Paper Pumpkin: I'll Be Yours Mini Album

Want some ideas for your latest Paper Pumpkin kit?  Try these.

Click here to see a fun video using this Paper Pumpkin kit.

I decided to take all my treat bags, lace them together and make a little mini album.  I did this a long time ago with a Christmas kit and loved it.
Here's what I made with the current kit.
The envelopes are printed with the pretty corner design on both sides.
You can use the little envelopes to tuck in photos, little notes, coupons, or whatever your imagination directs you to do.
I'm sending this little album to my sweet Olive Jane.  She loves little things like this.

Special Reminders and a Beautiful Mini Album

I want to share a closer look at my mini album with you today.  This is made from envelopes, CS and the most gorgeous DSP ever.  I'll be showing this at our February Scraps and Prayers class, even though we'll be doing a different project (for Valentine's Day!).   Enjoy seeing it and then keep scrolling for some important reminders.
I added some decorative scoring to the spine.  The dragonfly on the front has some sparkle from Wink of Stella.  Love that stuff.  I think I've used up a couple of pens already!  I added some spatters of sparkle by holding my Wink of Stella pen over the album cover and tapping it lightly.  Also, you can't see them, but there are cards in each of the envelopes.  These can later be decorated, used for journals or for photos.
Now, for some important reminders:
FIRST:  New Catalogs:
I totally forgot to preorder catalogs to be mailed to you.  I have plenty in my studio and have tried to hand out a bunch already.  Contact me if you need a catalog and you can come pick up one, along with the S-A-B catalog.  You're going to love them both!
SECOND:  Class Projects:

LAST, BUT NOT LEAST:  My next class.

Wildflower Fields Envelope Mini Album

Sometimes, when I have a bunch of gorgeous papers on hand, I feel like making an envelope mini album.  This one will be for my April Scraps and Prayers Group.  I think we'll have a great time making it.
The papers are so pretty that I tried to come up with a way to show off how beautifully they coordinated.
I used 2 shades of CS for the leaves.
It's decorated front and back and can actually hold a lot of photos or mementos.
It has 6 envelopes and I cut CS pieces to fit into the openings of the envelopes on the front side of the album.  I used magnets to help hold it closed.
This was a great project and I love how it turned out.  This is one of those that fell into place and just evolved into a finished project.  The DSP designs constantly guide you.

A Christmas Mini Album

I finished the Christmas mini album that we'll be making at our next Scraps and Prayers and can't wait to share it with you today.  It's design is a bit versatile and could be changed in several ways.
I designed a belly band to go around mine and couldn't seem to get the right fit to keep it around the album but still be able to slip it on and off easily.  So... I came up with using a magnetic closure.  I cut a magnet to size and used it to secure the belly band.
When you open the album, it has 3 sections and you can decorate it to your heart's desire.  I used a different paper for the flaps and then used scallop circles to hold the flaps shut.
I adhered each side of the lower flaps to form pockets.  You could leave them loose and add more photos on the lower flaps.  With the 3 pockets, I thought you could use them to hold 2 or 3 photos each.
Below... all the flaps are open.
Here's a closeup of the decorations I used to embellish the front of the album.  They are all attached to the belly band.
Another idea:
Leave the lower flaps open, attach a photo to the center flap and stamp/write messages and add stamped images on the outer 2 flaps.  This would make a wonderful Christmas card for special friends and family.
Before you go...
I thought you might like to learn more about our Scraps and Prayers group.
How do we begin:
We have the best time ever!  We start with a brief chit chat time and then have a brief devotional time.  We then move on to share joys and concerns, and close with a prayer lifting up our loved ones and thanking God for our blessings.
What do we make:
We make whatever I feel like throwing at the group.  We seem to enjoy every project I plan for our group.  We've made scrapbook layouts, decor projects, projects to make little gifts, ornaments, mini albums, and lots more.
Contact me if you have questions or would like to join our group.  Everyone is welcome!

One More Mini Album

In my previous post, I shared a style of scrapbooking... using mini albums.  I have one more mini album for you before we move on to another style of scrapbooking.  I call this one my Merry Mini Album.  It's made from our Gratitude for Days kit.
This little album would be great to hold Christmas memories.  Each page has a 'pocket' for holding a journaling card.  You could add a photo in with the card to each pocket or attach your photo directly to the journaling card.

For more ideas, check out this video by Sara Douglas.

Styles of Scrapbooking, Mini Albums

Mini albums are a big step away from traditional scrapbooking.  They are cute and they are fun and just a totally different way to showcase special memories.  I have a lot of samples to share with you, so sit back and enjoy!

3.
mini albums
--- using a mini album or squash book type album to showcase your memories of an event.  These can be paper bag books, CS (card stock) mini albums, or even digital albums, such as Swatch Books.  I'll share a Swatch Book when we get to the post on digital scrapbooking.

My Ribbon Techniques Album is finished!

In spite of being a little 'under the weather' for 2 days now and cutting a hole in my finger, I've been busy working on finishing up my Ribbon Techniques Album AND setting up a new Project Life display on my library table.  The display is looking good and my album is so chubby that it will not close flat!  In the midst of it all, the doorbell keeps ringing and new goodies keep arriving.  This is a major challenge to my ability to focus:)

First up:
My Ribbon Techniques album is all finished and, as you can see, it is sporting a new cover.  I finally got around to trying something that's been on my 'must try' list for a very long time --- stitching on CS.  It's so much fun!  I will be doing this a lot, now.  Here's a little sneak peek for you.  Hello, my chubby little album.  It is full of 46 samples of unique ways to use ribbons.  Can you believe it?  I've had so much fun making this!  Normally, I wouldn't want to put up with an album looking this full, but this is a technique album and I've made it to be interactive.  The reason:  I know I'll be adding more pages in the future.  At that point, I will probably split the album into 2 parts.  Oh the fun!  It shows all kinds of unique things you can do with ribbons, including a little bit of Baker's Twine here and there.  Isn't this pretty?  I just love it!!!
If you look carefully, you'll see that I've used ribbons in 5 different ways on the new cover.  Such ribbon goodness!  I wonder what could be in the pocket in the photo below?  I'll bet it's a special surprise!
Here's a view from the top.  Now, do you believe me when I say it's full of ribbon goodness?
This class is going to be so much fun!

Next up:
I've started working on a new display.  For the beginnings of my new display, I've made a banner from some of the new Project Life cards.  I've kept it simple, to showcase the products.  I'll be adding embellishments soon... because these cute little cards are just begging to have some 'embellies' on them:)  I'll be giving you updates on this as I add more details and more fun items to the display.
One thing to mention is that my studio is constantly changing and evolving.  It's already changed since I took this photo a couple of days ago.  That's what keeps me constantly inspired to create something wonderful each day.  I hope I can inspire you to make something beautiful, too.

Coming Up ... In my next posts:
More Project Life
Card-In-A-Box creations --- 5 sizes!
