New Fall Decor and Favorite Past Christmas Projects

I took one of my Christmas decorations off my movie reel and added a Fall decoration.  I'm fortunate to have 2 of these wonderful old reels.  And... yes, I still remember how to thread the old movie projectors.  Those were the days!

Below, close-up from above banner:

I had 4 people have to cancel (family emergencies) for the November Christmas Retreat, so I still have 4 spots available.  Therefore, you may still register for this great class.  It's going to be a lot of fun and you'll go home with 18 cards --- 3 of each design.
If you are unable to attend, kits are available for $30.

A Fall Display/Quick Tip for Creating Displays

I thought you might enjoy one of my Fall displays, showing how my Fall banner (from a previous post) fits in with it all.
A quick tip for easy displays:
I found the frame at our local craft store.  I came up with a new and easy way to add the cards for display.  I placed a magnet behind each section of the 'window' frame.  When I want to display a card, I hold it in place with a second magnet inside the card.  It's worked out to be a great way to quickly display cards and easily change them out when I want to update my display.

Plain And Simple And Just Perfect

As you saw with my witch hat in a previous post, sometimes I just like to keep things plain and simple.  I took that path when making my new wreath, too.  I love it!
I made it as full as I possibly could and it's nice and fluffy.  I added just a simple burlap bow to it.

I did make all the little banners, too, so I can add one if I feel like changing the look.
I think it goes nicely with my witch hat.
Making new decor for this Fall has really been fun!  Now, I'm off to work on cards for my Christmas Retreat.  Wow!  Talk about fun!!!

A Wonderful Party Hat for My Fall Decor

Before I get started on my new mini series of tutorials on OSW cards, I just have to show you what I just finished making.  I'm not always big on kits because they sometimes stifle my creativity, but this project was made with a kit I just love!
Isn't it great?  I feel like it's cute and pretty all at the same time.  I don't always decorate a lot for Halloween, but this kit just grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go.
These are the same berry baskets I shared with you in a previous post (click here).  I just changed out the contents to Fall leaves, using our beautiful new Vintage Leaves stamps and coordinating Leaflets Framelits.  My leaves are embossed in gold EP.  I'm trying to NOT use candy in my displays.  It's too tempting and I don't want to lure the puppies into showing any interest at all in my displays.
The Witching Decor Project Kit also comes with more supplies to make a big Halloween label decoration on the front of the hat.  I haven't decided yet if I'll add it to my hat or use it for something else.  I really like my hat the way it is right now.  In addition to all the leaves in the kit, I added a few leaves cut from our new Black Glimmer Paper.  I love it!
Click here to see a video about making this wonderful hat.
I'll probably continue to tweak my display, but this is what I have right now.  I love decorating for Fall!  Right now, I'm working on the Season to Season Wreath Project Kit.  It's fun!  So far, I haven't even burned myself with my glue gun.  Even if I do at this point, it's still a record for me.  By the way, this witch hat is surprisingly quick and easy to make so, if you're interested in a beautiful Halloween decoration, this is the one for you!
Be sure to come back as I start my new mini series tutorials.  Now, I'm off to finish my beautiful wreath.

Framed Project with Pumpkins

Happy first day of October!  With only 5 days remaining before we get to bring home our 2 puppies, I feel like time is flying and I have so much to do!  It's a wonderful time of the year and I do love it.  Here's another project I made using my sponged/embossed CS technique.  This time, it's pumpkins instead of leaves.
Here's a close-up of the pumpkins and the embossed image.  I love this Halloween Street stamp!
Remember this?  If not, you can click here and take a look.
I wonder what else I could make using this technique.  Hmmmmmmm.  I guess you'll just have to come back and see.  I do have lots more to share with you.  Have a great day.

Fall Decor Ideas

Today, I thought I'd share some decorating ideas with you for the Fall season.  I love, love, love decorating for this season.  The colors and textures are just wonderful.  Here's how I've used my new framed project for Fall.
Here are some other Fall decor ideas I've used in my living room and dining room.
This cute little chair was actually from a set of TWO that I found on one of our antiquing days.  I totally forgot to take a 'before' photo of them.  They were super grungy, partly pale minty green, partly smudged with white and the paint was badly chipped.  I cleaned them up and gave them a coat of bright red.  I was carrying them into the house to give them a new home in the family room and stopped at the fireplace hearth and went:  "hmmmm..."  ... and that's where they ended up... at least for now.  I just love them.  They were to be for my Prairie Treasures booth, but I can't part with them just yet --- maybe never:)

You can see the woven burlap ribbon around the garland in the above photo and the three below.  I cut a V in the ends of the ribbons.  This adds a really nice touch and it's super easy to do.  I wish I'd thought of it a long time ago.

Here are before and after shots of the fireplace and mantle.  I wove burlap ribbon around the Fall garland.  I love how it turned out.  It's in the 'finished' photo.
Before:
Partly finished:
And finished... at least for the time being  (I do tweak all the time):
Here's a close-up of the old coal bucket.  I found it at a garage sale for $5.00.  I love when that happens!  I spritzed the pine cones with some of my White Frost Shimmer Paint/alcohol spritz I made.
... and outside, I've change out my decor to a little more Fall...
I was able to save my fabric flowers from the 'shutter/flower box' and then made the Fall arrangement.
Have a great day and I hope you'll try some of my decorating ideas.
