Notecards - Keep them simple OR Dress them up ...

A while back, I posted a set of notecards that were pretty much as simple as you can get.  They're for when you just want to write a quick note, yet still have a pretty front on it.

How fun is that?!!!  They're still pretty quick and easy to make.  I actually used the same DSP for both sets.  I used the DSP on the envelope flaps for both sets.

Hugs and Prayers Card / SAB Third Release

With everything going on right now, I thought I'd give everyone a card today - via the internet.  My hideous cold is almost gone but my shoulder has me in constant pain.  I can only work on creative projects for a short time each day, as it really hurts my shoulder.  There's not much more I can do about it right now, so I'm trying to stay brave and patient.

Best Dressed Simple Note Cards

It's always nice to have a bunch of note cards on hand for writing a quick note.  
Here's my recipe for a quick way to build that stash.
-- Take a package of note cards.
-- Choose your DSP.
-- Cut DSP 1/4" smaller than the card front.
-- Attach DSP to card front.
-- Attach coordinating DSP to flap on envelope.
-- Write a note.
-- Send.  (Even though these are note cards, they are a mailable size.)

For a nice variation:
-- Cut DSP 1/2" smaller than the card front.

These cards are without a sentiment, so you can use them for anything.  The gorgeous DSP is the star.

Want to bump it up a little?  Take a text or two and a punch you like.  Stamp ... punch ... attach with dimensionals.

Fable Friends Note Card

I have a cute little note card for you today.  I've used our darling little Fable Friends for this one.

I've used Stampin' Blends to color in just the flower and the leaf.

To add a special look (and a pop of extra color) to any card, trim off 1/4" from the front layer of the card base and attach a strip of DSP (slightly wider than 1/4") to the inside of the card.  You can do this with any top OR side fold card.

Bloom By Bloom Note Card

I have a fun little note card for you today.  It coordinates with the mini pizza box I shared in an earlier post.  (Click here to see that post.)

We always need quick little thank you notes, so this is a good one to have on hand.  You can quickly cut scraps of DSP and make multiples.  The photopolymer stamps are quick and easy to align, or you can use your Stamparatus if you're worried you'll miss the alignment.

A little strip of DSP adds so much to a note card, even if it makes it more difficult to photograph your card:)  I use this design a lot.  Just trim 1/4" off the front of your card and add a slightly wider strip to the inside.  (This works for a larger card, as well.  You can stamp a coordinating envelope and, if you have enough DSP, you can decorate the flap of the envelope, too.

Rooted In Nature --- Two Ways

I love our new Rooted in Nature stamp set.  It is very versatile.  I made 2 cards (so far) with this set.  One is full-sized and one is a cute little note card. 

After stamping the trees, I did a little spritzing, to add a soft, muted look.

I cut 1/4" inch off the front of the note card and added a little strip of DSP on the inside of the card.  This dresses up not only the front of the card, but inside as well.

Our Fun Projects from My Open House Party

One of the fun parts of an Open House Party is that my guests get to make several projects, to try out new projects and new ideas.  I most often use our note cards sets, because it saves time in my preparations and they make up into really cute projects.  Each project features new ideas and new products for my guests to try.

The first card is cut smaller in the front, so you can add a strip of DSP to the card and create a great accent.  It also features a new stamp set and using our new In Colors markers to color the flowers.  

The second card features new In Colors CS, a new punch, new stamp set and a gorgeous new embossing folder.  It's one of our 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (TIEF) and it's the more gorgeous design we've ever had!  The leaves are layered over each other and it is just gorgeous.

I made a couple of versions, just to show other ideas for creating this little card.

The treat bag shows off some of our new DSP, 2 new punches, a new ribbon and a fun way to use a note card.  Instead of an envelope, it is tucked into the treat bag!  This would be a great way to include a little treat, a cash surprise, or a gift card.

I think everyone enjoyed the projects that I had for them and I could tell they had fun making them.

NEWS FLASH:
At this point, it looks like I can hold all my classes before a surgery I'm having later in July.  My other surgery will be in August.  I will be able to have the Scraps and Prayers class, but had to cancel the Saturday Stampers (for August 19).  I'm planning on teaching both classes in September and will keep you posted if I need more time to recover.  Be sure to keep checking my blog to get all the up to date news.

By popular demand, I'm changing our August Scraps and Prayers project to sharing with you how to make my book box.  That was a huge hit at the party.  I look forward to sharing this!
More good news --- Several of the cards that people especially likes were the tri-shutter, the 'hugs' card and the front step card.  These will all be included in our July Saturday Stampers class!!!

A Cute Little Crumb Cake Note Card

Today, I'm sharing the cute little note card that was one of our Make and Takes at my Open House / Catalog Party.  They really like it.  

I used Soft Suede Ink on the card design and the flowers were stamped and punched using our Blossom Bunch Punch, Watermelon Wonder CS and Whisper White CS.   

Adding a little strip of DSP can add so much to a card design.  I think the little scattering of 'speckles' adds a lot to the card.  I even added a few on the envelope, too.  

If you needed a quick bunch of cards or wanted to add a bunch to your 'stash' of cards, using a set of note cards and a simple, yet fun design, is the way to go.
