Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 10

As promised, today's card features Iridescent Ice, Wink of Stella and Glitter Ribbon.  It is covered with sparkle!
This card is actually a similar version to the card in my previous post.  I used the Washi Label Punch to punch out my greeting and then sponged around it before attaching it with dimensionals.
I cut out the flower, colored it, attached it with dimensionals and then added Wink of Stella to the blossom.  You can actually see a little bit of the Iridescent Ice in the background on the close-up.  As you know, it'd so difficult to capture the true beauty of the sparkle in a photo.
I love this paper and love the card.  Compare it to my previous card and you can see what a difference the color of the mat makes when using the same DSP design.  This one is also one of my favorites.
Next up...
a really simple card, using Wink of Stella.  See you then!

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 9

Let's continue our sparkle series with some more beautiful Wink of Stella and some sprinkles of rhinestones.  Bring on the sparkle!  Today's card is one of my favorites.
I cut the tag from watercolor paper, splashed on a bit of color for the background (with my Aqua Painter), and then embossed my flower and colored it in.
Once my flower was dry, I added Wink of Stella to the blossom on the flower and then added a sprinkling of rhinestones.  Notice the ribbon technique.  This is one that was in my Ribbon Techniques Album.  Click this link to see it.
I'm sorry the sparkle doesn't show up much on the flower blossom, but it's there and is very pretty in real life.  It's just such a great way to add a subtle touch of gorgeous sparkle... and so easy.  I'm kind of finding myself wanting to put it on most everything... Hee, hee!

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 8

How about some more Wink of Stella... and some Glitter Ribbon for today?  This time, I used Wink of Stella on every scoop of ice cream on the DSP.  It actually didn't take too long... and it was fun.
The downside is that it's almost impossible to see it in the photo.  In real life, it's gorgeous.
Ice cream, anyone?

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 7

Today's sparkle is brought to you by some gorgeous Glimmer Paper and some Iced Rhinestone Embellishments.  My favorite part, in addition to all the sparkle, is all the die cut pieces.
These die cut pieces are all cut from the same set of framelits I used in my previous post.  I'm not sure I'll ever need to put these away because I'll be using them so much.  They are my favorite product from our Occasions Catalog this year!  I used 2 colors in my die cut leaves, to echo the 2 shades used in the leaves on the DSP.
In the close-up, notice how the flower pieces are cut to be dimensional.  This is all done with one little flower framelit!  I used one of our Iced Rhinestone Embellishments in the center of the flower.  Pretty!
I added a row of tiny rhinestones to complete my design.

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 6

Today's card features head to toe Iridescent Ice, a cute little rhinestone and beautiful satin ribbon.  Best of all, besides the sparkle everywhere, it also shows off some fabulous new framelits.  Check out the flowers and delicate leaves.  Aren't they wonderful?
I already have some future plans in the making for using these new framelits.  I know I'll be using them a lot!
Look carefully in the close-up of the flowers and leaves and you can actually see the Iridescent Ice in the background.  Also, notice how the smallest flower is very dimensional.  The die cuts it out that way!
I love this card.  You may have noticed that I've left a lot of my newest cards without text on the fronts.  This is because I plan to use a lot of them for note cards.  I can also adapt them to many different occasions, by adding a text later to the front or adding a text inside the card.  It's good to keep your options open:)
Next up...
Glimmer Paper and Iced Rhinestone Embellishments for my next sparkle fun.

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 5

Today, I have more watercolor for you and a generous dose of Wink of Stella on a beautiful flower.  Let's jump right in for some more sparkle fun.
Isn't this DSP just gorgeous?  I cut a circle from watercolor paper, stamped and embossed the image.
Using the Aqua Painter, I colored in the image.  Once it was dry, I added Wink of Stella to all the flower.  I did not do the leaves, because I wanted some contrast in colors and textures.
To make a 'mat' around the circle, I added some VersaMark ink (direct to paper technique) around the edges and embossed with gold EP.  I intentionally left it irregular, to add more artistic interest.  I finished off the card with 3 little rhinestones for some added sparkle.  I love how this one turned out.
I'm just getting going on all the sparkle fun, so keep coming back for more!

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 4

Today's card is brought to you by one of the finest sparkles ever --- Dazzling Diamonds.  This glitter is gorgeous.  I decided that a balloon would look fantastic all dressed up with sparkle.
With these delicate colors, I think you could even use this card for a new baby card, just by changing the text.
It's difficult to get a photo of most any kind of sparkle.  I 'kind of' got this one.  I used my 2-Way Glue Pen on the balloon and then sprinkled on the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
I did a little sponging around the top layer of the card.  By cutting the Mint Macaron layer a little smaller, it allows more of the bottom layer of the Birthday Bouquet DSP to show off how pretty it is.  I think the card would not be as pretty with just the 1 layer of DSP.

Come on back for more sparkle.  I have lots of sparkle to share!

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 3

Ready for another bit of sparkle?  Let's get to it:)  For this one, I did a bit of watercoloring for the background and then added a heat embossed image.  The crowning touch --- Wink of Stella!
Wink of Stella is an amazing and wonderful product.  It's glitter in a pen-like container and you literally just brush it on where you'd like it to be.  It adds a very subtle and gorgeous bit of sparkle with no mess and it dries very quickly.
Today's sparkle is brought to you by:
1.  Gold cord.
2.  Gold EP.
3.  Wink of Stella.

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 2

Today's sparkle card has 3 elements of sparkle goodness.
The sparkle features are:
1.  Gold Embossing.
2.  Shiny gold ribbon.
3.  Crystal Effects.

The Crystal Effects element is used to add a layer of shine to the flower.  Crystal Effects can be used to give sparkle or shine in several ways, in addition to being a great adhesive.  I think I'll need to revisit this wonderful product in a future post, to share more ideas on using it.

I cut the focal piece from watercolor paper and then added a bit of watercolor background, using Watermelon Wonder reinker and an Aqua Painter.

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 1

Welcome to my new little mini series... Getting Your Sparkle On. First up... a series of cards all made with new products from S-A-B (Sale-A-Bration) and our new Occasions Catalog.

Getting back into a stamping groove after not being able to do it for a while is always a challenge.  Getting back into it after Christmas and with the overwhelming experience of the Occasions Catalog AND S-A-B available with tons of wonderful new products... Yikes!  I decided to get back into it all by organizing everything, laying out the new papers and coordinating products and then letting the colors and designs inspire my creativity.  Once I got all that going, I came up with a new series I wanted to share with you... Getting Your Sparkle On.  I realized that, with our new Wink Of Stella product (fabulous!!!) that we had tons of ways to add sparkle to our cards and projects.  Thus, a mini series for my blog was born.
The sparkle on this card shows up in 3 forms:
1.  Wink of Stella on portions of the vellum.  This does NOT photograph well but is gorgeous in real life.
2.  Botanical Garden Embellishment.
3.  White Glitter Ribbon
The CS under the vellum is actually Watermelon Wonder, the same as the flower under the embellishment.  Vellum is a great way to tone down a color that you like but want to be more subtle.  I cut it wider on each side, wrapped it around the CS and attached it to the back of the CS.
Have you ever wondered how I get so many photos taken outdoors?  Well, sometimes, a windy day creates quite a challenge:)
