Dotty Angles, Card 1

I missed posting yesterday, with prep for a big PEO party last night.  We had so much fun.  The puppies, along with Toby Joe, had been at the groomers all day, so they were totally wiped out and barely made a sound the entire time.
I have a quick card for you today and I'll have a second version of it in my next post.  This card is bright and cheery, using Bermuda Bay and Real Red.
I used snowflakes and rhinestones for a little bling.  This is one of the cards we made recently at a class featuring backgrounds.  The large, photopolymer stamp makes a great background and it's easy to get it straight, using the grid lines on your stamping paper and this clear stamp.
I dressed up the envelope with a couple strips of Washi Tape.  The circle focal point is mounted with dimensionals, to make it stand out nicely from the background.  And there you have it ... quick, cute, fun, and so very easy.

Fun Frames

We had some new embossing frames come out in our big catalog last summer and I'm just now getting around to playing with them.  I decided to use them for a Christmas card.  They're called Fun Frames and they are fun to use in creating a card.  I've used one of the two frames for this card.
The key elements for this card are lots of layers and lots of texture.  The coordinating envelope is dressed up with Washi Tape in double strips across one corner.
The little tree really pops against the crisp red and white background.

Card #1 for My Christmas Retreat

Here's a closer look at the first card we'll be making at my October 25 Christmas Retreat.
The color story is simple and yet perfect --- Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake, with a touch of Old Olive.   I have always loved the look of the Cherry Cobbler/Crumb Cake color combo.  Using a strip of Washi Tape on the envelope is a quick and easy way to dress it up to coordinate with the card.
Adding the extra layer on Stampin' Dimensionals really sets off the embossing.  This card will be one of my favorites for the season.
Come right back to see another card for my retreat.

Washi Tape Fun

Another quick post today and then I'm headed back to the hospital.  My husband has some serious medical issues we cannot resolve just yet, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  In an effort to think of something besides medical problems today, let's turn to some fun with Washi Tape.
I added rows of Washi Tape to the bottom of some cute tags, topped them with some of our wonderful ribbon and then clipped on some of our silver and gold little mini clothespins.  These would be a great little gift for a special someone.  I also decorated one of my vintage wooden spools with Washi Tape... just for fun!  This tape is from one of our Project Life accessory kits... Everyday Adventure.

I've got a secret... on this card, that is!

Remember this cute Christmas tree card?  I want to share with you a little secret about it.  It has a Washi Tape secret.

I started with a piece of Whisper White CS, covered it with Washi Tape (diagonally) and then...
I embossed it!!!  I love how it changes the look of it all.  I used our square lattice embossing folder.  After that, I attached it to another layer of Whisper White, then a layer of Old Olive.  I attached it all to the Cherry Cobbler card base.

I used our oval framelits for the Christmas tree layer and a Cherry Cobbler mat behind it.  I topped it all off with a cute little bow.  You must give this technique a try.  I made it up myself and want to share it.  Now, go try it and see what you think.

Fun on A Roll ... Washi Tape, Part 1

Our new Washi Tape is just plain fun.  I decided that I needed to make a 'holder' for mine.  Here's what I designed.
I took an old wooden spool I had in my 'stash' of vintage goodies, added a decorative base (2 pieces, stained and glued together) and attached it all together.  Now, my Washi Tape is always on hand and ready to go for the next project inspiration.
So, what are some things you can do with Washi Tape?
You can use it on a card!
This is one of the Make and Take projects we'll be doing at my Open House / New Catalog Party.
What else?  You can stack them up and collect a stash of pretty tapes.  Here, I have Gingham Garden and This and That (Epic Day) Washi Tapes.
What else?  You can use Washi Tape to decorate clothespins!  You could even put a magnet on the back and use them on your fridge.
I use these clothespins as paper clips.  Fridge magnets would be great, too, though.
Come back for my next post and I'll have some more Washi Tape ideas for you.
