!
