A Bright Hello Card

Well, the sun did come out after my previous post and turned into a lovely day.  We seem to have rain and sun, in alternating goodness, so I hope my plants enjoy it all.  The puppies did really well at puppy class last night and now I'm ready to share another card with you.  This one is an example of a fairly easy card that has lots and lots of products used with it to bump it up several notches.
I've pulled not only my color story right from the DSP, but part of the actual design in the paper, as I turned it into a dimensional element, using punches and a little rhinestone.
Before I attached the heart, I felt like it needed a little something else, so I added a bit of lace doily behind it.  I like how the hello stands out against it all.  I'm really enjoying the die-cut words we have now... and there are 3 more words in our new catalog.  Yay!
This ended up being a really bright and cheerful card that you could send for many occasions.  I really like how it all came together.

Black and White and A Touch of Cherry Cobbler

Today's card is actually a sneak peek at one of the cards we'll be making at my Friday Night Cards class this Friday, July 12.  We'll be making 6 beautiful cards, with envelopes included.  If you get a friend to sign up for the class, too, you both will get to make a bonus card!!!  Adhesive is now included in the class, so all you need to bring is YOU!

I am totally in love with our new Modern Medley Designer papers.  You can do so much with them.
The In Color dahlia is attached with Liquid Tombow adhesive.  I only used 1/2 of the doily, so this card is efficient in its use of product.
The kids sing in church today, so that will be fun.  Chris and Jenn are working really hard to get all moved into their new house.  The boys are excited, but confused, at all that is going on right now.  They cheer big time each time they regain access to a 'new' box of toys.

This will be a busy week with my 2 classes.  The boys have Bible School all week, so I will be using my quiet time to work like crazy in my studio.  I need to finish the cards for Friday night and I have some new things I'm working on for my Prairie Treasures booth at the Root Cellar.

Have a great day. Today is a good day to enjoy some family time.

Pistachio Pudding

Today, our new colors series continues with Pistachio Pudding, another very trendy color right now in the fashion world.  Our two color stories are quite different from each other, both based on the Color Coach.

Our first color story:

  • Pistachio Pudding
  • Baked Brown Sugar
  • Crisp Cantaloupe
Notice how I've used the reverse (debossed) side of the embossed flowers?  It's nice to have this option for a variation in texture.

Our second color story (card on the left):
  • Pistachio Pudding
  • Smoky Slate
  • Strawberry Slush
I've used the 3 colors in the layers of the card and then again in the punched blossoms on the top layer.

Which color story do you like the best?

Let Stampin' Up! Products Help You Create A Party!

Today is Olive Jane's birthday party and her mom and I have kind of a tradition going of getting together and making all her party decorations.  Olive Jane is all about Minnie Mouse right now, so that's our theme.  Years ago, I learned from a fellow church member that, once you do something for two years in a row, it becomes a tradition.  We're there now!

Using Big Shot dies and circle punches, it was easy to come up with our decorations.
We've had a lot of rain and/or wind here lately, so I had to shoot these inside.  I realize that I forgot to take a photo of the birthday hat and the thank you, so I'll have to post those later.
These are the favor boxes.  They will have treats in cello bags inside them.
The banner is held together with dotted ribbon pieces between each circle.  It will hang from the window (curtain rod) behind the party table.
It should be a really fun party.  Can you keep a secret?  We're giving her a big wagon for her birthday.  Shhhhhhh!

Snowman and Company

I love the little snowman from the No Peeking stamp set.  He's just stinkin' cute.  Here are the results of my playing in the snow with him.
As you can see, I've used circle punches and the Boho Blossoms punch to create a wreath around the opening.  I also made a shaker card version of this snowman.  It looks just the same except that it has white mica flakes and glitter inside a little treat cup over the opening.

I stamped snowflakes onto the background, using the Snowflake Soiree stamp set and then embossed the sentiment with our gorgeous Pewter EP.  The final touches:  a beautiful Cherry Cobbler bow and Cherry Cobbler accents with Dazzling Details.  It's like a glitter glue and super easy to use, not to mention --- no loose glitter all over the place.

Come back soon for more snowman fun and lots more inspiration.  Have a great day ... and go stamp something!

Summer Smooches

Well, I've redone my 'photo shoot' area and hope it works better.  I've really had a time of it, trying to get the best shots possible so I can share them with you.

After a busy day yesterday with my boys, including a trip to the Children's Museum and a Team Meeting, I'm ready to share a project with you.

This is one of the cards we made at my Team Meeting.  It's done with an Island Indigo card base.

The other colors are Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango and Lucky Limeade.  The tag (Tag punch) is stamped with the You're a Gem stamp set.  We stamped off to stamp the flowers on the tag.
Here's the stencil we used for the background strip.  (We used the stencil on the left.)  As you can see, it comes with TWO pieces, so you have lots of possibilities for how you can use them.  The little flowers were punched with the Boho Blossoms punch and then we added a pearl accent to the center of each.  We used the Tasteful Trims die for the scallop border and added Rich Razzleberry ribbon to the other side of the stenciled background piece.
After stenciling, we stamped little flowers, using the Bright Blossoms stamp set.

Important info:
The Summer Smooches products are available for April only.
On June 1, part of the products will again be available --- in the new Catalog --- but the fabric brads and stencils will retire.  Order them before the end of April, so you don't lose out!!!
