Christmas With a Surprise

Look... it's an envelope... it's a card... it's both!  Today's card has a little surprise.  It's an envelope that, when you open it, reveals that it's an envelope and card all in one!  We'll be making this at my Friday Night Cards class.  I started with an 8 1/8" square and ended up with a 5 1/4" card (when closed).  Take a look:
Because you open it as a card, you do not seal any of the flaps on the card/envelope.  It is held together (when closed) with a belly band.    I love when you can use a product (such as our Envelope Punch Board) in a new and different way.

Additional ideas for my card/envelope idea:
  • You could place a gift card inside for an additional surprise.
  • Do you like to send a family newsletter at Christmas time?  It will easily fit inside my card/envelope --- just fold and tuck it inside.
  • Do you have kids who like to participate in Christmas activities?  Give them the square insert and have them make a picture.  You make the card/envelope and attach their complete picture inside it.
  • Do you like to scrapbook?  Treat the square insert as a little scrapbook page and add a family photo.  Your recipients will LOVE it!!!
  • Experiment with different sizes for your card/envelope and find stamps that would work with it.
  • Try using this card/envelope for a fancy invitation or birthday card.
Leave a comment if you can think of any other ideas to share with everyone for using my card/envelope.  I'd love to hear from you!
Here's the last card in the group:

Here again are all my cards for Friday night.  I think I came up with a nice variety.  Thanks for stopping by.

Stamp-A-Stack Cards

I love making cards for Christmas.  I love planning the colors, choosing the stamps, choosing the embellishments, thinking about who gets each card... I love it all.  Whenever I design cards for a Stamp-A-Stack, I have to remember to keep it simple enough to make several of them quickly and yet still wonderful.  As you know, I sometimes love a challenge.  Would you like to see what we're making Sunday afternoon at my Stamp-A-Stack?  Take a look:

There will be 5 designs.  Everyone gets to choose how many of each that they'd like to make.  The more cards you make, the better price break you get and the more cards you'll have to share with others.

Sunday, October 27:
Stamp A Stack for Christmas / 3:00...
There will be 5 designs.
Choose how many of each you wish to make and pay your fee to register by Oct. 25.
Make   5 cards for $15. / 1 of each design
Make 10 cards for $25. / 2 of each design
Make 15 cards for $30. / 3 of each design
Make 20 cards for $35. / 4 of each design
Make 25 cards for $40. / 5 of each design

NOTE:
There will also be a Stamp A Stack for Christmas class on Sunday, November 24 / 3:00...

Let's take a closer look at the Cherry Cobbler cards today and we'll come back to the others in another post.

We'll stamp a message inside each card, as well as create a coordinating envelope.
I may or may not color in the tree later.  What do you think?

Another Halloween Card --- Trick or Treat

If you liked this Halloween card, you're in luck because I have another version of it today!  This one is complete with some of our Witches' Brew Washi Tape --- inside and out.  This card was inspired by Sandi MacIver.  Let's get right to it!

September Cards: Let's look at them all!

I've been showing you the cards for my upcoming Friday Night Cards (Sept. 13) / Sunday Afternoon Cards (Sept. 15) classes.  Today, let's go back and look at them all.  In case you're wondering, the Dasher (Christmas) card is the bonus card.  If you get a friend to sign up for the class too, you both get to make the bonus card.

A Telescoping Card and A Video

One of the perks I enjoy in being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is getting to attend events with other demonstrators.  Today's card is one that we made at our last meeting in Springfield.  I liked it so much that I decided it would be fun to make it at my next Friday Night Cards (Sept. 13) / Sunday Afternoon Cards (Sept. 15) classes.
This card was designed by Julie Davison, a talented stamper, great leader, and wonderful friend.  I added a coordinating envelope --- lined of course:)
I hope you can come to my class and see how much fun it is to make a telescoping card.

Sept. 1 ----- Happy September!

I cannot believe it is September already.  Did we even have an August this year?  Oh well, that just means that we're getting closer to Halloween.  Today's card is actually a little treat holder.  This was inspired by Dawn Olchefske, a very sweet and talented lady.
It's so much fun to open a card and find a little treat inside.  I'm not even a gum chewer and I still love it!  Of course, I lined the envelope because I just love our new envelope liners!!!  As you can see, I'm having way too much fun with all the goodies from our Holiday Catalog.
I placed this treat in a regular sized envelope, so there's room to enclose a message, too.  You could also write your message on the top, inside flap by using our new White Stampin' Chalk Marker!  And, if you really don't want gum inside, you could always place a small candy bar in it.  It fits.

By the way, if you liked yesterday and today's posts, we'll be making these at my September card classes.  Hope you can join us!
