Paper Pumpkin I'll Be Yours: Highland Heather Card

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!  My sweetheart loves purple, so I chose Highland Heather for his Valentine's Day card.
I'm loving our new Coastal Weave 3-D embossing folder.  You'll find it on page 39 in our Occasions Catalog (2020).  It's in the Tropical Oasis suite.
Look at the wonderful embossed texture!  This embossing folder lends an entirely different look, depending on how you pair it up with other papers and layers.
How about these cute little flowers.  Just stamp the little square from the Paper Pumpkin kit and punch out the flower shapes with our Sale-A-Bration Small Bloom punch.  I used more of the little flowers to decorate the inside of my card.
You can use the little square stamp to stamp a coordinating envelope.  It's photopolymer, so it's pretty easy to line it up and stamp the entire envelope flap.

Paper Pumpkin: I'll Be Yours Mini Album

Want some ideas for your latest Paper Pumpkin kit?  Try these.

Click here to see a fun video using this Paper Pumpkin kit.

I decided to take all my treat bags, lace them together and make a little mini album.  I did this a long time ago with a Christmas kit and loved it.
Here's what I made with the current kit.
The envelopes are printed with the pretty corner design on both sides.
You can use the little envelopes to tuck in photos, little notes, coupons, or whatever your imagination directs you to do.
I'm sending this little album to my sweet Olive Jane.  She loves little things like this.

Happy Valentine's Day

I've had my driving set aside for awhile until my the swelling in my knees goes down a lot more.  I've had my beloved shots yesterday and have some relief already.  By postponing my shot for my shoulder for 3 more weeks, I was able to get the full dose in my knees this time... a MUCH better plan.  So... while I'm home resting, I just wanted to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day... Eric Carle style:)

Hey, Valentine!

Happy Valentine's Day!  Here's a cute little card I made just for today.  It's the same pirate from my little treat bags for Aaron's class.  By the way, when he saw the completed treat bags, he told his mom:  "Nanna did a really good job coloring."  Gotta love that little guy.  He spent at least 5 minutes choosing which crayon heart to give to his teacher (sweet) so I made hers a little fancier.
I love this little pirate.  I am partial to him partly because Aaron loves all things pirate so much and partly because he's just stinkin' cute.
I used a few of the little hearts that were punched out from the Cherry Cobbler layer to add to the image, as embellishments.
With my bum knee and all, I didn't get many projects made this year for Valentine's Day.  Sigh... let's move on, anyway.  One good thing about being an artist... there's always another project to be made and it's waiting just around the corner.  Have a Happy Heart Day today!

Time Out for Valentine's Day

I am thrilled to say that my journal project is coming along well and I'll have photos to share with you very soon.  But first, time out for Valentine's Day.  I want to share with you what I made for Aaron's class at school.  They have their parties today.  I hope his asthma is better so that he can go, but I'm doubtful that he will.  He was home with me yesterday.  Maybe these will cheer him up.
Yes, that's a crayon!  Take a silicone heart mold (cupcake pan) and melt up a bunch of old crayons.  I gave the heart molds to my daughter, gave her the idea, and she happily used up a bunch of their old and broken crayons.

Come back for my next post and I'll share a darling little Valentine's Day card I made... and then we'll get on to my new journals.

Place Cards from Thinlits Circle Card Die

What a bummer!  I made all the place cards and table markers and then was too sick to even go to the Valentine's Day Love and Laughter event.  I am pretty sick now and don't even have a voice.  My husband is so disappointed:)  Anyway, I waited until today to share these with you, so I wouldn't give anyone a peek too soon.
Table markers... and place card...
I made lots...
... and lots...
... and lots...
... and lots:) The white strip is for the helpers to write in names and table assignments.  I put a dot of glitter glue on each of the 3 little hearts.  I think they all turned out pretty cute.
Would you like to know how to make a place card?  Come back soon and I will share with you just how I made the place cards.  I will include directions for making my Thinlits Circle Card calendars, too.  Be sure you don't miss out!

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the blog world.
Have a great day and come back soon for more design inspiration.

Love What I Do... Share What I Love

Our Stampin' Up! Statement of the Heart is:
'To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments... in this we make a difference!"  I recently enjoyed putting this concept to work by sharing some of my little treats.  They look like baby file folders!
Saturday, I had a doctor's appointment in Springfield.  I decided to take Valentine's Day treats with me and just randomly pass them out to any of the healthcare workers with whom I came into contact.  They loved them and it brought me so much joy to share them.  I have the highest regard for my surgeon.  He is fabulous.  He replaced both of my hips, years ago when no one else would believe me as to how much they hurt.  They all thought I was too young for hip problems and so they didn't even look into it.  When I finally got referred to my surgeon, he discovered that I had no cartilage in my hip joints!  He is now helping me with my knee problems and Saturday, he gave me the good news that I would not need further knee surgery --- at this time.  He did say that the arthritis is really bad in both knees and gave me cortisone shots in both.  So far, so good.  When you need healthcare help, go to the best.  Going to him means an hour trip --- one way --- and Saturday we passed 7 or 8 vehicles in the ditch, all with people in them.  One was a semi with the trailer turned completely on its side.  It did look like no one was hurt and they all had someone helping them, so that was very good.  I'm thankful for a safe vehicle that holds the road well and a husband willing to drive me.

So, would you like to see my treats that I made?  Here you go!
Aren't they cute?  Here are some close-ups:
The candies are held in place by wrapping the Gold Bakers Twine around the baby file folder.  I didn't use any adhesive on it at all.  I did use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach my punched pieces.  The gold foil punched piece didn't photograph as well as I'd hoped, but I think you can get the idea.
I've been seeing a lot of these on the net, all kinds of versions and just had to try my own.  They're quick and easy and, thus, a bit addicting.  I just kept making them until all my Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares were gone.  I actually got through it without eating even one!  That's probably a first:)  Come back soon for more projects using the Envelope Punch Board.  I've been working on quite a few --- so much fun and unbelievably addictive!

A Few Cards to Share with You

Today, while I continue sorting my photos and recouping from our trip, I have some cards to share with you.  These are 2 that were made for a special order --- 'must have bling and music' and were for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day.  Enjoy!

Would you believe it?  I got the treble clef paper clip at Staple's!  I thought it added the perfect touch.

Now, would someone please slap me awake?  It seems like it's taking a loooonnnnnnng time to snap back into gear.  Maybe I'm suffering from shock from all the fabulous things we saw and did at Convention.  I plan to work all day in my studio.  We'll see how that works out for me:)  Have a good day and thanks for stopping by!

A Sunday Treat

Who doesn't like a little treat now and then --- to give or to receive?  The Petite Pocket die makes a wonderful 'holder' for fun little gifts.  I wanted to make a non-candy treat for Valentine's Day so I came up with these:
The cute little heart stamp is from one of our special promotions.  I really like it.  I wrapped the Petite Pocket treat containers with Baker's Twine that I didn't use from the Sealed with Love Simply Sent Kit that I used to make my Valentine's Day banner.  The scallop circle is punched from our red Glimmer Paper.  I made about 12 of these packets for Valentine's Day.  They're quick and easy and --- with pencils inside --- they are non-fattening!
