Feels Like Frost / In the Woods

Today's card I'm sharing is pretty inside and out.  I am really trying to make the insides of my cards this year be very special, with layers and text and a little stamping and/or DSP.  I'm making the outsides super pretty, so why should you open such a card to find it just plain inside?  It's been a lot of fun.  Everything is coordinated, including the envelopes.  Today's card is extra fancy inside, to stand up to a gorgeous outside, of course.  We'll be making this one at my next Scraps and Prayers class - the one we postponed due to the bad weather on Monday.
The texts on the card front and on the inside are from our new Christmas Rose stamps.  Using the Stamparatus is a MUST for getting both texts into the perfect position.  Look at this gorgeous inside! Love it!  If you want to add a message, you can insert a note ... or just write on the inside of the card front.
I cut both trees from our In the Woods dies, using Shimmery White CS.  I attached the smaller, dimensional tree over the larger, flat tree.  I used my paper piercer to lift up the cut 'boughs' and then added a bit of Shimmery Crystal Effects to the edge of each one.  To add even more sparkle, I sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds glitter while the Crystal Effects was still wet.  The result ... gorgeous!  The trees are attached with dimensionals, to lift them from the background a bit.
The background paper is just perfect for this card.  I love it!

Feels Like Frost - 3 Cards / 1 Design

Here's another card we'll be making at my Christmas Cards Retreat on October 6.  (By the way, today's the last day to pay to register for the retreat!!!)  I've used a simple design, to let the gorgeous designer papers be the star.
Because we're making 3 of each design at the retreat, I chose a different paper for each of these 3.  There's a hidden secret to them, also, that doesn't show up well in photography.  I've spritzed each one with Champagne Shimmer Mist.  It's gorgeous --- like real, sparkling snow and frost.  For a finishing touch, I added 3 tiny rhinestones to each card.
Above ... all 3 cards.  Below ... a close-up of each one.
It's so easy to stamp greetings on multiple cards - and have them exactly where you want them positioned - just by using our Stamparatus.  I use mine all the time.  It seldom gets put back in its storage bag because I use it so much.  The storage bag is still super handy, for keeping track of extra plates, pads, and grid papers.  Love it!
I know some people really like to stay with the traditional reds and greens for Christmas and I love Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow for cards, too, but I've always loved blues and greens for an elegant look for Christmas.  What is your preference?
Do you have a favorite paper?  My favorite choice seems to change each time I look at them.  This paper is gorgeous!
By the way, on the other side of each paper is a silver foil design with a white background.  You'll see what I'm using that for in another post.

Stamparatus Magnolias ... So Fun ... and Easy!

At my July Scraps and Prayers class, I'll be teaching how to use the Stamparatus and Simply Scored tools to create a super fun card ... with magnolias, of course.  Here are the cards I've made:
I actually made 2 versions of my design.  In case you don't want to mess with trying to tie a little bow, you could punch out a couple of leaf trios.  Some days are bow days and some just aren't.
I used scoring lines on my scrap template to determine the best placement for the text, in the center of my square.  Once I had that figured out, I could use my Stamparatus to keep the placement exactly right for my cards.
I added a touch of stamping on layers inside my cards, as well.
I really like how my cards turned out.  I love the little blossoms.
It's always nice to have a little stash of 'Thinking of You' cards.

Before you go, be sure to scroll down to see my reminders AND to see something new --- about a special drawing!

Tutorial for Stamping Text Pieces Using the Stamparatus

Remember our beautiful Christmas card kits we had last Christmas?  With this kit, as well as many other fun kits, there are little pieces that require careful placement for the stamped text.  Once we got the Stamparatus, this became an easy process.  It's this simple:
- Using the negative pieces to guide the placement, along with sticky notes, you can achieve perfect placement every time.
- Once you have the placement exactly where you want it, remove the sticky note.
- Holding your piece in place with a new sticky note, ink up your stamp and stamp the piece for your card.  It works!

Here are the cards with the perfectly stamped little pieces.  Now, to catch up my last couple of Paper Pumpkin kits.

Stamparatus and Bag Are Great to Have!

Last night, we had a great class and, as always, I enjoyed it immensely.  What a great group of ladies!  As we made our cards, I taught them how to use the Stamparatus to help make the stamping of the little text pieces super easy.  I also showed them my new bag in which to safely store my Stamparatus and all its accessories.  I just love it and it holds a lot!

Here's the bag for the Stamparatus.
In another post, I'll share how to use the Stamparatus to make your stamping of the little text pieces easier.  Also, I promised my class attendees last night that I'd post a link today for the magnetic card insert that I added to my Stamparatus to make it possible to stamp right in the corner of it.  I got it from StampNStorage.  They are the makers of all my ink pad holders and punch holders, framelits and dies boxes and magnetic cards, not to mention all my Stampin' Blends.  I really love their products.  Here's the link:

First Frost / Beautiful Day Card

I made this card yesterday, as my creative design to use for my October birthday cards for our church.  I really like the elegant simplicity of it all.  I actually placed both stamps onto my Stamparatus at the same time, so the stamping was easy and super quick.  The prettiest part doesn't even show up in the photo, but I used Wink of Stella all over the image.  It's really pretty in person.
My color story is Smoky Slate (ink), Silver Foil Paper, and Pool Party, with a white card base.
The little rhinestones add the perfect finishing touch.
