A Message For My Local Customers

Unfortunately, I have lost access to my email account and am trying to get it straightened out.  In the meantime, I probably have a thousand emails piled up waiting for me.  If you have emailed me and I have not answered, please contact me by phone if you need me.  If you wish to pick up a class kit (see available pick-up dates below) please contact me by phone until I get my account reset.

For our January Scraps and Prayers, I am not able to hold classes yet here in my home.  We're about to install kitchen flooring and new carpet (living room, hallway and steps leading to my studio) and I am still cleaning.  However ... I don't want us to miss a month of creating and I've already based our February class on having completed the January project, so I've come up with a way to have it all.
 Here's the scoop
  • The project is a decorated tin and 2 cards (using embossing folders).
  • I will have 7 available tins and card kits.
  • I will make up the cards and supplies to decorate the tin as a class kit.
  • Each kit will be $15.  (Scraps and Prayers fees will be raised to $18. in February ... for the remainder of 2019.)
  • Arrange a time with me to pick up your kit.
  • Pick up your kit any time from January 14-19, while supplies last.
  • Pay your fee when you pick up your kit.
  • Read the directions on my next post and complete your kit.
  • Bring your kit to class in February.
  • All those bringing their kit to class will receive a special surprise.
  • 2019 will be our year to really get creative, so let your creative juices flow!
  • I can't wait to see everyone's completed projects!!!
SPECIAL NOTE:
I've been working on my 2019 schedule and have posted classes and events for January - June of 2019.  Check it out here!

SUPER IMPORTANT
I have catalogs available.  Contact me to pick up yours.
Here's what I have available for you:
  • SAB (Sale-A-Bration) Catalog
  • Paper Pumpkin Flyer
  • Occasions Catalog

Why are you still waiting?

So why are you still waiting and haven't gotten around to coming to a class or event for a while?  Procrastination is just not a good thing, when it comes to getting around to taking time out of your busy life to do something for yourself.  It isn't selfish.  It's refreshing, so you can give a better version of yourself to others.

If you live in the area, come to my Summer Open House Party.  It's this Sunday, August 26, from 2:00 to 5:00.  Your total dollar amount (before tax and shipping) from your order can be used for equal credit at my garage sale.  I have added many more stamping goodies in the past couple weeks, along with more household goods and a lot of clothes that are too big for me now.

So here's the scoop on the party.
You'll find lots of displays for your creative inspiration, demonstrations on better ways to use the Big Shot, examples of Brusho, Stampin' Blends, and Watercolor Pencils, sneak peeks for upcoming classes, several new framed projects, and more.  Wow!  We're talking fun!!!  Also, I'll have some healthy snacks for you to enjoy while visiting with friends and, of course, several fun Make and Take projects.  But wait!  There's more!  I have a fun favor for you to take home and enjoy and, for those placing orders of $35. or more, I have a special gift that you can take with you, also.  And, speaking of orders, you'll have a surprise gift in with your order, also.  If you order online, you can use the Hostess Code below and still earn your surprise gift.  You can order online whether you come to the party or not.  Online orders will come directly to you and you can pick up your surprise gift the next time you're here.  Please feel free to use party time to ask questions about new products or upcoming classes, as well.

Also, those who have placed orders in June or July will get to choose their special gift from that order while they're here at the party.

So, why are you still waiting?  It's not a good idea to wait too long.  Do something for you ... to take care of you.

I'm waiting for your RSVP and I hope it's a YES!
This poor guy waited too long.

Crafting is Good for Your Health

I've been working on some class ideas for 2016.  This is an exciting thing to do!  I have many more ideas than I can realistically cram into one year.  I'll go for the best of the best.
If you have some ideas for classes that you'd plan to attend, be sure to let me know.  I'm all ears!  If you do not live in my area, feel free to suggest ideas you'd like me to share on my blog.  I'll try my best.

Be sure to plan some 'me' time for yourself in 2016.  It will keep you grounded and sane.  Crafting with others is extra good for you, so be sure to keep checking to see what I'm adding to my schedule.

What's in The Box?

