A Wonderful Party Hat for My Fall Decor

Before I get started on my new mini series of tutorials on OSW cards, I just have to show you what I just finished making.  I'm not always big on kits because they sometimes stifle my creativity, but this project was made with a kit I just love!
Isn't it great?  I feel like it's cute and pretty all at the same time.  I don't always decorate a lot for Halloween, but this kit just grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go.
These are the same berry baskets I shared with you in a previous post (click here).  I just changed out the contents to Fall leaves, using our beautiful new Vintage Leaves stamps and coordinating Leaflets Framelits.  My leaves are embossed in gold EP.  I'm trying to NOT use candy in my displays.  It's too tempting and I don't want to lure the puppies into showing any interest at all in my displays.
The Witching Decor Project Kit also comes with more supplies to make a big Halloween label decoration on the front of the hat.  I haven't decided yet if I'll add it to my hat or use it for something else.  I really like my hat the way it is right now.  In addition to all the leaves in the kit, I added a few leaves cut from our new Black Glimmer Paper.  I love it!

I'll probably continue to tweak my display, but this is what I have right now.  I love decorating for Fall!  Right now, I'm working on the Season to Season Wreath Project Kit.  It's fun!  So far, I haven't even burned myself with my glue gun.  Even if I do at this point, it's still a record for me.  By the way, this witch hat is surprisingly quick and easy to make so, if you're interested in a beautiful Halloween decoration, this is the one for you!
Be sure to come back as I start my new mini series tutorials.  Now, I'm off to finish my beautiful wreath.

Here's What We Had at My Party

I just realized that I'd never shared the projects and all that I had at my party.  So... today's the day.  We made 2 cards and a cute little box project.  Everyone got several gifts and we all had a lot of fun!
I added my class schedule to the back of the bookmark gifts, for a handy reference.
This card was a real favorite of mine.
These cute little boxes actually came from a kit and they are adorable!
Going antiquing last year and finding this berry picking box worked out perfectly to hold my berry basket gifts for everyone.  I forgot to take a photo before the party, but here are a few boxes that were picked up later in the week after the party.
This berry picking box holds 6 berry baskets.  I have another white one that holds even more.  Fun!
It was a great time and I enjoyed spoiling everyone with special gifts and treats.

If you live in the area and like parties, be sure to add Sunday afternoon, November 1 to your calendars.  I'm having my Christmas Open House early this year!  It will be from 2:00-5:00.  I'm already planning all the fun we'll have at the party.

I have to run now.  I have a full house coming to my class this afternoon.  It will be another fun day of creating.

A Trio of Berry Baskets, A Video, A Promise, A Tip ...and An Update on My Creative Binge

I must confess that, when the Spring Occasions Catalog came out, I was super excited to get the Berry Basket Bigz Die.  And then... it sat and waited for me to get around to playing with it.  Well, last week, I finally had time to do just that.  I love it!!!  Thanks goodness it didn't retire before I could create with it.  So, today, I have a trio of berry baskets to share with you.
Aren't they cute?  I used some of our new Cotton Papers (Watermelon Wonder) for the 'filler' in my baskets.  I have an old shredder that only cuts one way.  I got it and reserved it for just this purpose... tearing up perfectly good papers... to make filler:)
I made bunches of butterflies... gold foil and Delightful Dijon... and used them to decorate (and for a non-fattening treat in the baskets:)  Do you see some new ribbon on the two end baskets?  It is like our retired In Colors ribbon... soft, smooth, shiny and luscious... not to mention how easy it is to work with it.
If you plan to make some berry baskets of your own, be sure to watch this video.  It will make your work absolutely easy as pie!

My promise:
When a new product arrives in the little brown truck, I will not put it away until I've played with it a bit and put it to good creative use.  I've already made sure that all my new stamps got put together and totally ready to use as soon as I unpacked them.

Tip:
How do I store my stamps?  I organize them according to the categories in the table of contents in each new catalog when it comes out each year.  I number the categories and then write that number on the back of the stamp case.  If it does not retire but moves to a new category when a new catalog comes out, I simply remove the number (alcohol wipe) and label it with its new number.  It makes it super easy to put them all away and to find them when I need them.  Each box has a labeled tag on it with the category title and the number.
When the box is full, no more stamps for that category.  I've always made it fit.  I do have 2 boxes for Artistic Expression.  It's easy to tell what style of stamps I love the most.  The tiny Christmas stash will grow soon... no problem:)

Are you ready for my creative binge update?
- 12 albums completed and printed from MDS, right before it retired
-  4 framed projects
- 70 brand new cards... yes, 70!

Now, I must sign off and go make something beautiful today.
