January Scraps And Prayers / Studio Update

Greetings, fellow stampers, paper crafters, and scrappers.  I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  I'm making great progress in my storage room.  My studio is finished being cleaned except for the insides of 2 end tables and a tiny upper cabinet.  I'm on the last leg of cleaning the storage room.  Yikes, this has been a messy journey.  I can't wait to be finished!!!  I have some special projects in mind to decorate my 'new' studio and hope to start those later this week.  That will be fun!

For our January Scraps and Prayers, I am not able to hold classes yet here in my home.  We're about to install kitchen flooring and new carpet (living room, hallway and steps leading to my studio) and I am still cleaning.  However ... I don't want us to miss a month of creating and I've already based our February class on having completed the January project, so I've come up with a way to have it all.
 Here's the scoop
  • The project is a decorated tin and 2 cards (using embossing folders).
  • I will have 7 available tins and card kits.
  • I will make up the cards and supplies to decorate the tin as a class kit.
  • Each kit will be $15.  (Scraps and Prayers fees will be raised to $18. in February ... for the remainder of 2019.)
  • Arrange a time with me to pick up your kit.
  • Pick up your kit any time from January 14-19, while supplies last.
  • Pay your fee when you pick up your kit.
  • Read the message inside and complete your kit.
  • Bring your kit to class in February.
  • All those bringing their kit to class will receive a special surprise.
  • 2019 will be our year to really get creative, so let your creative juices flow!
  • I can't wait to see everyone's completed projects!!!
SPECIAL NOTE:
I've been working on my 2019 schedule and have posted classes and events for January - June of 2019.  Check it out here!

Cherry Cobbler Decorated Christmas Tin

As I mentioned in a previous post, I love tins and I loved making the Sincerely Santa Project Kit tags.  It makes so many!  I used a few of them to decorate other Christmas items.  Are you wondering what I have inside?  I have a bunch of Christmas cards I made using our Timeless Tidings Card Kit.  The cards have a lot of Cherry Cobbler in them, so I thought this tin would be perfect.  By the way, the current SU Inventory shows an excess of these tins so, once you read some of my ideas below for using them, you might want to stock up on a few.  They're really nice.
This would make a great Christmas gift for a special someone.  They can enjoy using the cards and then save the tin for next Christmas ... or remove the tag and use the tin year-round.  Another idea:  Keep the tin for yourself and use it for all your lists, address labels, etc. for sending out your Christmas cards each year.  It's a keeper:)
Even more ideas ---
- Use it as gift packaging for odd-sized gifts.
- Fill it with bath spa type gifts.
- Fill it with cookies.  Yum!!!
- Fill it with get-well type gifts for someone recovering from an illness or surgery.
- Use it for storage in your stamping area.
- Use it to organize and store your ready-to-send cards for various occasions.

Send me a comment if you'd like to share your own ideas for using this or other tins.  I'd love to hear from you.

Decorated Tins

I haven't made any decorated tins for a while and thought I'd make a few for my Christmas Boutique.  These would be so great for storing Christmas recipes, Christmas card files, 'wrapping' for unusual sized gifts... They are fun to make.  I used the Holly Berry Bouquet DSP (holiday mini / #124004) for 2 of them and the third one, with the Christmas ornaments, is made with DSP I had left from Letters to Santa DSP (#122349).  In the past, I've always had trouble making my supplies come out right, so that I don't end up with a lot of left-overs after a season is over.  I did it really well for the Christmas papers this year!  These were the last of my supplies.  That means that, come Christmas 2012, I can order all new and do so completely guilt-free:)

If you're looking for a gift that's fun to make and fun AND functional to receive, try a decorated tin.  You could even fill it with cookies!!!   Happy stamping!!!

December 10 and counting...
