Pressed Petals Series, Part 4 ... Card 10

Today is a really tough day for me.  After lunch, I'll be putting Joey on the bus for his first day of Pre-K.  As if that won't be tough enough, he chose today to get out all his little stuffed toys that we used to have in his crib and cuddle and play with them.  He is tugging at my heart!

I must be brave!

So ... on to today's card ... before I have a meltdown.  I love all the Night of Navy on today's card.  This card looks rich and elegant, with a little vintage thrown in with it.

I like how I nestled the 'hello' into the cluster of beautiful flowers.

I cut a lot of extra flowers ... to layer onto the front of my card ... and to use inside my card.

This is certainly one of my favorites.  I have one more left for my series, so be sure to come back and check it out in my next post.

An Elegant Deer is Always Welcome

Today's card comes from a stamp set in the Christmas section of our Annual Catalog.  As soon as I saw him, I fell in love with this deer.  He is whimsical and elegant, all at the same time.  I've seen a lot of cards created that were similar to mine, because the deer just begs to live on an oval background piece, be embossed in gold (or silver) and live on the most gorgeous papers ever to come our way.   I kept my cards very simple, letting the deer and the DSP be the stars of the show.  I tried a little bow at the bottom of the oval, but liked it best without.  Simple elegance is always good:)

I still have two more cards to share with you that we'll be making at my Saturday Stampers class this week.  I finished them all and just love them.  Come back to see my super elegant Fall card and my spinner card ... for Christmas.  Like I keep saying, this is going to be one of my best classes.

Christmas Candles in Dapper Denim ... And ... Cherry Cobbler

Are you ready for another sneak peek at a card we'll make at my Saturday Stampers class this week?  I made this one in two colors.  Scroll down and enjoy the post and then I'll tell you which one we're making at class.
First, I'll share my version in Cherry Cobbler.  Notice the cute little charm?  It adds such a fun touch to the card. 

 Now, here's my version of the same design in Dapper Denim.

 Both cards have the same design on the inside.

So which one do you like the best?  I hope it's the Dapper Denim version because that's the one we'll be making at class.  Everyone will get to choose which charm they'd like to add to their card.   If you're interested in getting this stamp set for yourself, it's a special Hostess offer ... through the end of October.  I love it for this candles stamp, but the entire set is really nice.

On Saturday .....

Flower Shop Card with Stitched Oval Background

Here's another card we'll be making at my Saturday Stampers class this Saturday.  What do you get when you mix together a gorgeous embossing folder, a stitched oval shape (with watercolor background over it), a scalloped oval shape, some sparkly 'gems' and 3 pretty flowers?  You get a really pretty card!  Using Berry Burst for the card base is just like adding frosting to the cake.  I love this one!

In my photo, I see that I mixed up the envelope with another card's envelope.  I've since put them with their correct partners.  I love the text on this card!  It's from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set.  When this poor, lonely stamp set sat in my cabinet for over a year, being neglected, I never paid attention to the sentiments that came with it.  When I took it out - finally - to make a card with it, I realized what I'd been missing out on all this time.  All the sentiments are fabulous.

The embossing folder is called Ruffled and it is amazing.  It's one of our extra thick 3-D embossing folders.  I almost didn't buy it, because I wasn't sure at first if I'd use it.  I'm sure glad I decided to go for it.  I love it!

I added some of our Faceted Gems to the center of each flower, as well as some smaller ones on the ovals.

I don't think you can truly appreciate the depth of the embossing unless you see it in real life.

In the close-up, you can see the soft watercolor background I created on the stitched oval.

Love this one!

Sunshine Sayings Card Set

There's just nothing like a sunny day.  Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy ... for real.  Thanks, John.  I made a set of Sunshine Sayings cards, using all our new In Colors.  Have you decided yet which new color is your favorite?  I'm still trying to decide!  The colors this year are just delicious! 

These really do make me happy.  I'll show you all the details in just one color, as the designs are all the same.  I'm using one of our new punches, too. 

I cut 1/2" off the front edge of my card and then added an inch strip of DSP inside the card.  I love how it shows along the edge.

Notice how, when I added the DSP strip, I left a teeny tiny sliver of the white card edge showing.  I just really like this look.  It's fun to have the flower and the oval hang over a bit when the card opens.  It still fits fine into an envelope and does not extend past the actual edge of the card base, so it's protected from getting bent.

As you can see, there's still plenty of room on the inside to add a note.

Happy, Healthy Life Journals ... AND ... Exciting Party Reminders!!!

I've recently been trying to make some serious changes in being healthier and, therefore, happier.  My puppies put on a little weight this winter, so they've been inducted into my 'program' too.  Facing some serious health procedures coming up (me ... not the pups), I'm trying to stay busy, positive and creative.

Using some favorite stamps sets and new DSP, I made journals for us all to keep track of our progress.  It's really helping and makes it all a lot more fun.  Being creative always makes me happy and being healthier does, too!
