Party Winners / A Glittery White Snowflake Card

I had this idea in my head that I wanted to use our new snowflake embossing folder (Winter Wonder TIEF) and have a clean, white card ... but I wanted my snowflake to sparkle.  So... I got out my retired Iridescent Ice EP and went to town.  I embossed the snowflake on our Thick White CS, which, by the way, gave me a super impression.  Then, I gently covered the raised part of the snowflake with VersaMark Ink, covered it with my embossing powder, and heat embossed it.  It came gorgeous but, alas, I can't fully capture the beauty in a photo.
Whenever I create an all white or nearly white card, I like to add a layer to the card base.  It really bumps up the elegance of a card to have another layer.  For this one, I put it on with dimensionals.
This is a really big snowflake!  I love it!
So there is my beautiful all white card.  Keep scrolling and you'll find out my party winners.  I think everyone enjoys this game.  I know I enjoy reading the answers.

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 10

As promised, today's card features Iridescent Ice, Wink of Stella and Glitter Ribbon.  It is covered with sparkle!
This card is actually a similar version to the card in my previous post.  I used the Washi Label Punch to punch out my greeting and then sponged around it before attaching it with dimensionals.
I cut out the flower, colored it, attached it with dimensionals and then added Wink of Stella to the blossom.  You can actually see a little bit of the Iridescent Ice in the background on the close-up.  As you know, it'd so difficult to capture the true beauty of the sparkle in a photo.
I love this paper and love the card.  Compare it to my previous card and you can see what a difference the color of the mat makes when using the same DSP design.  This one is also one of my favorites.
Next up...
a really simple card, using Wink of Stella.  See you then!

Iridescent Ice: The Magic Ingredient

Today, let's take a closer look at a card for my upcoming Nov. 21 Christmas Retreat that uses Iridescent Ice with Designer Series Papers (DSP).  This embossing powder adds an almost magical quality to your project.
One of my favorite 'go to' elements of cards that beg for sparkle and glam is our Iridescent Ice embossing powder (EP).  It is gorgeous.  I actually have 2 containers of it.  One container has just the Iridescent Ice and the other container has a mixture of White EP and Iridescent Ice EP.   The mixture is great for making a sparkling snow effect.
The DSP is attached behind the ornament shaped opening, after glamming it up with Iridescent Ice EP.

Let's Take a Walk in The Forest

It's a beautiful day here today, so let's take a walk... a walk in the forest.  We'll be making this card at my November 21 Christmas Retreat, along with the sneak peek cards you see on the left side of my blog site..
This is one of my most favorite cards I've ever made... so far.  I've said this before, but it's true:)

This card is completely covered with Iridescent Ice EP.  In real life, it has a beautiful shimmer to it.
Yesterday, Joey and Ben enjoyed a beautiful walk with me.  We didn't go into the forest, but we did enjoy going around our circle.  We are having a fabulous Indian Summer type of weather and I love it!  If the forest looked like it does in this card, I can see us bundled up for winter and tromping through the snowy forest, looking for nature's treasures.
You may have noticed lately that I'm not always putting a text on the front of my cards.  I think this makes them more versatile.

Too Early to Think of A White Christmas?

It may be too early to think about a white Christmas, but it's always the right time for a pretty card.  This is one I designed to send for a winter birthday.
The prettiest part of the card is that the top layer is completely covered with a beautiful sparkle.  It just does not show up in a photo.  After stamping and dry embossing the top layer of the card (and coloring in the 2 little cardinals), I covered the entire layer with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed it with Iridescent Ice EP.  In real life, it is gorgeous.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I had this stamp set last year and never got around to using it.  Geez!!!  I am super happy that it carried over into the new catalog and promised myself I would use it.  This is one of the cards I made for our church birthdays (for December) and worked at keeping it flat for easy mailing.  I think it will make the birthday people happy to get it in the mail when the time comes.
In my next post, I have a gorgeous Fall card for you and then I'll be starting a little mini series on OSW cards that I know you won't want to miss.  So... be sure to come back:)