I have LOTS of exciting news in today's post, so be sure to keep scrolling so you don't miss a thing!  Previously, I gave you a sneak peek at this next project over on the side of my blog and in my last post.  Did you guess what's in the box?  If you guessed an organized card keeping system, you are correct!  What better way to start off the new year than to get organized.  As I've been sprucing up my studio, I decided to include improved organization wherever I found a need.  Having cards more easily accessible was at the top of the list for me.  I had them organized all along, but they were in a basket inside a drawer.  Sometimes out of sight really is out of mind.  I decided that if I made a pretty box that coordinated with my studio decor, I could keep it out and actually use it!!!
Are you wishing you could make one, too?  Well, you're in luck!  We'll be making this at the first session of my brand new class --- Monday Night Stampers.  We'll begin on Monday, March 3, 6:00-8:30.  I'm very excited about offering this brand new class.  We will focus on a special project, theme or technique at each class.  Class fee is just $18.00 OR free with your order of $35.00 or more (before tax and shipping).  Orders or class registration must be paid at least 2 days prior to the class and may be placed from any current catalog or special promotion -- online through my website or directly through me.  These wonderful boxes are from my retired stash, so I have a limited number of them.  Class spots are only available while my supply of boxes lasts, so hurry to sign up for our first Monday Night Stampers class.

We'll be adding a title to each card, to label the sections in our box.  You'll know at a glance which cards are low and what you'll need to make next.
The tabs for each file card are made with one of our new tag top punches.  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  (Say that 5 times in a row, fast:)
We also have an Angled Tag Topper punch.  It would work for this project, as well and give an entirely different look.
Aren't these new punches just fabulous?!!!  I'm already working to fill up my new cards box.  Whenever I need a card right away, I can go to my cards box and find just what I need.  Here's how the labels will look for our dividers.
I used the Scalloped Oval Punch to punch out typed labels.  I decided to type them so they would all be a uniform size.  I added an extra divider in the front with a pocket.  This pocket is for stamps, etc. for your cards.  You'll have no excuse now for not getting that card into the mail on time.

July Stamp Club: Color Camp

I love playing with color.  Whenever I begin a design, I pretty much always begin by planning my colors.  After that, I work on the design, the layout, and then plan my images and embellishments.

I guess I've always been good at working with colors and often do it without even thinking about it.  My eye tells me what looks good.  Sometimes, though, we need a little help.  I have years of experience with studying art, taking art classes, studying art in college, and, best of all, sitting beside my mom and watching her work with colors.  She used colors in her quilting and painting and loved to decorate our home with beautifully coordinated colors.  I guess I inherited the genes for all that, too.

At times when you may feel stuck on planning your colors, we have a tool to help you --- our wonderful Color Coach.  I like to use it to come up with different color combinations that I may not have thought of using together.  Our July Stamp Camp will focus entirely on playing with color.  I'll teach you how to effectively use the Color Coach.  We'll explore all about working with colors and how to plan out color stories that you will love.
Above:  Here is the color ring that each recipient will receive at our Color Camp.

    Tag, You're It!

Ideally, we'd all like to have the time to make elaborate Christmas cards that are rich in texture, layers and embellishments, make lots of them and share them with all our friends and loved ones.

Realistically,  that is seldom the case.  We are all busy people, but that doesn't mean we have to give up on the idea of sharing something special with friends and family.

Sometimes, when you're in a hurry, there's a way you can still come up with some cards that are super cute and fun.

Enter into the scene:  Our Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags.  I've shown you how to create a cute little box for them and actually use them as tags, but you can use them for cards, too.  Here are a few ideas of how to incorporate them into your card designs.  Notice that I've used embossing folders and punches in my creations as well - yet another time saver.  So... you do have time to make your own cards this year.  Now, give it a try!
Still worried that you won't finish or won't have all the supplies you need to make your own cards?  Let me help you!  Sign up for one of my Christmas classes and I'll have it all prepared for you.

    Here's What We Did...

