Blessings and Banners Projects, Part 1

I'm excited to share a couple of special projects with you.  Today, I'll share my little Blessings Album with you and then, in my next post, I'll share my Blessings Banner.  We'll be making these at my Oct. 23 Blessings and Banners Class.

The album was made using our Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit.  Yes, you read that right.  A kit doesn't always have to be used in just the way it was designed.  Think outside the box (or outside the kit) and you are limited only by your imagination.
The piece with the pocket is already cut and scored for you.  If you look on page 2 in our Holiday Catalog, you can see it with a napkin inside the pocket.  I made a little mini album to place inside the pocket.  I chose to use the Thankful card as a cover for my little album.  All I had to do was add some blank pages of coordinating CS, punch holes in the top, and add some of our gorgeous chevron ribbon.  Even the belly band and the leaves were already cut.  Super simple and so cute.  Total fun!!!

Tip:
Tie your ribbon loosely, or you will not be able to turn your pages.
You get a White Stampin' Chalk Marker with the kit, so you can write anything you want on the cute little chalkboard label.
This was a super simple project because it all started with a kit.  I love how it turned out.  I still have left-over pieces that I plan to use to make some cards.

Check back for my next post and see my Blessings Banner.  It coordinates with today's album AND the Fall Wreath we made at my September Stamp Club.

Using a Kit in a New Way: Thankful Chipboard Album

I love when you can come up with new and different ways to use a kit.  At Convention, we saw how to use the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit to make a little album.  I actually came up with a way to make 2 different albums, using the same kit.  The album I'm sharing today is the one we'll be making at my Sept. 9 Scraps and Prayers class.  I can't wait to make it with them!

I decided to make this album be a long and tall album.  I used chipboard scraps from odds and ends of packaging for the front and back covers.  I always save the packaging because it comes in handy for a lot of projects.
The pleated piece across the middle of the album is actually intended to be a wrap, to decorate around a candle.  So is the 'birch' piece behind it.

I love all the rich texture and layers on the cover.  I will share a second little album I made from this same kit in a future post.  At that time, I'll give you a break-down of all I was able to make using 1 kit.   Now, don't get me wrong, I think the kit is great as an actual tablescape and I will be ordering a second kit to use for just that.  I think it will make a beautiful table for my Thanksgiving company.  Now, let's just hope we end up having family at our house this year.  Oh well.  If not, I'll save it for next year.  It's that pretty!
