Rose Trifold Card

Sometimes, I like to make a card that requires a LONG time to create.  I don't have the luxury of time to do this very often, nor do I want all my cards to take this long.  I just, sometimes, like to create something really unique.  Today's unique card is a trifold that makes serious use of the Rose Garden Thinlits and coordinating Rose Wonder stamp set.
The thinlit shape becomes one edge of the card.
I added some painting with my Aqua Painter and, of course, some wonderful speckles.

I also made this coordinating frame.  I love this Scripture. Can you say super gift?

Hoop Project Revisited

Today, I decided to revisit a favorite project because, with a touch of Spring in the air lately, it just speaks of Spring.  We'll be making this project Monday, March 14 at my Scraps and Prayers group.  The fee is $18. due to the materials required to make it.  Registration deadline is noon Saturday, March 19.   Let me know ASAP if you're planning to attend, so I can get your hoop ready for you.
I love how this turned out and can't wait for Spring to get here.  Yes, I get Spring fever quite early:)
You can hang this on the wall to display it or place it on a little easel for display.
Think about how pretty this would look as part of a little table-top Spring vignette.  This would also make a beautiful gift for a special someone!

Think Spring and Make a Beautiful Hoop Decor Piece

I love to make home decor items, especially seasonal items that you can enjoy getting out every year when the season rolls around for it.  I decided to make a burlap/hoop project, using our cotton papers.  We'll be making this at our March Scraps and Prayers group.

'Joy' Blocks

Here's a closer look at the 'Joy' Blocks we'll be making at my November 10 Scraps and Prayers class.  I really like how they turned out.
The letters are cut from Glimmer Paper that I spritzed with Cherry Cobbler reinker.  I like how the Cherry Cobbler becomes a wonderful accent for our All is Calm DSP.
I've used our Wondrous Wreath stamps and coordinating die to create a wreath to stand in for the 'o' in Joy.

Click here to see a video on using these coordinating products.

To create the 'wrapped present' look for each block, I wrapped one piece of ribbon around the block and attached it.  I wrapped a second piece around the block the opposite direction, leaving long ends to tie.  I cut a 'v' in the ends of each ribbon... because it just looks cool.

FiestaWare Decor Fun and A Special Invitation

Today, I'm super excited to share something with you that's just plain fun.  If you follow my blog, you know how much I love to go antiquing.  Last weekend, following my doctor's appointment, we went to two gigantic antique places.  I found all kinds of goodness, even several of the items on my 'wish list.'  Can you believe it?  I have a bit of an attraction to the vivid colors of Fiestaware.  It's just so fun!  I found 5 different cups and saucers, each a different vivid and fun color, and slightly varying in style.  Here's how I've used them on my dining room table.

I wasn't going to mix up the colors of cups and saucers, but they begged for it.  There's a little bird nest in each cup, with a few extra sprigs of 'stuff' in the middle cup.  I hope this inspires you to try something new and fun with your decor.

... and one more fun idea ... from my kitchen ...

A Mini Celebration!

Today's project was inspired by my friend Janet Wakeland, a very talented demonstrator and one I truly admire because she is so willing to share her ideas with everyone.  Using the free Heartfelt Banner Kit from our Sale-A-Bration, I created some pennant flags.  If you follow my blog, you know how much I love ribbons and lace, so I added some to my pennant flags.  Don't they make you feel like you're having a mini celebration?
I spritzed my canvas pennants and hearts with my reinker/alcohol mix to color them to coordinate with the other banner pieces.
They coordinate nicely with the banner I made.  Here's a close-up of 1 of them.
March 31 is the last day of Sale-A-Bration, so get an order in while you still have time and see what you can make with a banner kit or one of our other freebies from Sale-A-Bration.  If you already have a kit on hand, break it out and get going.
Be sure to come back soon because today's post is actually a lead-in to a little series I'm making on organizing your crafting space.  To me, that includes a bit of 'pretty' in with all the working areas.  Who couldn't work better with some cute little pennant flags decorating their space?  Come on back and check out what I have for you next!

Have a great day and come back soon for more design inspiration.

A Christmas Frame

Today's post is all about Christmas.  We're making this frameable project tonight at my Scraps and Prayers class.  This would make a great addition to your Christmas decor or a fabulous gift for a special someone.

My color story:
-Cherry Cobbler
-Old Olive
-Whisper White

Tip:
Use a frame for record album collectors.  It works perfectly!

I've added layers and textures with dry embossing and heat embossing (Pewter EP).  I won't name all the stamp sets because I've used a zillion.  They're all in the current catalog or carried over from last year's holiday catalog.  This was a ton of fun to make and I hope you enjoyed my sharing today.  Now it's your turn to go create something beautiful.
