Styles of Scrapbooking, Using Kits

There are many ways to scrapbook and there are new ways coming out, as well.  How do you decide what to do?  I think it's a matter of deciding what you enjoy doing the best and deciding what method you think does the best to showcase and preserve your memories.  Choose the method that you most enjoy doing and your work will be that much more creative.

Let's take a look at some of the most popular types of scrapbooking.  I've come up with 10 different popular types so far, so we'll look at one method of scrapbooking each day.  Many of my photos were taken before I added my photos to the layouts.  You'll see a few here and there that were taken with the photos, so you get to see it both ways.

1.
scrapbooking using kits
--- adding your own touches with it or just using what comes in the kit.  I've used kits to highlight a Christmas memory or to showcase a vacation to a location that is so different from where I live that I may need different embellishments and papers than what I'd typically use... such as going to the beach... I live on the Prairie:)

This first layout is from our kit that was designed specifically for making a Christmas page for 2011.
This Halloween layout is from our kit designed for Halloween treat bags.  I added punched squares with a button on each, a snippet of ribbon and a spider web embossed banner piece.  There is a teeny, tiny bit of stamping on it.
This layout was made using some of our 'Tag A Bag' tag pieces.
This last layout is from various bits and pieces from one of our old Simply Scrappin' kits.

My Party Prizes are Finished!

Today, I want to share my Party Prizes with you... for my Summer Stamping Party this Sunday (July 27).  It's from 2:00-5:00 and the first 16 guests to arrive will get one of these cute little bags.
Aren't they cute?  I made them in 3 different styles... just for fun.  Here are some close-ups.
Tags:
1.  from our Tag a Bag Accessory Kit... along with the cute little clips.
2.  from our Celebration Basics Kit.
3.  from our Celebration Basics Kit.
The adorable little clothespins are some of our new In Color accessories.  I love them.
The text on the first bag is from Regarding Dahlias.
The stamp set I used on the 2nd and 3rd bags is World of Dreams.  It's one of my favorites.  The wonderful 'leaf sprig' is from our Flower Frenzy Bigz Die.  I will be using this one a LOT!
I hope you'll contact me that you'd like to join us at the party this Sunday and I hope you're one of the lucky winners!  There's something special in each bag and they're not all the same, but I'm not telling what it is!  So... Who wants to party???

What else can you do with the kit? Part 2

What else can you do with the Tag A Bag kit?  You could make a mini album... decorate some more bags...  have fun!
Here are yet some more ideas of projects you can make with the Tag a Bag Kit and the Tag a Bag Gift Box Kit.  I love when a product gets your creative juices going and gets you thinking about what else you can make with it.
Here are some more decorated boxes and bags ... and ... a mini album.
By the way, you can fit 14 peppermint patties in the box:)
I made the mini album using 7 bags.  I left each bag 7" long and just cut off the very end, to leave the pages (and the album) straight.
I covered each 'page' with Epic Day DSP.  The pieces are 4 1/2 X 5 1/2" each.
Each page has a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2" piece of CS inside the pocket created by the bag.  I punched a hole and threaded Summer Starfruit ribbon through it and tied it with some white string.  You can add photos and journaling on each page and on each CS insert for each pocket.

Here's a close-up of 2 of the pages opened.
I punched 3 holes along the spine of my mini album and tied the pages together with Summer Starfruit ribbon.  It works with the Crushed Curry on the tag very nicely.
This mini album would be a fun way to remember a special event or trip.  Here's the front cover again.
I am working on yet MORE projects using the kit, so check back later to see what else I am making.  Have a good day.

What else can you do with the kit?

What else can you do with the Tag a Bag Gift Bags?  Well, you could make a layout, or you could make a mini album, or you could make a gift card holder, or you could make a treat bag...  The possibilities are endless.

Today, I'll share with you my first option --- a scrapbook layout.  This uses the Tag a Bag Gift Bag and Tag a Bag Accessories Kits.

I kept this super simple, to allow plenty of room for whatever direction you'd like to go with it.  You could use the tags for journaling or small photos --- or some of each.  I love how cute the tags look as a banner.  These could also be used for small photos or a title.  I still am thinking how I'll add to mine.  Any suggestions?  Let me know if you come up with some ideas.

I'm off to work on Halloween wreaths.  I am somehow super ready for Fall this year.  I just love the impact of the seasonal change to Fall colors.  I will be making a lot of projects for Fall and Halloween this year.  It's the direction my creative spirit wants to go right now, so I'm off to get at it!

Boxes, Banners, Bags and Tags

As promised, today's post continues with more Stamp Club sneak peeks.  Today, we'll focus on my August Stamp Club --- Boxes, Banners, Bags and Tags.  I can't wait to do these projects with you!
I didn't have my order here yet for the bags when I took this shot, so I'll show you the cute little bag separately.  Isn't this cute?
For this class, we'll use the boxes kit and then the bags and accessories kits.  Here's all you get in the accessories kit:
In my class, we'll focus on ways to use the tags in addition to using them to tie onto a gift.  The banner was all made with tags.  I made good use of my 2 butterfly punches, too.   The card was made with the tags, too.  I used one of our fabulous new embossing folders used on it.
