Stars and Snowflakes Wreaths

With my knee surgery taking place in December, I didn't get to share all my Christmas projects with you before Christmas.  I am going to go ahead and share my projects over the next several posts, so you won't miss out on them.  Tuck them away for ideas to make for next Christmas OR, follow my New Year's Resolution for 2014 and make some Christmas projects all through the year.  We'll have the best decorated homes ever for 2014!

Today, I'll share a couple of smaller wreaths I 'remade' for Christmas.  These wreaths started out with a styrofoam base wrapped in burlap.  They originally had fabric flowers on them.  I removed (and saved) the flowers and turned them into Christmas wreaths by adding silver snowflakes and stamped/embossed stars, then finished them off with tiny punched stars hanging in the center.  I really enjoyed decorating with them for the holidays.  You could actually leave them up all winter.
TIP 1:
Punch 2 of the tiny stars and sandwich linen thread inside them, with the stars back to back.  Make at least 3 to 5 like this to hang inside each wreath.  Vary the lengths of linen thread for artistic interest.

TIP 2:
Score the stamped stars on each of the lines in the design.  Fold as shown in the photo above, with mountain and valley folds.  This really makes the stars look elegant.  Attach all the stars and snowflakes using a glue gun.

TIP 3:
Using an idea I got from Pinterest, I mounted removable hooks on the inside of my cabinet doors and looped the linen thread around the hook and over the door to hang the wreath.  I love this idea and have used it a lot!

Bermuda Bay Christmas

We're back to Christmas today, with some embossing, a little sparkle and beautiful Bermuda Bay.  Here's one of the cards we'll be making at my Oct. 11 / 13 card classes.  I love the silver sparkle of the Silver Glimmer Paper with the Bermuda Bay.  I kept the design simple, to show off the elegance of the silver and the embossing... and the beautiful stamp.

If you're wondering where I got this stamp, it's one of our new Singles stamps.  I love it.  I couldn't wait to see it embossed.  The card is pretty quick to make when you cut the circle with the Circles Collection Framelits and the Big Shot.  I don't think I could function in my studio without my Big Shot!

Crosses of Hope

As I gasp, cough and wheeze my way through the morning, here is a post with a trio of cards in the beautiful combination of Pool Party and Soft Suede.

I wanted these cards to have a lot of rich texture, so I dry embossed one and heat embossed the other two.  I love the soft look of these colors together.

I am really fighting my asthma and allergies, so I'm staying in a lot - which means I'm in my studio and stamping up a storm - between breathing treatments.  I love Spring, but it doesn't seem to love me.  I have lots to share with you, so it will be an action-packed week coming up on my blog.  I have more layouts, cards from our Team Meeting, and sneak peeks for this Thursday night.  Come back soon!!!

This card could be for Easter or any special occasion.  I am using it today to wish you a blessed Easter Day.
Have a wonderful Easter as we celebrate in its meaning, its hope and its joy.

Up next:
More wreaths, fabric ideas (including no-sew ideas) and a ton of fun.  Come back soon.

Another Fancy Card

Here's another fancy card for my Friday (Wrapping Up Christmas) class.  This one has embossing, shimmer, gorgeous ribbon, and beautiful glimmer paper.  It's all silver and white and very, very elegant.

The ornament is embossed with our Pewter EP.  I even embossed the flap of the envelope.   The oval frame that's embossed on the card is done with our Holiday Frame Embossing Folder.  The envelope flap was embossed with our Delicate Design Folders (comes in a set of two!).
The ornament was cut with the Holiday Ornaments framelits.  I'm all ready for my Friday class and can't wait to enjoy more Christmas stamping with friends.  I'll share more of the projects soon, as well as some super cute projects using the Sweets of the Season kit.  I can't wait to show you!

Playing with Pewter

Yes, I've been playing with pewter --- embossing powder, that is.  I love it!  Check it out:
I've used the same design with 3 color combinations.  The 'Noel' is from Greetings of the Season.  I've used ribbons or baker's twine in various ways, as accents on each card.  Here's some more embossing with our Pewter EP.

That's it for today.  Believe it or not, I'm working with a different 'toy' in my studio this week --- my sewing machine.  Yes!  I dusted it off, plugged it in and am busy making fun projects for Christmas gifts.  These will be on sale in my new booth which is scheduled to open on Black Friday.  If you're in downtown Decatur, stop in at the Wildflour and have a delightful lunch.  You'll probably hear a lot of busy sounds from the worker bees who are frantically trying to complete the Root Cellar in time for the grand opening.  It will be an Artisans and Antiques Mall!  My booth (Prairie Treasures) will feature hand made cards, gifts and home decor items --- all made with our Stampin' Up! products, including fabric!  I'm having a lot of fun getting ready for the big opening and can't wait to share more about it with you.  Come back soon!

It's a Date!

I decided to make some cute little calendars to add to my customers' orders in January.  Here's what I came up with:

They have a magnet on the back so they can be hung on the fridge.

I also made one for myself that I can fold and carry in my purse:

...close-up:
These were stamped with the Creative Elements stamp set and embossed with our wonderful Pewter EP.

Here's one I made to hang in my studio.  I used the Attic Boutique DSP and our wonderful new Framelits dies.  They are fabulous and it's so easy to work with them!
Here are some other calendars I've made in the past:

Here's a calendar that comes with a plastic cover, to protect it in your purse.  I slipped in some DSP (Berry Blossoms) and it becomes a fun item to carry with you.

I'm also showing here the way I used the Berry Blossoms DSP to decorate the inside of the cases I use for my class kits.  It's fun to set up the table for a class or workshop and have everything all coordinated and ready for some stamping fun.
Here's what's inside the kit.  I keep my ribbon scissors (since they're so much larger than what would fit in the case) in a container in the center of the table, along with my Liquid Tombow, pens, etc. for customers to use during classes and workshops.

I hope something in today's post will inspire you to create a project of your own.  Now go stamp something!
