Blue and Silver for Christmas

Today's card is just plain pretty, with it's soft, warm colors.  What can I say?  I love it.
The boys are off school now, so we're working on projects ... a bit of a challenge, with a 14 month old baby with us, as well, but we're doing it and making some pretty cute creations.  We called their great-grandmother (my MIL) yesterday and sang a Christmas song to her.  She was tickled.  The baby is learning to say:  "Ho, Ho, Ho" now ... super cute!  He loves looking at all the decorations for Christmas and mostly is able to gently touch them.  His true love, though, is Toby Joe.  He likes the puppies and they love him, but he adores Toby Joe.  Toby is excellent with him.  Joey crawls over to him, turns his back to him, and scoots up against him and they cuddle ... briefly ... until Toby decides to go rest somewhere else.  It's a wonderful time of the year.
So... back to my card ... I just love this one.  I have enough cards and projects to share with you to last the rest of the year.  I'll share some of the projects the boys worked on with me, but not until after Christmas.  We can't spoil any surprises:)

November Christmas Retreat, Cards 4 AND 5

I'm going to make this a Wow Wednesday kind of day and share TWO of the cards we'll be making at my November Christmas Retreat.  They both have lots and lots of sparkle.
This first card has 3 sources of sparkle:  embossed silver images, silver foil, and white glimmer paper.  Wow!  That's a lot of beautiful sparkle.
I had a big surprise the first time I used the framelit in the above photo.  It cuts an image that I thought looked great on the inside of the card.  Isn't this beautiful?
The next card has glimmer and shimmer, as well.
I didn't realize until after I'd designed this card, that we no longer carry the red foil sheets.  I had just enough left in my 'stash' to use for this class.  It's a real wow to see the gleam of the red foil and the glimmer behind it of the red glimmer paper.  Gorgeous!
I hope I've inspired you to start thinking about making Christmas cards ... maybe creating cards with us at my Christmas Retreat or on your own.  Either way, I've shared some good ideas to get you going, so get out your 'stash' and get started!
In my next post, I'll share our sixth card we'll be making.  Come back and see what I have to share with you.

I still have a few openings left for the November Christmas Retreat.  The deadline to sign up is the end of the day tomorrow (Thursday).  It's going to be a lot of fun and you'll go home with 18 cards --- 3 of each design.
If you are unable to attend, kits are available for $30.

November Christmas Retreat, Card 3

Here's a look at the third card we'll be making at our Christmas Retreat this Saturday.  I knew you'd like to see this one.

At the retreat, we'll be decorating all the insides of our cards and the envelopes.
Don't worry about cutting all the pieces, if you choose to attend the Christmas Retreat, because I've already cut all of them for you ... to save time.
Because we're making 3 of each card design, I thought it would be fun to use 3 different designs of DSP for this card.  This one may be my favorite.  I'm not sure yet, because I really like them all.
I still have a few openings left for the November Christmas Retreat.  Sign up soon to hold your spot.  It's going to be a lot of fun and you'll go home with 18 cards --- 3 of each design.
If you are unable to attend, kits are available for $30.
