Botanicals Birthday Cards

I made 2 batches of birthday cards using our new Botanicals products.  Today, I'll share two female versions of my cards.
I used two color stories, with 2 different DSP designs.
As always, all my supplies are listed at the end of each blog post.
Using Wink of Stella for the flower center, keeps it easier to mail.  Since I made these for our church to send out for our birthdays this month, I didn't want them to have to pay extra postage for mailing them.
I absolutely love the new Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.  They are at the top of my list of favorites!
These will surely be a day brightener for the lucky recipients.

Getting Your Sparkle On, Part 12

Here we are up to Part 12 already.  Are you wondering just how long I can keep this little series going?  Well... we're getting close to the end.  And... if you're wondering what effect this series has had on my studio..... let's just say that there's a lot of sparkle going on around here:)  Now, for today's card, I have some soft and beautiful Pool Party, vellum and sparkle.
Isn't this vellum just gorgeous?  I got it FREE, with my S-A-B 'earnings' with my last order.  During our Sale-A-Bration (S-A-B) you get to choose a free item for each $50. you spend.
It didn't show up at all in the photo, but I colored in parts of the design on the vellum with Wink Of Stella.  For other sparkle, I embossed the greeting and the little flowers and then added a small rhinestone to the center of each flower.  Before adding the rhinestones, I watercolored the background on the tag and then sponged the edges.
Next up...

I have a couple more posts for you with my little sparkle series, so be sure to check it out.  We'll be wrapping up the series soon with a dryer sheet technique tutorial.  I've had several requests for this, so I'm happy to share it with you.

Another Take on My Vintage Layout

Remember when I shared the layout I made as a tribute to my Aunt Vivian?  We made it at my Scrapbooking Your Heritage class at our library and it will be our February Scraps and Prayers project as well.  Today, I want to share another version that I made with it.  This layout is a tribute to my grandfather... my daddy's father.  He died when my father was only 12, so I only have a couple of photos of him.  Thus, I've used one of the photo mats to add my journaling.  It helps tell more of my story... my family history.

Tip:
My journaling is typed on vellum.  You cannot add adhesive behind vellum or it will show and it is NOT pretty.  Think of ways to attach it by layering objects over it, such as I did on the corners of my vellum piece.
Click here to see my Aunt Vivian's layout and compare the two.  It helps give you more ideas for planning your layouts.
