A Few More Spring Treats and Projects

Before I get too much further along into moving toward the new catalog transition, I thought I'd share a few more Spring projects I've made over the past month or so.

My mission style library table was filled with all things Spring.
I found this little 3-tier holder recently and had to bring it home.  It matches the new accent colors in my studio (Pool Party/Coastal Cabana and Pear Pizzazz/Lucky Limeade).
I have seen a lot of these cute little baskets online.  I guess great minds think alike.  Whenever you have a die like this, it's easy to imagine using it for a 3-D project.  These tiny bunnies fit very nicely and look so cute!
I made a lot of different colors of mini egg cartons.
The cards in my cute little 'bird cage' are from an SAB kit.  They were super fun and easy to make.
... a close-up ...
These cute little mini Spring treat holders were inspired by Lisa (click here).  They are filled with foil wrapped chocolate eggs.  (Yum!!!)
I love this little Spring bunny!  The bow is a tuxedo bow.  It's on page 15 in my ribbons album.  The bow holds the box closed so the eggs don't escape and no one has to tear up your cute little box to get to the treats inside.
I put robin's eggs (malted milk!!!) in these cute little mini coffee cups.  If you're inspired by any of these projects, be sure to check out the Occasions Catalog, before the sales period ends.  Some items are gone already and others are available at a reduced price.

What's inside?

We had a wonderful time at our Scraps and Prayers class Monday night.  I love this group!  You saw the outside of our cute little mini egg cartons.  Would you like to see what we put inside them?
These little chocolates fit perfectly.  Most all of the Mini Egg Cartons that I've seen did not spritz the inside of the box but left it plain white.  I thought it needed color:)
Here, again, is the front of my decorated mini egg carton.
I've made a bunch of these, in several colors, so I'll enjoy getting to share some fun treats with friends.
Here are some other ideas for what you could put inside:

decorative eggs - whatever you'd like to make
decorative robin's eggs and some nesting materials
plastic eggs with treats inside
jelly beans and Easter grass
wooden eggs, painted
paper mache eggs
tiny little succulents, in potting soil
little Easter chicks (decorative)
Peeps
money:)

What else can you suggest to put inside?

A Huge Spring Wreath

Today, I have a huge wreath to share with you.  Using flowers from our Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit, I created a wreath to go above our fireplace mantel.

I started with a large grapevine wreath, wrapped burlap ribbon around it, along with some wired beads.  I love the rustic look of the wired beads.  This wreath had a lot of extra twiggy pieces on it and I loved that, too.
There are butterfly accents, as well, and a couple of little loops of jute accents.   I also added a few extra flowers that were punched and/or die cut, as well as some extra sprigs of burlap ribbon and finished it all with a burlap bow with long streamers hanging down the side of the wreath.  With a project like this one, I ended up making it, hanging it up, taking it down and adding a bit more this and that, and repeating this process a few times.  It was worth it in the end.  I love how it turned out.
I took it outside to photograph it in good lighting.  It looks wonderful above the mantel.  Here are some close-ups of the flowers and butterflies.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my huge wreath and that maybe it will inspire you to try one yourself.  It was a lot of fun to make it.  Come back soon and I'll share how all the living room decor came together for Spring.

My Curly Wreath and a Framed Project

After all those pages from my Ribbon Techniques Album, today I want to share with you a project uses tons of ribbon in a super fun and super easy way to create a beautiful home decor project.  This is one of my latest wreaths.  This was by far one of my top favorite projects I've ever made.  It was just soooooo much fun... except for several very bad burns from my glue gun.  It gets really hot!  I used some of the flowers from our Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit, along with a lot of our burlap ribbon.  I love how it turned out!
I also used a few punched flowers and die cut flowers.  The wreath base is from the kit.  I wrapped it first with burlap, to give a beautiful, finished look to it.
For the loops, I cut short pieces of burlap, stapled them together, and then hot glued them to the wreath base, being careful to keep the staple hidden in the back.  As you can see, I used a random pattern for them.  I wonder how a Fall wreath with this loopy technique would look.  Hmmmmmm...
... and, remember my cute little card from Laura?  I found my square frame (finally) and framed it.  Won't this be fun to use to decorate again next Easter?  I love it.  Thanks again, Laura!
It makes me happy to keep projects like this close by.  I think of my special friend whenever I look at it.
