Hoop Project Revisited

Today, I decided to revisit a favorite project because, with a touch of Spring in the air lately, it just speaks of Spring.  We'll be making this project Monday, March 14 at my Scraps and Prayers group.  The fee is $18. due to the materials required to make it.  Registration deadline is noon Saturday, March 19.   Let me know ASAP if you're planning to attend, so I can get your hoop ready for you.
I love how this turned out and can't wait for Spring to get here.  Yes, I get Spring fever quite early:)
You can hang this on the wall to display it or place it on a little easel for display.
Think about how pretty this would look as part of a little table-top Spring vignette.  This would also make a beautiful gift for a special someone!

Think Spring and Make a Beautiful Hoop Decor Piece

I love to make home decor items, especially seasonal items that you can enjoy getting out every year when the season rolls around for it.  I decided to make a burlap/hoop project, using our cotton papers.  We'll be making this at our March Scraps and Prayers group.

Hexagon Gift Box

Would you like to see the gift boxes I made for my Scraps and Prayers attendees at our December class?  They were amazingly easy and cute to make.  As I've been so busy babysitting the cutest baby ever, I had to keep them simple.
Aren't they cute?  If I'd had more time, I would have done a little stamping, made a belly band and possibly even a tag.  Since I didn't have that kind of time and I know you don't always have extra time either, I'm happy to share how you can still make cute things and not need a ton of time to do it.
I had so much fun making flowers out of our Cotton Papers, that I decided to see how a flower would look with some of our Real Red Envelope Paper.  They turned out great and it was easy to work with the papers.  I used 8 layers, staggered them and held them together with a retired rhinestone brad.
If you're wondering what's inside each box, it's a couple rolls of ribbon.  They help to create the box and hold its shape:)
In a future post, I plan to make a box or two with some of our new Occasions Catalog products and then maybe post a tutorial on how to make them.  You'll just have to keep checking back to see:)

My Snowflake Banner ... A Fun Project

Instead of a card or scrapbook project, I have a banner project for you today.  It's fun to make and pretty quick and easy... so I kept making another and another and ...
I used 2 alternating designs for my banner pieces.  Here is the first design.
Here is the second design I used.  I embossed the wooden Snowflake Elements with Gold EP.
It's pretty difficult to get a shot of the banner in place, because it's pretty long.  I think I ended up with 26 pieces altogether.
The banner runs the entire width of my studio.
Click here to see a fun video from Stampin' Up! on alternate ways to use our Spider Web doilies.
Above and below:  images from the video...
So... now it's time for you to order up some of these fun doilies and get to work.  Enjoy!

A Vintage Layout with Embossed Flowers

Today, I want to give you a better look at the layout we'll be making for my next Scraps and Prayers class.  I designed this layout to use in my Heritage Album, but I think you could also use it in other settings, as well.  My color story is Early Espresso, Whisper White, and Sahara Sand, with white embossed accents in the punched flowers.
I have a challenge for you:
Change out the flower stamp for a current one.
Change out the entire color story.
Enjoy an entirely new look.
I'll be doing this challenge, too, so I'll share mine with you when I'm finished.
The smaller mats (as well as the triangular pieces) can be used for photos and/or journaling.

Tin of Cards

I have found that it is usually best for me to steer away from some of our kits, believe it or not.  I feel like it sometimes shuts down my creativity, rather than challenges it.  Not so with the Tin of Cards kit.  I was interested in it right away and really enjoyed putting it all together.  Maybe I should admit that, with kits, a big part of the problem is that I don't get around to completing them.  I've promised myself to do better in that regard!  I made all the cards, easily in a day, and then did some quick decorating of my tin.  I used some jute ribbon and made a filter paper flower, using the Flower Medallion Punch. The dividers are inside.  I didn't get a photo of those.
So... would you like to make a bunch of really cute cards... quickly and easily?  Try our Tin of Cards.  I think you'll really like it.

Sahara Sand Beauty... A Quick and Beautiful Card

Today's card is all about simplistic, elegant beauty.  This is a card that is quick and easy to make and yet it stands out with a simple elegance.
The flowers are heat embossed and then punched out... quick and easy.  They're attached with dimensionals.
I added Delicate Details Lace Tape (retired) to the bottom of the card and then used it as a stencil to sponge a coordinating envelope.
The extra layer on the card always bumps it up a notch, especially when it's attached with dimensionals.
