A Trio of Butterfly Projects

Let's dive into some really fun Spring projects today with a trio of butterfly creations.  Enjoy!

I made a card, a gift box and a gift bag.  If you have a special someone who would love some beautiful gift packaging with a coordinating card, this is it.

By the way, our butterfly papers are all sold out, but if you still have some, please note that I die cut the butterflies for all 3 projects from just one sheet.

I actually made several versions of butterfly cards, so be sure to check back to see those, too.

Come back soon for more creative inspiration!

More Strawberry Fun

Let's have some more fun with strawberries today.  These make such cheerful cards and projects.  Enjoy!

Using all DSP and a bit of ribbon, this card is not only cute, but quick and easy as well.

It's so much fun to make coordinating projects.

You could give all 3 projects to a lucky someone.  I'm sure they'd love it.

Come back soon for more fun projects!

A COUPLE OF CUTE PROJECTS - A NOTEBOOK AND A GIFT BOX

I created 2 quick and easy projects for my January class kit.  We decorated a composition notebook and a little gift box.  I used more of our Sale-A-Bration DSP - Flower and Field.  I love all the bright, springy colors.  Whenever you cover a notebook, if you can find one that has a spine color the same as one of the  colors in the DSP, you can avoid covering the spine, which doesn't always attach as smoothly.  It will wear better, too.  For this notebook, the DSP is 9 3/4 X 6 3/4".  Run a strip of adhesive all the way down the front, next to the spine, line up the DSP there and then lift and add more adhesive to cover the rest of the front (or back).  When the adhesive has set, round the corners with a sanding block (like used for manicures).

The DSP for the matchbox gift box is 10 X 4 1/8" and wraps around the outside of the box.  Start at the side, apply adhesive and smooth down the DSP.  Move to the next section of the box and proceed the same way, one section at a time.  The belly band is 1 1/4 X 10".  Adding a ribbon around it helps hold it all in place securely.  I love these little boxes because they hold quite a lot.

In my next post, I'll be sharing a fun easel style calendar.  Be sure to come back and check it out.

The Last Few Projects from 2017

I'm wrapping up loose ends and sharing the last few of my 2017 projects today.  With all my health issues, I just didn't get them posted earlier and still thought you might like to see them ... and they can easily inspire you to create new projects using these design ideas.
Any of these boxes and bags can be created for most any occasion.

These little 1" artist canvas cuties can also be created for any holiday or occasion.  I attached the DSP using clear, matte Gesso and then attached the darling little houses, snowmen and trees.  There is a 1" piece of CS attached to the back of each canvas, with a strong magnet sandwiched inside.
I love making these large gift bags.  They hold a lot, even class kits.

My Christmas Retreat Projects

In today's post, I'd like to share my Christmas Retreat projects with you.  They're all done with lots of Cherry Cobbler... a wonderful color for Christmas.
I've kept the calendar simple, so there's room to add a photo or two.
Our Fry Box Die makes a fun and easy project to hold treats.
This is one of our tiny gift boxes.  I'm using it as an ornament, but it could easily hold a surprise gift inside, too.
This treat holder is a favorite of mine.  It's easy to cut, score and put together.
Here are all the projects again:

It's Time to Get Busy on Some Christmas Projects!

Working with my new puppies each day has made the time fly by and I realize that I haven't shared some of my projects with you for our upcoming October 25 Christmas Retreat.  Would you like a sneak peek?
These are the projects and cards that we'll be making.
The 3 projects each use our All is Calm DSP and have something special inside of them.
The cards all feature our Festival of Trees stamp set.  Because all the cards are made with the same stamp set, that gives us more time so that we can make 3 of each one!
In my next post, I'll share more details about the projects and, in later posts, details about each card.

Some of My July Projects, Part 4

Today's post concludes my little series on sharing some of my July projects with you.  It's a cute little gift box and it has a special surprise inside it.
This is the same gift box you saw in Part 1 of this series, but I've used it in a different way.  I cut off the top flaps, so that when the box is closed, it makes a little opening to insert your gift, and becomes more like a little, square gift bag.  I punched a hole in each side and tied a Lost Lagoon ribbon through it to create a handle for my little gift bag.

I used a bow (Lullaby DSP)  I made with our die and then added a tag (Chalk Talk) to it.  I made coordinating 'filler' for my gift bag by cutting tiny slivers of Lost Lagoon CS and then crumpling it.  I also added a piece of Lost Lagoon CS to the back, inside of my gift bag, as it shows a little through the window.

Here's what's inside... a set of little 3 X 3" note cards.
I've embossed the cute little bird.  It's from our Hello Love stamp set.  It's one of our new, fun Hostess stamp sets.
I tied a Hello Honey ribbon around the set of 4 note cards.  This will make a great gift for a special someone.

... and, one more time ... here are all my projects:
Let me know if you have questions about any of the projects.  I always read and respond to all the comments left here and I love hearing from you.