Wild About Flowers Card

Today's card is proof that you can make a quick and easy card and still bump it up a notch or two.  We'll be making this one at my class tomorrow.  I used our new Wild About Flowers stamp set.  I love the flower images in this set.  The stems and the blooms are on separate stamps, so you can easily use whatever colors you'd like on them.  They're also easy to align (flowers to stems) because they're photopolymer.
I actually stamped my flowers 3 times (on the card)... once for the original stamping of the flowers, a second time to achieve a shadow effect and then a third time (with Versamark Ink) to emboss with Iridescent Ice EP.  Unfortunately, I can't seem to capture the sparkle in the photo.  The text is from our All Boxed Up stamp set.
Adding extra layers to the front of a card always bumps up the elegance.  I've stamped the card inside and the envelope to all coordinate.
I have two more cards coming up in my next posts, to share more ideas for using this stamp set, so be sure to check back to see them.

1 Card / 2 Versions

I have 2 versions of a very bright and pretty card for you today ... again, we're still using framelits dies to help create the cards.  Check these out and let me know which one you like the best.
My color story is a beautiful one, based on the Designer Series Papers (DSP):
Pacific Point
Wild Wasabi
Daffodil Delight
In real life, you can see a beautiful shimmer and sparkle to the flower petals.  My ink pad was nice and juicy so, while the ink was still wet from stamping, I sprinkled Iridescent Ice EP over it and heat embossed it.  I did not emboss the center of the flower, to give it contrasting textures.
I've coordinated the inside of each card as well as the envelopes, using DSP.  So... which one do you like the best?

Christmas Card with Ornamental Pine, Part 5

Here's my last card (for now) with our Ornamental Pine stamp set.  This one has a simple but striking color story.  I like all the cards I've made with this stamp set, but I think this one is my favorite.
It's all Crumb Cake, with Early Espresso sponging.  The pine boughs are stamped with Always Artichoke... on the card and the envelope.  The sparkle is done with Iridescent Ice EP.
This is the card that is in a tie for first place with the wreath card (card #2).
Here are all 5 of the cards I've made with this stamp set.  Which card of the 5 do you like the best?

One More For the Birds

I woke up this morning without a voice AGAIN.  That is truly for the birds.  Meanwhile...
I have one more For the Birds card to share with you.  This card shows how you can use the same exact design, same exact stamp, and still change the look by using a different piece of DSP.

By the way...
All the images in this wonderful little stamp set could easily be used in cards with this same design.  Change out the image... try new color stories... you have endless possibilities.

For the Birds

Today's post is for the birds... literally... using our For the Birds stamp set.  This card exemplifies how one cute little stamp can be used to create the cutest card ever... and it's quick and easy.
I used just a plain piece of Cherry Cobbler CS to line the envelope and I added a tiny scalloped border at the top edge of the DSP strip.  With minimal coloring and minimal DSP, this card is quick and it's easy on the supplies.
Look closely and you can see some speckles of sparkly snow on the upper portion of my card.
I used our wonderful Confetti Star Punch to fancy up the inside of the card.

Work of Art Times Three

Today is all about trying the same design in 3 different color stories.  For each of the 3 cards, I used the same basic design template but totally changed the color story.  Doing so really has an impact on your finished project.  Check these out and tell me which version you like the best.
Choice 1:  Hello Honey with Bermuda Bay

Choice 2:  Wisteria Wonder with Pear Pizzazz  (Note the use of 2 strips of our Chevron ribbon behind the white layer.)

Choice 3:  Pool Party, Soft Sky and Melon Mambo
For each card, I stamped the little circle (from Work of Art) with VersaMark ink and embossed it with Iridescent Ice EP.  Then I punched it out with one of our circle punches.  Each circle is attached with dimensionals.
