Black and White and Crushed Curry Card

Here's a card that will surely brighten someone's day.  The color story is perfect and the design is simple ... and yet very pretty.  The thinlits make it a fun card to create, too.  AND... it has polka dots ... one of my favorite designs.
I used the black layer to bring out the polka dots and help make the botanicals the star of the design.
I leave off a greeting more times than not on a card like this.  Doing so keeps your options open for how you will use it.  I love to keep cards like this on hand for just sending a cheery note to someone special.  You can add a sentiment before sending or just use it like this, as a beautiful note card.
Go ahead.  Make up some pretty cards like this one and have them ready to go whenever you know someone needs a cheery note added to their day.  It brings joy to you AND to the recipient.

Traditional + Project Life Completed Layout

One of the many things that makes me happy is spending time with my grandchildren.  Next best is completing scrapbooking layouts featuring my grandchildren.  At one of our last Scraps and Prayers, we made a Traditional + Project Life Layout and I recently completed mine, using photos of my sweet Olive Jane.  I love this layout!

What A Fun Class We Had!

We had a wonderful class last night and had so much fun.  We did a really fun layout design where I combined Traditional Scrapbooking with Project Life Scrapbooking.  They blended together beautifully.  I feel so blessed to be able to lead a group such as this one.
I just love how these turned out.  I need to get out some photos and get busy finishing up this layout.
The large black photo mat is an 8 1/2" square.  I thought you could add one larger photo on it or stagger several smaller ones.  You could even do a 4-photo layout on this page inside the black square.
The plain Crushed Curry and Black CS sections are for photos.

I still have two openings for Saturday's class:

Affectionately Yours ... 4 Ways

Here's a fun way to come up with 4 really pretty cards.  Use your grid paper to figure out the sizes you'd like for each section of your card.  Cut 4 different designs of DSP and divide them up.  Rearrange them and you end up with 4 coordinated cards.  These would be fun to use as a boxed gift set.
When you read my description, it probably seems confusing but, once you see the cards, I think it's easy to get the idea.
Once I had my 4 pieces attached to my Night of Navy layer, I decided to emboss this entire layer.  I love the look!  It reminds me of a seersucker fabric.
Isn't this DSP just gorgeous?  I fell in love with it right away.
I used our Thick Whisper White CS for a nice, sturdy card base.
Adding the die cut flowers, just made the perfect finishing touch for this card set.
Have a fabulous weekend.  If you live in the area, I hope you'll stop by for my Open House/Catalog Party (June 26 / 2:00-5:00) and you can see these cards in person.

Botanicals Neutral Card

I love the vintage look of a fancy, neutral card.  I have one for you today.
Notice how I used linen thread with the wide ribbon.  This is one of my favorite looks for ribbons on cards.
... and there you have it ... quick and easy and very pretty.

3" Cuties, Cards 6 and 7

I have two more 3" cuties to share with you today.  These are the last of the bunch.
This one is done with a Sahara Sand card base.  I sponged a few highlights onto the 'brick wall' background, along with a stamped off image at the bottom corner.  It adds a lot of texture to it.
Sadly, this dotted embossing folder is retiring, but I hang onto most of my embossing folders.  When a new catalog comes out, I try my best to purge my stamps, but I have trouble letting go of any of my Big Shot items.  Anyway, most people who are not demonstrators hang onto their products, so I like to show them ways they can still use them and combine them with some of our new products.
I did a major purge of my punches this last week, which is a big deal for me.  I will be having a nice big sale as a part of my Open House/New Catalog Party on June 26.  If you live in the area, you'll want to drop over for the party and enjoy some great deals, some new Make and Take projects, and a ton of fun.

3" Cuties, Cards 4 and 5

Let's double the fun again today and look at two more of my 3" cuties.
I've used lots of layers, dry embossing and die cuts to add tons of texture to these cards.  Even a tiny card can have all these elements.
The little ties on the bow clip are Baker's Twine.
I love the soft blues, greens and neutrals.
Be sure to come back to see my last two 3" cuties in my next post.

3" Cuties, Cards 2 and 3

I decided to double up on the fun and share 2 cards today.
I've used dry embossing and stamped, cut pieces to add lots of texture.
I love the soft colors.
I also added a bit more texture with some light and delicate sponging.

Thankful for the Little Things

I'm thankful today for so many little things... sweet little children and furry babies encouraging me on to continue to regain my strength after being so sick.  I'm thankful that I can now stay up for at least 3 hours before becoming exhausted.  I'm thankful for a dental check-up today with no cavities.  And... I'm thankful for a little stamping.  When I say little, I really mean it.  These little guys were made as a 'just for fun' stamping project ... and they were truly fun.
These little guys are just 2" square.
These would be great for gift enclosure cards.  I didn't make envelopes because I thought I'd slip them inside a wrapped gift, but you could use our Envelope Punch Board and make envelopes to coordinate with them.