Some of My July Projects, Part 1

Today's post is the result of creative problem solving.
My stamping during July has been a real challenge.  Since my husband's accident, I've had to be full-time chauffeur, in addition to my full-time baby-sitting during the week.  With limited time, it's been difficult to get an inspiration and then follow it through to a completed project.  I've learned to be creative with my time and my projects.
It has been easier for me to focus on bits and pieces that I could finish in a short amount of time and/or come back to and take several shorter stamping times to finish.  I've found that working on a technique and experimenting with new techniques, as well as creating a few 3-D projects, have worked out the best.  When I have more time, I can actually use those techniques to create a gorgeous new project.

Today, I'd like to start a short series to share some of my recent stamping projects for July.  I thought I'd start first with another of my filter paper flowers, this time sitting atop one of our cute little Kraft boxes.

I've added some of our Hello Honey satin ribbon to coordinate with the flower.  For more info on the filter paper flowers, scroll back to my previous post for all the details, in case you missed it or would like a quick review.
Up next, some more of my July projects.  As you can see, even though my stamping time has been frequently interrupted, I've still managed to get a few projects finished in my studio.  I must create - to keep my sanity.

'How To' Tips for Snip and Spritz Flowers

Today, I have some tips for you for making the Snip and Spritz Flowers.  If you're like me, you enjoy watching a video tutorial but also find it helpful to see photos of the process... step by step.  That's just what I have for you today.  Let's jump right in.  First of all, here are my 3 flowers again:
You can experiment with other colors for spritzing your flowers.  Let me know if you come up with one you really like.  I love when you share!  To review, mine are Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss, and Hello Honey.

Here's how I made them:
- Open your package of filter paper.  You'll have 4 long pieces and 8 circle pieces.
- Cut all 8 circles at once with the largest or next to the largest Floral Frames Framelits and set aside.
- You can make a paper flower with it at another time (See my next post!)
Tip:
To get a perfect center for your brad, fold your scrap piece in half both ways (I marked mine so you can see it better.) and lay your flower back into the negative part of your scrap.  You can easily see where your center is going to be now.  I've used the next to the largest framelit.  I think it makes a great size for a flower.
- Attach Sticky Strip along one side of one of the long pieces of filter paper.
- Remove backing from Sticky Strip and fold paper over in half.
- Attach another piece of Sticky Strip to the edge.
- Remove backing and fold over again.
- Attach 1 more piece of Sticky Strip but leave the back on this one for now.
- Using our wonderful Fringe Scissors, start cutting this last piece into fringe.  The tape actually stops you from cutting too far.
- When you've fringed the entire piece, remove the backing from the last piece of Sticky Strip and start rolling the piece of filter paper up into a flower.  Roll as tightly as you can.
Tip:
For a small flower, just roll up the 1 piece of filter paper.  For a larger flower, roll a second piece (prepared using the steps above) of filter paper around your first rolled piece.
You'll have 4 long pieces of filter paper in your package, so you can make 4 smaller flowers or 2 fluffier flowers.  This is how I made my flowers, because I wanted them fluffy.

-Spritz with a color of your choice or leave it white.

I hope you found the pictured tutorial helpful and, if you haven't made these flowers yet, get going on it because they're beautiful and soooooooo much fun!!!  I'll have more about filter paper flowers in my next post and we'll use that floral piece I had you set aside in my tutorial today.  Then, in the following post, I'll share how I used all my flowers in a beautiful bouquet.  Have a great day!

Snip and Spritz Flower with Blackberry Bliss

Today, I'd like to share my 3rd gift box which I decorated with my Blackberry Bliss Snip and Spritz flower.  Isn't this a gorgeous color?!!!  I love it!  This gift box is actually one of our boxes with a round window on top.  I wanted to use this one for the size of it, so I covered the inside of the window with some punched flowers so that, when you opened the box, you wouldn't be looking at the glue side of the bottom doily.
Again, I've used 3 lace doilies (as in my previous post).  The white one is kind of pleated/scrunched a bit to make it smaller than the 2 beneath it.  I spritzed those 2 doilies to coordinate with the flower.  I've also used some of our Blackberry Bliss ribbon.  It is gorgeous and it's so easy to work with it.
Come back soon to see all 3 gift boxes again, along with some 'how to' tips for making the flowers.

Snip and Spritz Flower with Tangelo Twist

As promised in my previous post, today I'll share my gift box that I decorated with my Tangelo Twist Snip and Spritz flower.  This box is one of our Kraft Gift Boxes.  After all my previous ideas I shared with you on using ribbons, I have yet one more great one for today.  Let's take a look.
Did you figure out how I did it?  I laid my Tangelo Twist ribbon onto my Craft Mat and laid down a line of Snail Adhesive onto the ribbon.  Then, I carefully picked it up and laid it on top of a piece of our Burlap Ribbon.  I pressed it down a lot, to make sure it stuck.  Then, I wrapped the ribbons around my box and pinched in the place where I wanted to tie it off.  I tied it off with a double layer of Linen Thread.  I usually angle cut or V-cut the ends of my ribbon, but I decided that this one looked better straight.  I really like the look.  This would be a cute border for a scrapbook page!
For texture, dimension, and detail, I've used 3 lace doilies under my flower.  The white one is kind of pleated/scrunched a bit to make it smaller than the 2 beneath it.  I spritzed those 2 doilies to coordinate with the flower.
Come back soon to see my next flower.  We'll be using Blackberry Bliss.  It is gorgeous!!!
