Dear Doily Brusho Card / 2 Versions

One thing I love about Brusho is that you can do the same technique but it always comes out a little different.  Here are two cards using the emboss resist technique.  Each background is different.  I especially like the one with a little touch of green.
You can emboss the images before or after the background on these cards.  The one on the left was embossed before creating the Brusho background and the one on the right was stamped after creating the Brusho background.
Which card do you like the best?

Ink On TIEF Technique

If you're one of my regular customers, you should have received your brand new annual catalog in the mail this week.  Isn't it great!  You can start ordering from it on June 4!  Now, on to today's card project.
In case you don't remember what the 'TIEF' stands for, it's Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I have a really fun technique to share with you today, using a TIEF and ink.  Here it is!
I inked the bumpy side of the TIEF with Lovely Lipstick and ran it through the Big Shot with pink CS and this is the result.  I love it!  It gives a really unique look to the embossed layer of the card.
I hope you'll give this technique a try.  It's really fun and super easy.  When you're finished, just run the TIEF under the faucet and rinse it clean.  Pat it dry with a paper towel and let it finish air drying.

White Embossed Brusho Card

I have a beautiful card to share with you today, along with some product info that we talked about at my Spring Open House Party last Sunday (carried over from the Holiday Catalog) ... and ... the party winners!!!  I had lots of winners, so keep scrolling down and enjoy today's post.

Here is a sneak peek at one of the cards we'll be making at our April Scraps and Prayers class.  It uses a technique called the Emboss Resist technique.  Instead of doing the technique with ink, we'll be using Brusho.
Adding a layer of Whisper White AND Basic Black behind the top layer really steps up the card.
I embossed the front of the envelope and the flap and then added Brusho.
Here's the flap of the envelope:
What a fun card and I think it's really pretty.  I intentionally left off any sentiment, so I could have endless options for how to use it when I need a card right away.  It's ready for a nice note inside and off it goes for someone special to enjoy.  You can add a sentiment before you send it if you want one.  I cannot stress enough how much a card in the mail means.  We all need to step up our efforts of sending cards once we make them.  Let's spread the joy!

The Wonderful Romance stamps set is still available, but the coordinating thinlits are NOT.  I checked with our home office and Stampin' Up! told me they'd had some issues with their supplier and had now depleted their inventory and could not get any more of the thinlits.  So sorry.  They were pretty.

I enjoyed reading about which cards or projects inspired people the most and when they shared which improvements/changes they liked best in my 'new' studio.  Most popular were the lighting, the displays (spread throughout the room), the new paint color, and the openness.  Thanks!  I agree!  I love that we have more room ... and we seem to need it, as we continue to grow our numbers.

The party orders went in at the end of the day on March 19.  I'll let you know when they get here and I get them all sorted for you.  YOUR PRIZES WILL BE IN WITH YOUR ORDERS.
