Five Days of Dapper Denim, Day Five

Are you ready to wrap up our Dapper Denim days?  I've saved one of my super favorites for the last day.
I watercolored the background on the circle piece, using Shimmery White CS.   The text is embossed with black EP.  By embossing the top layer of the card, it just bumps up the WOW factor ... a lot!
I've stamped the inside of the card as well as the coordinating envelope.
Yes, I had to fussy cut the flower and leaves, but I think it was well worth the effort.  Like I said, this is one of my favorites!

Five Days of Dapper Denim, Day Four

I hope you didn't think I'd been kidnapped by some form of Dapper Denim.  Actually, I got a nasty stomach bug that put me out of commission for a week.  I'm back and ready to go on with more luscious Dapper Denim.
I used the Acrylic Block Technique for the background behind my tree.  You can search my blog for other examples of this technique.
I used Marina Mist and Always Artichoke for my colors on the background.  Once it was dry, I stamped the tree and the text.  I love the touch of the rhinestones on this card.  I used the embossed design to guide the placement.
I have one more day of Dapper Denim, so come on back and see what I'll be sharing with you.

Meet Flirty Flamingo

In my 'Meet the New In Colors' post, I shared a card with you that had a peek at all 5 of our newest In Colors.  I'd like continue introducing all the colors and helping you get to know each of them a little better.  First of all, here are all 5 of the new colors using the same basic card design for each.
I've changed the embossed backgrounds and the colors, but kept the same design.  The stamping is all done with VersaMark and then heat embossed with Gold EP.  I then colored in each flower (including leaves and stem) with Gold Wink of Stella.  I've mostly shown you the Wink of Stella in Clear, so here's a new version.
You will love Flirty Flamingo.  This is an absolutely gorgeous color.  It seems so fresh and vibrant.
I added a 'sprig' of ribbon to each of my cards to show off our new Ruched Ribbon that comes in each of the new In Colors.  It is a joy to work with this ribbon and it is just plain gorgeous!
Come on back to get better acquainted with our next new In Color.

Best Thoughts in Gorgeous Yellows

Who doesn't like a bright and cheerful card, especially in gorgeous yellows?!  Today's card is brought to you by Best Thoughts, one of my absolute favorite stamp sets.
I've used shades of yellow and a nice touch of green.  The Metallic Rimmed Pearl makes the perfect accent.

Vintage Thank You ... Two Versions

Here's another version of the card we made at my Vintage Cards Class.  This one is stamped and embossed onto watercolor paper and then a quick (free hand) watercolor background added.
The embossing folder is Boho Chic, another new one.
It's nice that there is a cute little stamp in this set, to stamp a coordinating envelope.
Now, let's compare it to the one we made in class.
This one is embossed in white onto CS and the embossing folder used is Elegant Dots, yet another new one.
Sometimes, it's fun to make new versions of the same card.  Which card do you like the best?

Happy Birthday ... 3 Ways

With our country's birthday coming right up, followed by mine the next day, let's look at some birthday cards today.  These are not patriotic, but rather great for male cards.  A lot of people say it's difficult to come up with a good design that works for a male card, so I hope this helps.

Here is version one:
... and Versions 2 and 3 ... almost alike ...
... a close-up of Version 2:
... a close-up of version 3:
... and here are all 3 together:
Which one do you like the best?  Today's a good day to go make some cards.

5 Little Bow Punch Projects

I have a whole set of cute little cards to share with you today.  They're 3 X 3" sized, have coordinating envelopes with some new DSP and there's a card for each of our 5 new In Colors.
With the new In Colors coming out, I decided it would be fun to create a card for each color.  I added to the fun by using a brand new embossing folder and new DSP from a wonderful little paper stack called Cherry on Top
I love our little Bow Builder Punch and have been wanting to work with it more lately.  I've spent a ton of time the past few weeks trying to catch up and finish my MDS albums and get them printed before it all retires.  It's good to get the feel of real CS and embossing folders and punches and all back into my hands.  I love to create.
The Bow Builder Punch is like a baby version of the Gift Bow Bigz L die for the Big Shot.  By having both on hand, I'm totally covered when it comes to adding a bow to a project.  They both work with DSP and/or CS.  Love that!

Click here to see a video about the Bow Builder Punch.  Enjoy!
Something (one of many things, actually) I really like about our new catalog is that all the DSP packs (other than the Typeset) have a coordinating package of CS that works with all the colors in the papers.  Here's what I mean...

Cherry on Top DSP colors:
Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush
Hello Honey, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White
With the DSP stack, you get 48 sheets --- 4 each of 12 double-sided designs.
They are 6 X 6" size, so they can be very versatile for lots of cards or other projects.

Colors for Cherry on Top CS Pack:
Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay, and Watermelon Wonder

With the CS Pack, you get 24 sheets --- 8 each of the 3 colors.  If you made only cards (full size --- 2 per sheet), you could make 48 cards and still have DSP left over!

So... If you buy the DSP and the CS pack, you can get to designing, cutting and creating and make a zillion cards or other projects.  Thank you, Stampin' Up!, for this great new way of organizing our projects!