Here are the cards we made at my Touch of Christmas class, from Oct. 19.  We enjoyed a variety of stamp sets, layers, textures, embellishments and yummy colors.  If you missed the class and still want to make cards and projects for Christmas, check out my schedule for these dates --- Nov. 16, Nov. 29, and Dec. 14.
Here's a close-up of one of my favorites.  Envelopes are included in all my classes, so you can stamp coordinating envelopes for your cards.
We also made projects for Christmas.   Here's one of my favorites.
This cute little box was made with the Fancy Favor Box die and a flocked window sheet (from our Candlelight Christmas Specialty Papers).  It is filled with treats and has cute little pennant flags popping out of it.
Here's another project we made that was super fun.  I have gift boxes and note cards left and a couple of the tea bag holders, in case you missed out on these.

I have enough of these left that the kits will be available as an additional project choice at the More Christmas, Please class.  We'll have 5 new cards and 5 new projects + a few odds and ends, in case you missed something.  You'll get to choose any 10 items that you'd like to make.  Time and materials remaining, you may purchase additional kits at $2.00 each.  You may even wish to stock up on a few to make later at home.  I hope you'll come and join in on the fun at one of my next classes.

In a hurry but still want to stamp?  Try one of my Friday 3-4-5 classes or the Cards and Prayers classes.  You'll be glad you did!

Friday 3-4-5 is coming again --- this Friday, September 7.  Here are a couple of cards from one of our last 3-4-5 Card Buffet classes.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    So Much Fun!

I had so much fun at my class last night.  I love working with my customers and seeing them make their cards, tweek my designs and personalize them, talk about who will get each card they're making...  It's just so much fun.

Last night was extra special because one of my customers brought me a new person who was brand new to stamping.  I love, love, love introducing people to stamping and seeing them take to it --- kind of like a duck to water:)  All in all, what an enjoyable evening of stamping we had!  I can't wait for our next get together!

Here are some of the cards we made.  These were made with the Moving Forward stamp set.  This is a special stamp set because Stampin' Up! donates $3.00 (for each stamp set sold) to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  It's a great stamp set and a great way to help others, not to mention making cards to share with others, too.  Talk about a 'win/win' situation!

Today will be a great day because I will be doing some more stamping in my studio.  I can't wait to share more projects with you!  Come back and see what I'll be making next.

If you have a specific stamp set that you'd like to see me use in a project, please leave me a comment.  Have a great day and a great weekend!

Why I love being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

There are so many reasons why I love my job.  Today, I'd like to share a few of them with you.
    • Meeting new people.
    • Making new friends.
    • Stamping.

Of course there are many, many other reasons and benefits, but these are at the top of my list.  The other night, I had the most wonderful time with the most wonderful people.  It was my Friday 3-4-5 class.  You come and make 3 cards, 6 cards, or 9 cards.  One person actually chose to make 12 cards that night.  They all came in tired, a little stressed, desperately needing to have a fun outing, desperately needing to stamp and be with friends... and I was able to fill that need for them.  We had a wonderful time and all left with big smiles on their faces, not to mention a great stash of cards.

Here's one of the cards we made:

The Friday 3-4-5 class is the one and only class (because it's a card buffet) that you can sign up at the last minute, if you have a quirky schedule, and still get in --- if I still have openings.

My Fun Friday Project Nights are classes where you absolutely must pay to register at least 2 days in advance, because I cut kits only for those who have already paid.  This keeps down the cost of my classes, a savings for you.

August - December Fun Friday Project Nights are $25. each and we'll make 8-10 projects each time!  It's a great deal, but here's a way to make it even better:
    • Place an order of $15. and take $5. off your class fee.
    • Place an order of $20. and take $10. off your class fee.
    • Place an order of $25. and take $15. off your class fee.
    • Place an order of $30. and take $20. off your class fee.
    • Place an order of $35. and take the class for free!!!!!!!
I already have people registered for some of these classes, so be sure to sign up early and hold your spot.  There will be new projects at each and every class.

    Convention 2012: Class Samples

We attended so many fabulous classes at Convention.  There were times that I think we feared our brains would explode with all the great ideas, samples and projects that we took in at each session.
Here are just a few of the many great ideas we saw:

I'll be sharing with you just how some of these projects are made at my Fun Friday Projects Class:  Holiday Party theme, on Friday, August 24.  You really must sign up for this class.  You'll be glad you did!
