How about a Mint Macaron card?  This is a color I confess to not liking too well, for a long time.  It is growing on me.  I find that the tone of it changes a lot, depending on how you pair it with other colors.

Pressed Petals ... More Journals

Well ... we're trying to get back to normal around here ... or, at least closer to normal.  At this stage of our grief, we're left with a big, empty spot in our hearts.  There's also the overwhelming feeling of being the only one left in the immediate family to settle all the final affairs.   We feel a fatigue that goes to our very bones.
The memorial service was Tuesday and it was just beautiful.  We were so touched by so many friends who came to pay their respects and by family who traveled 8 or more hours to be there.  All of my 4 grandchildren were there and 5 of Ilah's great grandchildren were there ... the youngest being just a few weeks old.
One of the most touching moments to me was seeing a very long row of chairs filled with Ilah's PEO sisters from her chapter.  That was so special to me.  Being a PEO member myself, I know how close the bonds of PEO sisters can be and how much it means in your life. 
We're still receiving beautiful cards ... and gorgeous flowers ... from friends of ours.  I have a ton of thank you notes to make and send. 
It's time to try to focus on something closer to normal, to take our minds off the grief and unbelievable exhaustion.  So ... I have some more journals for you today.  I love these!

Pressed Petals Series, Part 4 ... Card 2

Happy Monday!  Are you ready for another fun card?  Relax and enjoy ... and then go create something of your own:)

Remember these little squares?  We're using the one on the left (below) to create today's card.  The card base is Merry Merlot.  I had some fun teaching Joey to say this the other night.  He wanted to know "What color is Nanna's car?  It's not red and it's not brown."  I taught him that it's Merry Merlot, which came out "Merwee Marow."  He is so much fun to hang with.  He just brings sunshine into my day.

Here are more views of my card.  I've added a few more fussy cut pieces to the front of my card, as well as the inside ... and more die cut leaves from my stash.  My leaf stash is almost gone now.  Time to cut some more:)

The leaves are not only die cut, but embossed as well.  I was so happy to see a Fall set in our new Holiday catalog that has die cut leaves that are embossed, as well --- in 3 sizes.  Yippee!!!  Check it out when you get your new Holiday Catalog.  It's the Gather Together Bundle.

I think the layer of foil behind the DSP square just adds so much to this card.  You'll see this design again soon, I promise:)

By the way, the top embossed layer of my card is Rococo Rose.  I really like it with the Merry Merlot.  Hope you enjoyed today's card and will come back soon for yet more.

Pressed Petals Series, Part 4 ... Card 1

I have a LOT of cards to share with you ... all of them involve a lot of fussy cutting.  Prepare yourself.  By the way, if you set up a way to do your fussy cutting while you're relaxing and listening to music or have on the TV, it IS very relaxing and I've actually come to enjoy fussy cutting.  Give it a try.  You'll see.
Before we start out on the adventure of my 'card series' I'd like to give a little explanation.  All of these cards involve figuring out how to use the sheet of DSP that has all the little squares and rectangles on it.  By the end of my series, you'll see that I've used them all.  Here's the sheet to which I am referring ... before anything is cut apart...

Just carefully cut them all apart and start designing.  My first card will use the square below on the right.  You'll see both of these squares again on some of my journals, too.

... and now... here's my first card ...

I absolutely LOVE the embossed foil!  It's so pretty!  The card base is Merry Merlot.  I've used left over leaves from previous die cuts.  I keep a little bag of them close by, as they come in very handy.  I've fussy cut a few extra flowers from a second sheet of DSP to add to the dimensions of my card.  You get 2 of each design in your DSP package.

Calypso Coral Birds 2 Ways

I designed a full-sized card and then used the same dimensions, figured out my scoring, and came up with a second design for a card.  Here's what I created.

Here's my first design.

The DSP is so pretty, it can be used as as focal piece!

Here's my new design.

I love that it worked out to use the same card base dimensions.  I used the Stamparatus to perfectly position both images on the inside of my card.

You could add more white CS on the back of the front flap (on the inside) if you wanted to write more.

This is such a cute design!  It was fun and super easy to create it.

Again, here are both cards ... complete with coordinating envelopes.

A Beautiful 'Hi' Card ... Times Three!

I have a card to share with you today that I just love ... but wait ... I have three cards!  The first is Gorgeous Grape, so what's not to love! 

I added Wink of Stella to the letters.  I mixed up some Brusho to watercolor a little background behind the letters.

Now, take the piece from which you cut your letters and use it for a second card.

I love how you can see all the movement from the Brusho in the background. 

The card on the left (below) was created in Bermuda Bay and was my inspiration for the Gorgeous Grape card.  I love them both!

Who Says You Can't Have an Island Indigo Sunflower?

I wanted to create a second Fall card for my Saturday Stampers class and have it be a little unexpected.  I love how this one turned out.  I'll be anxious to hear how others feel about an Island Indigo sunflower.

 I'll continue to keep sharing more details about the cards for this class.  In the meantime, I thought you might like to go ahead and take a peek at all of them.  I'll share more about them in another post.
