Happy Halloween!

I haven't done as much with Halloween cards or projects for this year, but I like what I did make.  Hope you have a happy and safe Halloween today!  My husband and I are suffering from terrible chest colds, so I don't think we'll be doing much for Halloween.  I've totally lost my voice and the puppies wonder why I'm squeaking at them instead of talking.

Table Decor for Every Month of the Year, Part 4

Today, I'll be wrapping up this little series by sharing what I made for October, November and December.
For October, I used our wonderful little Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies.  They are in our current Holiday Catalog.  I love them!!!  I'll be sharing more ideas for using these in some of my future posts.  They have been super popular and I am constantly amazed and what people come up with using them.

I die cut the leaves, crumpled them, sponged them, added bits of VersaMark ink and sprinkled on a bit of gold EP and heat embossed them.  I then went over them again with the same ink and Iridescent Ice EP.  They are really pretty!

For December, I used our retired die to make the doves.  I actually cut 2 layers for each piece of Shimmery White CS and adhered them together, to make the dove more likely to hold up for future use.  I embossed the wings.  I love them!
I hope I've given you some good ideas to use for your own decor.  Any of these centerpieces can be adapted to make use of what you have in your own stash.  Enjoy!

Fall Card With Cute Little Squares

I've taken some time off to work on puppy training and hope to get back to a lot more stamping now, as well.  Here's another Fall card for you today with cute little squares.
Once again, I stayed with colors from our Color Me Autumn DSP for my color story.  I've used Crushed Curry, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.  I've embossed the layer directly beneath the squares.  I've spritzed a little sparkle onto the embossed layer, but I don't think you can see it in the photo.
The leaf squares are popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals and I sponged around the little banner.
You'll notice that I have a couple more cut leaves, as embellishments on this card.  (I made a lot of them)  Here's the set of framelits I used to cut them.
They are shown here on the magnetic card I use to store them.  Notice how I added a number to the top corner, to remind me to check if they're all back on the card before I put them away.
Puppy Update:
The puppy training is still quite a full-time job but I do have lots to share with you and think it will be easier, as time goes by, to keep up with it all.  They are growing fast and my days of carrying them both at the same time will soon be over.  They have lots of toys and I love watching them play with them all in their pen.  The play pen has been a life-saver!  Buster can go up and down the 4 steps off our deck.  Lilly has a harder time going down, because she is smaller.  All this would be a lot easier if we hadn't had so many wet, rainy days here.  Thanks for stopping by and come back soon.

Framed Project with Pumpkins

Happy first day of October!  With only 5 days remaining before we get to bring home our 2 puppies, I feel like time is flying and I have so much to do!  It's a wonderful time of the year and I do love it.  Here's another project I made using my sponged/embossed CS technique.  This time, it's pumpkins instead of leaves.
Here's a close-up of the pumpkins and the embossed image.  I love this Halloween Street stamp!
Remember this?  If not, you can click here and take a look.
I wonder what else I could make using this technique.  Hmmmmmmm.  I guess you'll just have to come back and see.  I do have lots more to share with you.  Have a great day.

Burlap Leaves

In my previous post, I promised to share more Fall leaf projects with you.  While I had out my leaf framelits, I decided to try something new... cutting burlap ribbon.  I loved it!
Here's how I did it:
1.  Coat burlap ribbon with Mod Podge.
2.  Let dry completely.
3.  Turn over and coat other side.
4.  Let dry completely.
5.  Cut out leaves with leaf framelits.
NOTE:
You will need 1 or 2 shims to help cut through the burlap.
Cut off any needed edges with snips.
The stamping is done by inking with VersaMark ink, then Cajun Craze ink, and then heat embossing with clear EP.
I only used 1 leaf on this card because I didn't want to take away from the simple, yet elegant stamp.  It is highlighted by sponging, using lighter colors as you get to the center.
I used gold ink to stamp the inside of the card and the envelope.
Now, that's not all I have to show you, so be sure to come back for more creative projects for Fall... and more!

Creating Some Beautiful Fall Leaves

Remember this card from my previous post?  I promised to share with you how I made the leaves, so that's what we'll do today.
This is how I did it:
1.  Start with a 4 1/4 X 11" piece of CS (Whisper White or Very Vanilla).
2.  Sponge various Fall colors randomly over the entire piece of CS.
3.  Heat set inks with heat tool.
4.  Stamp a few gold speckles and emboss with gold EP.
5.  Once it cools, place leaf framelits along strip and start cutting your leaves.
6.  With this size of CS, you'll be able to cut a lot of leaves.
7.  Enjoy using the leaves on your projects.

Here are some shots of the process:

I liked this technique so much that I made a few more pieces of sponged CS.  Come back to see what else I made with it all.  I hope you'll get busy making some beautiful Fall cards now, too.

Another Fall Card with Some Special Touches

Here's another card I made using the design I shared here.  On this card, you'll notice some special leaves.  I made them myself, to add some special touches to my card.

I added a few gold speckles, for some added textures.
The inside is prettied up, too, with just a couple of special touches.
So now you're probably wondering how I made the leaves.  Come back for my next post and I'll tell you all about it.
