I have a card for you today that features several fun techniques. We'll be making this one at my class on October 17 and I think it will be a hit. My color story features Mossy Meadow with a tiny touch of Real Red.
The beautiful pines are stamped inside the oval window (behind it, actually) and spritzed with Gold Shimmer Spritz. The oval window piece has beautiful embossing that is highlighted by sponging over it with gold ink.
The little red ribbon is tied around the side of the oval window.
I think a special someone would be glad to get this card in the mail for Christmas.
Come back soon to see an elegant trio of Christmas cards and read my thoughts about what goes into a good Christmas card.
This blog is full of creative inspiration for cards, home decor, gifts, scrapbooking and more. Let's create something beautiful today.

Mother's Day Card for 2015
A nice thing about living fairly close to my MIL and getting to visit her often is that I can make a Mother's Day card for her that is as full of layers and dimension as I want... because I can hand deliver it. Because her flowers were delivered yesterday, I decided to go ahead and give her my card, too. So, since she's seen it, I can go ahead and share it with you. She really liked it, so I hope you will, too.

Falling Leaves Card
It's a dreary day here, threatening to be a little wet and soggy. That makes for a challenge in puppy training. Let's brighten things up with a pretty Fall card. I designed this one with the look of falling leaves in mind.
I used marker to give the greeting two colors. All my colors are based on the color story in the Color Me Autumn DSP, as I had all those colors out making my Fall cards. I added some speckles with gold ink.
I stamped the leaves to remind you of the wind blowing the falling leaves. I sponged the wooden leaf to color it. I really like how this one turned out.
My new puppies love walking in the leaves in our yard. While they're enjoying it all, I keep studying the colors and textures of the leaves, getting new inspiration every time I'm out there, even when they're a bit soggy on days like today. Have a beautiful and a blessed day.

Wooden Leaves Fall Card
Happy World Card Making Day. What a great day to stamp. Yesterday, Jennifer and I did something we haven't done in well over a year. We stamped together! It was so much fun. She created several gorgeous Fall cards and I worked on my upcoming cards for my October 25 Christmas Retreat. I must say that I got into the groove so much that I started stamping again after dinner and the next thing I knew, it was 2:00 in the morning! I 'd already finished all the projects for the Retreat (as well as the projects for my November 22 Retreat) and I now have EVERYTHING finished for my October Retreat. Woo hoo! What a great feeling! I'll share some sneak peeks soon. I have to get it all photographed, watermarked and uploaded.
SPECIAL NEWS:
If you live in my area and place an order (before tax and shipping) of $35. or more from now through October 15, you will earn $10. off the October 25 Retreat!!! I think you'll like what I have planned for you. We'll be making 3 projects using our gorgeous All is Calm DSP. Each project has a special surprise inside it! We'll enjoy a light lunch together and then we'll make 12 cards for Christmas --- 3 each of 4 designs. They'll be using our wonderful Festival of Tress stamp set and coordinating punch. By using the same papers on the projects and the same stamp set on the cards, it will save us time and we should be able to complete everything by the end of the class.
I am holding the enrollment for the Retreat to 6 max!
Register early to save your spot!!!
So... let's get back to Fall for a while. We had a real chill settle in to our area yesterday. It is no longer sitting on the deck weather, so we might as well stay indoors and stamp.
It is so much fun to play with our little wooden elements. Here's a card using them, along with some gold highlights.
Look super closely and you can see that the large leaf in the background is stamped in gold ink.
I left the wooden outline leaf natural and sponged over the solid wooden leaf in Mossy Meadow.
Now go stamp something and enjoy World Card Making Day!

Another Fall Card with Some Special Touches
Here's another card I made using the design I shared here. On this card, you'll notice some special leaves. I made them myself, to add some special touches to my card.
I added a few gold speckles, for some added textures.
The inside is prettied up, too, with just a couple of special touches.
So now you're probably wondering how I made the leaves. Come back for my next post and I'll tell you all about it.

Give Thanks for All Things
As we approach the upcoming holidays, I am reminded of all the many blessings I have in my life for which to be thankful. Here's a card in celebration of it all.
I've stamped the leaves in Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and gold metallic inks.
I love our little wooden accents. Sometimes I add color to them. I decided to just leave these as is.
As one of our stamps says: "Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful." I have a lot in my life right now that has the potential to really get me down. I'm trying to keep my eye on that which is positive and really focus on the good things in life. It sure helps all the rest:)

More In Colors Creations
We've had several uneventful days lately, which is just what we'd hoped for with Bill's situation. We are both trying to catch up on our rest, as we've both felt just absolutely wiped out from it all. We've had so many cards, FB messages, emails, calls and all and I cannot begin to tell you how much they are all appreciated. Thank you for your caring. Now, it's time for some stamping!
How about some more cards using our new In Colors? Did I mention how much I am enjoying the new colors? I really do like them:)
The cute little bird is from our Hello Love Hostess set. I've stamped him in gold Metallic Encore Ink, along with some little 'dots' (in gold) from our Gorgeous Grunge set, for added texture and interest. The cute little star clip is from our new Basic Hodgepodge Clips. I added a little gold stamped bird to the envelope, to coordinate everything.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

Chocolate, Anyone?
I came across an adorable project to make for housing some delicious chocolates. I found it on a blog by Pootles... yes, that's her name for it. She is a talented lady, has a soft, beautiful voice with a gorgeous accent and thinks up the most amazing projects. This one uses some of our gorgeous new vellum, so she had me from the start.
The box is chocolate chip (good for holding chocolates:) and the vellum pieces are made using our new Banners Framelits dies. The vellum comes in silver and gold and each package has 3 designs in it - tiny hearts, polka dots, and stripes. It is absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to come up with more projects for using it.
Here are my boxes:
The cute little tag is stamped in gold ink, from our Sale-A-Bration Banner Blast stamp set. See how the vellum pieces just tuck together so nicely? I love this idea for a closure and wouldn't have thought of it... or at least not for a long time:)
I hope you enjoyed seeing my 'Pootles boxes' and thanks for stopping by my little corner of the blog world.
