Four Days of Sweet Sugarplum, Day Two

After a brief break to share my framed project in my previous post, let's continue on with our Sweet Sugarplum projects.  How about some Sugarplum elephants?
I curled the Baker's Twine by using a flat edge of my closed scissors.  It is held down in a few places with rolled up glue dots.
I used the reverse side of the embossed stars layer, sponged around the edges, and then attached it with dimensionals, for a more textured look.

Five Days of Dapper Denim, Day Two

Are you ready for more Dapper Denim fun?  Let's jump right in with another Dapper Denim card.
I added an extra layer of Dapper Denim, embossed with stars.  I then attached the white layer to another piece of Dapper Denim and offset their placement on the card base ... just for added interest.
Can you just barely make out a few speckles on the white layer?  I added these by gently tapping on my Wink of Stella pen, using my (closed) scissors.  This is fun to do and adds a nice bit of sparkle.
I would normally have closed my registration for my Saturday class, but I had a cancellation and have 1 set of materials all ready to go.  Contact me today if you'd like to join us for this fun artist canvas mixed media project.

I still have one opening for Saturday's class:

Meet Sweet Sugarplum ... Wrapping Up All 5 New Colors

It's no secret that I've never been a big lover of anything plum, but this shade is really, really, really pretty.  Really.  It's soft and luscious and works great with a lot of our other colors.
So now you can see why I'm having such a difficult time choosing my favorite.  Just when I think I've decided, the next day I change my mind.
By the way, the embossing shows up much better in real life.  The light just didn't hit it right.  Maybe I need a different time of day to do my photo shoot ... or maybe... I need a new photographer:)
Okay, time's up!  It's time for you to decide...
Which is your favorite new In Color?????
I will make my decision by June 26 for my Catalog Party/Open House.  Anyone who guesses which color I chose as my new favorite, will win a prize... to be announced the day after the party.

There will also be a prize for anyone who correctly guesses which new stamp set I chose as my favorite for this year.  The better you know the catalog, the more likely you are to guess correctly and win the prizes.  If you don't have a new catalog yet, contact me to stop by and pick one up.  I have one waiting for you!  If you don't have it by the party date, you can get one when you come to the party.

All Ye Faithful, Version Two

Today's card is a second version of my previous post.  They're very similar and use the same stamp set.
In today's card, I've used ovals again, but in a slightly different way and I've added an embossed (and shimmer spritzed) layer beneath the ovals.
Which version do you like the best?

Gratitude for Days Project

Kits can be a lot of fun when you want to be creative but are in a time crunch.  They can also be a way to jump start your creativity by thinking of new ways to use them.  That's what I have for you today... a new way to use our Gratitude for Days Simply Created Kit.  I made one of the 'pockets' into a little Christmas box.

For more ideas, check out this video by Sara Douglas.

Triple Trees

How about some trees times 3 today... triple trees!  Once again, I've been playing with our Festival of Trees stamp set.  I've used Real Red layers for my card and the trees are overlapping, with one up on dimensionals.  The Mingle all the Way stamp set has a great stamp for the envelope.

Fun Frames

We had some new embossing frames come out in our big catalog last summer and I'm just now getting around to playing with them.  I decided to use them for a Christmas card.  They're called Fun Frames and they are fun to use in creating a card.  I've used one of the two frames for this card.
The key elements for this card are lots of layers and lots of texture.  The coordinating envelope is dressed up with Washi Tape in double strips across one corner.
The little tree really pops against the crisp red and white background.

Card #1 for My Christmas Retreat

Here's a closer look at the first card we'll be making at my October 25 Christmas Retreat.
The color story is simple and yet perfect --- Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake, with a touch of Old Olive.   I have always loved the look of the Cherry Cobbler/Crumb Cake color combo.  Using a strip of Washi Tape on the envelope is a quick and easy way to dress it up to coordinate with the card.
Adding the extra layer on Stampin' Dimensionals really sets off the embossing.  This card will be one of my favorites for the season.
Come right back to see another card for my retreat.
