4" Fall Cards

I had so much fun at my Christmas Retreat yesterday, even though it cost me keeping off my wounded leg today but, hopefully, it will come around again.  I have two cards from you today that are 4" square cards with lots and lots of texture.  Enjoy them and then scroll down to see some special reminders for you.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you have a coupon from Toby Joe for $10. off an upcoming class, you may use it for $10. off the card kits shown below.  Be sure whenever you use a coupon that you have it with you.  I need these for tax records.

Special Reminders:

Christmas Card Kits for sale!

You're In My Thoughts Card

Here's a card for you today that uses a favorite technique of mine ... embossing, sponging and then spritzing over the embossed layer for your card.  I've used this technique many times because it always turns out to be just beautiful.
I watercolored a bit of background on the circle piece and then embossed the sentiment with our new Copper EP.  I also sponged around the edges to give it more dimension.
The circle piece is attached with dimensionals, with a couple pieces of ribbon beneath it.  This card could be used for many occasions.  It's good to keep a bunch of cards in your stash that can be adapted to multiple occasions, so you'll always be prepared.
I always love the look of all these Fall colors together.

Fall Banner with Embossed Copper Letters

I am excited to share my latest banner with you today.  It's for Fall and it has embossed letters.  In my next post, I'll share a tutorial on how I made them.
The pictures kind of speak for themselves.
I added embossed leaves between each of the banner pieces.
This was really fun to create and I love how it turned out.
In my next post, I'll share a tutorial for how to create the embossed letters.

The World's Most Beautiful Butterfly

In honor of World Card Making Day, I'm sharing one of my most favorite cards ever.  I think it's the world's most beautiful butterfly.
I cut the heart (Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits Dies) from watercolor paper, sponged it with Fall colors, spritzed with water to activate the colors, and then placed the butterfly die over it and cut again.  I attached it to a copper foil butterfly and then spritzed them both ... a lot:)
Click here to see a tutorial on creating this type of butterfly.
I just love this butterfly!  The background on the card base is sponged and then spritzed with shimmer mist.  The circle (watercolor paper) behind the butterfly does not have shimmer on it, so it acts as a bridge between the shimmer background and the shimmery butterfly.  This creates more interest and texture than if you'd added shimmer to everything.
This is truly one of my favorites!
Don't forget these upcoming events:
October 1 is World Card Making Day.
