Painted Petals Thank You Card

Today's card is a study in Blackberry Bliss.  The card in my previous post leaned toward the masculine side.  Today's post is every bit more of a girly card.  The painted petals set lends itself well to watercolor techniques.
I stamped onto watercolor paper and spritzed the flowers after stamping them, to give a watercolor effect.  The flowers for the inside and on the envelope are the same color, but came out quite differently in the photo.  I love the embossed layer.  The Lovely Lace embossing folder is one of my favorites.

Painted Petals with Gorgeous Sparkle

Here's a recipe for certain success in making a beautiful card.  First, create a beautiful focal piece.  Next, attach to a beautiful background.  Finally, add some cute little punched flowers.  Oh, and don't forget a coordinating envelope.

Let's take a look:
My color story is Melon Mambo, Whisper White, and Blackberry Bliss.
I wish you could see how shimmery the focal piece is in real life.  It's embossed with Iridescent Ice EP and is gorgeous, but just doesn't show up in a photo.  Mounting the oval piece onto a separate, embossed layer (Spring Flowers) really bumps up the card.

Pistachio Doubles

Here's a quick post for today ... Pistachio Pudding ... doubled.  This is to show you 2 versions of the same card, by simply changing the embossing folder.  Everything else is the same.
I've used another layer under the embossed layer, to add interest and texture.
This is an example of a super quick card that still has a lot of special features.

Double the Fun Cards

I have double the fun cards for you today... in Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.
I've used stamps from our Painted Petals stamp set, organza and taffeta ribbons, and a sponged strip of Irresistibly Yours DSP.
I didn't get the envelopes into the photo, but they have stamping on them, as well.  The card base is all white this time.
So, once again, I ask you... which one do you like the best?

Vellum and Lotus Blossom Card

I have another pretty card for Spring to share with you today.  This one features a lot of fun elements.
Starting with a white card base, I added vellum to the lower portion of the card.  The butterflies are colored on the back of the vellum.  I added a strip of black CS across the top of the vellum and then attached a layer of Blackberry Bliss ribbon on top of the black strip.  I used Liquid Tombow to attach the beautiful embellishments.
The lotus blossom was cut and then attached with dimensionals.  I added sponging to dress up the coordinating envelope.  To add one more distinctive touch to the card, I cut a piece of the Blackberry Bliss ribbon into tiny fringed strips and let them hang down from the lotus blossom.

Crisp Cantaloupe Card and a Treat Bag

I have another card with a matching surprise for you today.   This one is a Sahara Sand and Crisp Cantaloupe combo.  Let's look at the treat holder first.
The holder is made using our French Fry Box Bigz Die.  You simply cut 2 and use only the backs of each one.  The little photo tutorial below shows how to put it all together.
I just added a squiggle of watercolor onto the embossed Thank You on a scrap of watercoloring paper and then, once dry, cut the v-cut using the Hexagon Punch.
The card just showcases the gorgeous background stamp.  I've embossed with white EP onto Crisp Cantaloupe CS.  I used parts of the stamp to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope.
I lightly sponged the doily to blend in to the vintage look of the card.
The flowers are from our Artisan Embellishment Kit.
I masked off part of the inside of the card to stamp the lower border.
Pretty?

Blackberry Bliss Card and a Little Surprise

Today's card features the last of my 5 In Colors cards... in Blackberry Bliss.  I've used embossing, punches and embellishments from our Artisan Embellishment Kit to pull together the elegant look.  Be sure to keep scrolling down to see a little surprise I made to go with this card.
The circle punches help make the card a pretty quick and easy one to assemble.
Adding the embossed layer always bumps a card up to a new level of elegance.
Whew!  That's all 5 of our In Colors.  So, how about a little surprise to go with this one?
Wouldn't this make a super fun gift for a special someone?  They'd have a beautiful card and their own Artisan Embellishment Kit
I've simply wrapped the paper around the box from the kit.  They can actually slide everything out and save the wrapping.  Perhaps they could use the kit, save the box, put a new treat in the box, place it back into the wrapping and pass on the joy to another special someone.

A Mossy Meadow Card with Double Layers

What color do I have up for you today?  It's gorgeous Mossy Meadow.
This simple card is bumped up in elegance by adding additional layers.  I've wrapped the ribbon around just the top 2 layers.
I love adding the little finishing touches to the insides of the cards and their envelopes.

Tangelo Twist in Two Versions

Today, I have 2 versions of a card for you, featuring one of our 2014-2016 In Colors.  These are made from a pack of pre-cut and pre-scored card bases.  We'll continue until we've worked through all five of the colors.  First up today is Tangelo Twist, with some of our Birthday Bash Specialty DSP.  I made 2 versions of the card ... same design ... different DSP.
Can you tell what 3 punches I've used here?  As always, I've added touches to the envelopes and the insides of the cards to coordinate everything.
Which version do you like the best?
In my next post, I'll share another one of the In Colors.  Be sure to come back to see.

Beautiful Crisp Cantaloupe Spring Card

I know I promised a cool watercolor technique today, but I forgot to share this pretty card with you.  We're making it at Jessica's catalog party this Sunday afternoon and I wanted to share it with you now.  We'll get back to the watercolor technique very soon.
It's pretty and 'Springy' and easy to make.  The strip in the middle is sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe ink.  It's one of our SAB choices... for free.
I think you'll agree that the touches of black accents really take this card up ... several notches.
Would you like to see the other projects we'll be making at Jessica's party?  Well... if you do, you'll just have to contact me about joining us at the party.  I can't wait!

I'll be back soon with the promised watercolor technique.  You just need to check here every day, anyway, so you don't miss a thing.

Oval Painted Petals Card

How about a beautiful Spring card today?  It is starting to feel like Spring and that makes my heart happy.
The color story --- Blackberry Bliss and Whisper White --- yummy!
My technique --- using watercolor paper --- stamp and gently spritz the flowers.
It's that simple.
I stamped the inside of the card and the corner of the envelope.
I'll be back in my next post with a a fabulous technique to try with watercolor paper.  I kind of made it up myself, so I had no rules... no guidelines... just fun!
