Blossoms and Bliss Squash Book with A Squash Book Mini Tutorial

Here's another idea to inspire you in creating your very own squash book.  I think the thing I like most about making these fun books is the opportunity to share it by giving it to someone special.  When they open it up, expecting to see traditional book pages, they are so amazed to see all the pages fold out.

MINI TUTORIAL:
Materials needed:
2 sheets DSP for covers (Cut two 7 1/2" squares.)
3 sheets DSP (coordinated designs) for inside
2 Cardboard pieces (Cut to 6 1/2" squares.)
3 sheets 12 X 12" coordinating CS (for inside pages)
Tutorial:
Score each PAGE vertically and horizontally down the middle, using our Simply Scored Tool.
Score each one diagonally ONCE down the middle, using an 18" ruler to help guide the scoring.
Overlap the pieces, using the squares that are decorated here with the darkest shade of DSP.
See photos below for sizes to cut the 3 coordinated DSP designs.

Affectionately Yours Squash Book

I have one more Affectionately Yours project to share with you.  This is one of the squash book samples I made to share at our previous Scraps and Prayers class.
I added a fun cover to this squash book.
When you open a squash book, it's always such a surprise to see the pretty papers inside it.  Seeing all the DSP patterns laid out like this, I think you can see what I mean by these papers having two types of patterns -- an elegant side and a playful side.  They all look pretty together, too.  You can add stamped images, text, and/or photos inside a squash book.
Would you like to know more about how to create your own squash book?  Keep visiting my blog, as I plan to share a tutorial with you in a future post.

Subtles Collection Project: A Squash Book

I love making these squash books.  I think they're addicting.  You can add text, quotes, photos --- anything you'd like --- to all the little sections.  This is a great gift for someone and can often be made using extra photos left over from making your album layout pages.
