Advent Calendar Project

Here's a little project that I've been 'meaning to work on' for at least 2 or 3 years now.  I made up my mind that it would no longer be sitting in my 'stash' just waiting for me to come work on it.  I think it turned out pretty cute.
I attached the papers with Mod Podge so they would be protected.  I punched a hole and added a ribbon 'pull' to make it easier to open each drawer.
For now, I decided to not add numbers to it because I didn't want to cover up any more of the tiny picture squares.  I could change my mind later.  I added a wider ribbon all around the entire box and tied it in a pretty bow at the top.  It was windy when I took the photo, so it's blowing up in the air a bit in some of the shots:)
Do you have a 'stash' of projects just waiting for you to come get them and work on them?  Grab them and get them finished.  It's a really GOOD feeling to finally get caught up on at least something in your life:)

Double Pocket Gift Card Holder

I'm so happy to be back in the blog world after a horrible bout with a stomach bug of some sort.  I'll spare you the details.  Today, I have a gift card holder to share with you, along with news about many wonderful products that are soon to retire.
Here's my little double pocket gift card holder.
Score your bag 4" up from the bottom and fold, as shown.  It will create 2 pockets.  You can use this design with other sizes of bags, just by adjusting where you need to place your fold.
You can place Christmas greetings, a favorite photo, a small, flat treat, or a gift card in one or both pockets.  You're limited only by your imagination.
Now, for the news.
Stampin' Up! is trying something new this year --- putting out a list of what will soon to be retiring from our current Holiday Catalog.  If one of more of these items is on your 'wish list' --- PLEASE --- do not wait to order or it may already be sold out.
Here's a link to the retired list and to help you with your shopping.

Sneak Peek at Four of My Cards

Here's more of a sneak peek at 4 of my cards that I made for our Nov. 21 Christmas Retreat.  They each have special techniques.  I had a lot of fun making each and every one of them.
The 2-ornament card has beautiful silver embossing.
The snowflake card has heat embossing and dry embossing.
The snowy trees card uses a dryer sheet technique.  In real life, it's covered in gorgeous sparkle.
The 4th card uses the negative image from the ornament die.  The CS is then dry embossed.  The DSP showing in the opening is covered with VersaMark ink and then embossed with Iridescent Ice EP, a favorite technique of mine.  In real life, it has a gorgeous sparkle, too.

I still have 2 more cards to design.  What shall I create next?  Oh the fun!!!

So... who wants to party?  Don't forget to RSVP for my Christmas Open House this Sunday, November 1.  It's from 2:00-5:00 and we'd love to have you.  Don't forget about the clocks changing, too.
